Wrestling Observer/Meltzer Ominbus Thread

So since it was a "phantom beatdown", can we expect Christian to turn heel when he resurfaces? -
The WWE line of thinking bugs the hell out of me. They always say that Cena was the only one who didn't cash in MITB for a title win and blame it on giving Punk a week's notice. Cena had the match won when Big Show interfered for the DQ so it was hardly Cena's fault that the cash-in wasn't successful. As for the other part of it, RVD gave Cena about a MONTH'S notice on his cash-in and still won. Thus is wrestling, though: History only matters when it's relevant.

Sorry, my point was that I could see JBL and Lawler getting that petty towards A.J. Though Lawler's "too ugly for me" retort was lame enough. -

I wonder when JBL or Lawler will tell A.J. that the championships are just props. -
Fuck me because every single thing I think or feel or do or say is wrong. And if I switch to the exact opposite, then I'm still wrong because I'm just always wrong no matter what.

As has been noted to me on a few occasions: People generally don't watch wrestling to THINK. They watch to see the good guys beat up the bad guys. -

I do remember that match happening on a Raw in late 1995, I think. (*looks it up*) 10/16/95. -

4/3/95 was the post-Mania Raw with the Shawn/Sid angle and Blayze-Nakano. 7/24/95 was Bret-Hakushi with Hakushi's first Space Flying Tiger Drop in the WWF. (Looked up the dates, but remembered most of that. Yup.) -

We've got a week to see if they suddenly think "all belts should be on the line" and hotshot it off Axel... -

So all champs are set for NOC except for Reigns/Rollins. Show/Henry is obviously out. Prime Time Players? Usos again? Turmoil schmozz? -

So is anyone gonna post wacky old dirtsheet quotes any more? Kinda miss those. -
I act relatively young and people generally guess lower when they try to deduce my age, so I guess that's a good sign. My social circles tend to involve people younger than myself so that can make a person feel old...ah, to be young and responsibility-free. Miss the days when my biggest worries truly WERE about the pro wrestling.

I was digging the Faces Of Fear back in the day. Should have gotten a run with the belts, but they hit their stride during the Outsiders' stranglehold on the titles so it was not to be. -

Daniel Bryan fan support is irrelevant anyway. The ratings show that he's bad for business. Numbers don't lie. -

I don't think he's being BURIED, but I don't think he's looking all that good for a guy who's supposedly the #1 face at the moment. Guess I'm just used to Cena coming out on top every week except for the one beatdown he takes right before the PPV so the commentators can still call him an underdog. -

The McMahon/Helmesly Regime Part II has been proven absolutely right. Daniel Bryan is bad for business. -
For the record, the actual wrestling on WWE is rarely bad these days. I'm perfectly fine with Bryan and Rollins wrestling each other a whole lot.
-
Clearly this just means that Bryan's revenge will be even MORE super-dee-duper awesome.

Liked the Cody promo and the match too. Too bad a few people have kicked out of Crossrhodes lately or I would have bought into that false finish more than I did. -

Stole it from Virgil to give back to DiBiase. Nope, still heel. -

Didn't say I liked it. Just saying that it's the more likely endgame for the current angle. I have a hard time believing the endgame is Orton-Bryan because, simply put, Orton-Cena would generate more interest and would be, dare I say, "better for business". -

Can you be even more delusional? Legit question: Does anyone here think Cena is just going to give up his spot as face of the WWE? Because if pro wrestling has taught me anything in the last 20+ years, it's most definitely no. "Former" = Orton-Cena "Latter" = Orton-Bryan I said I thought Orton-Cena would get more buys. -

Legit question: What do you think would get more PPV buys, Orton-Cena or Orton-Bryan? Honestly, I'd say the former.
