That was Dolfan blowing up shit at that point. I was sitting in the cockpit of the titan, so I had a perfect view of that. Damn trailer would've flown even further if it hadn't hit the side of the hanger.
-
I started laughing as soon as I heard he still didn't have bulletproof tires last night. Party because of the ridiculousness of it, and partly because I knew what your reaction would be.
-
Fortunately explosives turned out to be the solution to the Titan problem, as well as the source.

Herby was a whole lot more relaxed over the whole thing than I would've been. I think he lost the job because he was a contract worker. They usually have a whole lot less protection. I obviously have no room to complain about GTA rhythmic gymnastics, since I pretty much Mary Lou in my sleep at this point, but it does get old. Especially when I get into a tumbling contest with somebody that hits double digits on the Mary Lou count before one of us gets the other. I've had people do the forward roll on me, and I've used it myself. Usually happens in close combat when you're running right at somebody in cover. I've got to the point of just hanging out behind walls rather than going into cover behind them, so I can do my Mary Lou when the guy coming around the corner tries his. Main thing is timing. If I think a guy is gonna Mary Lou, I'll try not to target him until after he has started the roll. Doesn't always work, but I'm getting better. Forgot about RUkered giving some poor, unsuspecting white dots a lesson on the dangers of hanging out around gas stations. That was hilarious. Whole left side of my screen lit up with all the death notices.

Freemode was mostly notable last night for the return of Herby, who's a whole lot more relaxed about being hit by a car in real life than I would've been. The one DM we did was funny. Phil, Valcourt and I all ended up with 10 kills at the end of it. Don't think I've ever seen that happen before. We found a new and novel way to fuck up LS Connection last night. We got through the hacking portion with a minimum of damage to us. I started off the clown show be deciding to walk through the tail rotor of Stout's buzzard. RUkered proceeded to do the same, exact thing. Then Stout's chopper crashed, killing him and his remaining passenger. Forgot to mention - UFOs have returned.

Mostly the XBOX crew tends to play on weeknights. Every once in a while we'll have a few people on during a weekend, but not often.

TXDOT has been doing that with one of the two major north/south highways through Austin for months now. Guessing which set of lines to follow, and which set the people around you will use is a joy. There are stretches of I-35 around here that have been under constant construction since I started high school. I graduated 25 years ago.

For me, it's the variety to freemode that I like. I've done a shitload of deathmatches, and I still like them, but the types of combat you get don't usually vary that much. I got a freemode kill last night with an ignition bomb. Got another by suicide bombing a tank. Had a guy sticky bomb me out of a buzzard. That's my favorite type of stuff, and you very rarely see it in deathmatches. Of my favorite kills in the game, only one has been in a DM - sticky bombing a tanker truck then waiting for melraz to wander by it.

I'm guessing the good news of the new god mode trick has not yet spread far and wide in the GTA little bitch community. I helped RUkered and misanthrope cut a swathe of destruction through freemode last night, and we never did see any god mode hackers. What we did see were some folks that seriously need to work no their skills and/or choice of opponents. One low level clown made the mistake of trying to take on both RUkered and myself while we were camped on top of the mall. End result was him getting sniped about 50 times. Guy just would not learn. HIs basic approach was this: 1 - Go into a position where he thought he had cover 2 - get sniped 3 - spawn 4 - run back to the exact same spot 5 - Rinse, repeat Surprised we could shoot straight from laughing at his expense so much.

I blame Rockstar. If that's not what they meant, they shoulda been more specific.

I got the juror but died in the subsequent chain explosion of the police cars at the hotel. Robert and Mark survived, so we were all good. Hopefully me getting paid but not surviving counts as "completion" of the mission so it does not pop up in my job queue anymore. Not sure who all survived that one, but I certainly didn't I got cornered in the Death from Above house by a chopper and most of the LSPD. It didn't end well for me. Of course, that might've been for the best, because that way everybody else didn't have to wait 30 minutes as I tried to lose the cops.

I managed to get both of the trucks without ever going into the construction yard. Bounced a grenade launcher shot off a wall to get the one near the entrance, and sniped the second with an RPG from outside the fence. The backup guys in the SUVs got mauled before I even had a chance to shoot at them. Only downside was me accidentally blowing up Dolfan's shiny chrome Massacro after we got the one that goes into the cul-de-sac.

Cmon man, it's one of few benefits of being old. We get to do this: That's the first time I've ever been in a room where EVERYBODY had a tank at the same time, other than us. Those two clowns' crew was BRIK. They both had Brick at the start of their names. The third guy was ace something - don't remember his crew. I managed to take out one tank with sticky bombs. I lucked into a spot where I could hit the tank with stickys, but the tank couldn't get a shot on me. Dumbass stayed there till I blew him up. Felt good about that, as well as getting the two buzzards with RPGs. No god moders and no jets was nice, at least.

We'd get near the top of one of those hills, then things would go to shit and we'd roll all the way back down to the bottom again. We'd be 3 tenths of a mile away, do 15 rolls down the hill, and wind up half a mile away. I know that happened at least twice. Can't believe I didn't wake my wife up from laughing so hard.
-
Forgot to mention - never get in a Sandking with a drunk melraz. We took a shortcut from downtown to the Chemical Extraction mission, and it must've taken us 20 minutes to get there. We almost went into the ocean 3 different times. Misanthrope's buddy gave up after we crashed into the strip mine and nearly beat us there in a dump truck.

New payouts are quite nice. 30K for Diamonds are for Trevor. 10K for a fucking Lamar mission. I might actually finish up the missions for Lamar and Simeon now.

Well, he surpassed Foley last night. The left ear came off somewhere - can't find that either.

Part of my cat's right ear fell off last night. No big deal really, we knew it was coming. He'd been hit by a car when we found him, and he had two cauliflower ears. The left one that hasn't fallen off is actually worse. The problem is, we can't find it. We know it fell off in our bedroom, but we have no idea where. So right now there's a detached ear somewhere in my bedroom - assuming the dogs didn't find it.

They seem to have finally remembered to add the carrot to the carrot and stick approach they were using to get people to stop spamming Rooftop Rumle. Maybe they're finally figuring this shit out. I'm wondering what the rewards would have to be get me to play the new airborne captures and escort vs. missions. On the Lazers in freemode - I really wish they'd bring the shoulder fired anti-aircraft missile from San Andreas. That'd be one way to even the odds quickly.

I went ahead and downloaded while I was home at lunch, so I should be good to go. May be late getting on though - gotta get the truck from my wife and go buy a shitload of mulch after work. Really hoping the god mode bug is actually fixed for good. I'm not feeling too confident, based on Rockstar's track record thus far. Loving the new tank icon deal. It should make our various sticky bomb tricks even easier to implement.
-
I've only recently started using the RPG a bunch. I've got nearly as many RPG kills with this character as my female one, even though I've only used him maybe 10% as much in freemode.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get in trouble by blowing up personal vehicles. I know I got the good boy bonus on night after blowing up at least 15. I probably average about 10 every time we're on. Always makes me laugh when I'm running towards a personal vehicle which has just been relieved of its occupant and somebody shouts at me to stay away because there's a sticky on it - which was exactly what I was planning to do myself. I kinda treat blowing them up as strategy. Getting rid of a guy's Zentorno tilts the playing field in our favor. I've also been known to blow them up inside the impound yard in the hopes of enraging the owners enough to come after us.

Competition was a little better last night than the last couple, but still wasn't much of a challenge. Twice I got messages that melraz had killed somebody before I had even finished spawning into the server. Theme of the night for me was the old trick of killing a guy, sticky bombing his personal vehicle, and then taking him, and it, out when he came back to collect it. I got at least 6 or 7 of those last night. Two came right in a row on an Adder and a Zentorno. Guy on an Akuma put a bounty on me after I interrupted his getaway attempt that way. Stout took the classy, highbrow approach, paraphrasing Tennyson while mocking poor swagisfreak. Only saw one clear cheater last night - the glitching jet guy that melraz and I watched fly through the ground. More tanks than I'd like, but the only one that lasted long was the guy that got in one and then immediately ran away from us.
-
I thought you survived that one. I saw it drop pretty much at my feet and ran like hell to get out of the way. Explosives were not our friend from that location. I thought for sure I would wind up shooting the sticky bomb I accidentally stuck right next to your head and wind up taking both of us out.

Stout and mis - sorry to drop out like that last night. My router crashed again, and then I couldn't get back online. Figured it was a sign that I had better go to sleep, since I had to get up in 5 hours.
