  1. It had been a while since I'd seen god mode. I caught one guy completely unaware while he was targeting cops, and put an entire magazine of combat MG ammo into him. Didn't even faze him. Then I watched another guy take hundreds of hits from the cops with no effect. I think this is all somehow linked to the glitch that allowed UFOs. I drove thru that intersection and noticed it was full of traffic cones. I got the hell out of there. Did manage to pick up a bunch of bounties in other servers. I got on a ridiculous run of killing dots with sticky bombs. I must've been doing something right, because one guy put a bounty on me after I'd got him 3 or 4 times in a row with stickys. Also successfully took out my first tank with the old style suicide bomb - load up a car and go off the radar. Then I sniped the guy on respawn till he left. I did feel bad about one fight. Somebody came right up to me just after another firefight ended, and I wound up killing the guy 4 times in succession. A bounty spawned near me, so I took off and sticky bombed the bounty guy out of his Turismo. I was wondering about the level on the guy I killed 4 times in a row. Turned out he was a 7. I stopped my car and was about to text an apology when he comes crashing into me. I shotgunned him one more time before the server took a dump.
  2. I had a problem with the pay and spray not letting a Simeon car a couple days ago. No idea why. Finally gave up and drove to another one, which worked fine.
  3. She was good. I finally gave up trying to shoot her, and just started using the grenade launcher. Made pretty good paydays between Thursday and Friday. Should help towards funding my next freemode run, after the enormous hits my wallet took the first half of the week.
  4. My thumb is still cursing you for that one. At least I finally got my first bicycle race win. I so would have smoked you all if I had remembered to use my Endurex. Yeah, that was the biggest vehicle advantage I've had in a race in a very long time. Once Rippa got delayed by something, and then got hung up by the train, all I had to do was just avoid biking into things.

  6. My total for the night was around 450K, mainly on personal vehicles and various explosives. Burned through my entire supply of MG ammo as well. Had probably my best sniper kill ever on hashby, or whatever that passive SOBs name was. He was fleeing for his life on his personal Akuma, and was 4 or 5 blocks away when I sniped him in the head mid-jump. No idea how many tanks we took out last night, but it was a bunch. I know I got at least 3 myself. The passive/sticky bomb one melraz and I did was the best. The last one I got I ran into head on in a Blista as he was coming down a hill. My car somehow drove under the tank so I threw my sticky bomb on the underside.
  7. Is it wrong that whenever I think of Herby driving a bus, I see this in my mind's eye? [\media]
  8. I tried to keep him out of his car. After I shot him out of it, I camped near his car and killed him 3 or 4 more times. He finally went into passive till he could get into the thing, then made a quick getaway before I could shoot him out again.
  9. That was when it was down to just Stout and me. I managed to shoot that guy out of two buzzards. He bailed after the second one. In between the first and second buzzards some other goof drove up in a POV Sultan, which immediately got blowed up. He called up his Entity, and but stopped right next to me to try to hit an armored car. RPG took care of the armored car, the Entity and him in one go. He left to go get a tank, but Stout was on to him, so we were both in passive waving at him when he came back by. Buzzard guy went passive and got on top of a building at one point. Not high enough though, because he was still within reach of the fire truck's water canon. Then he spawned in the street AFK, so we took turns running over and drowning him. I got my $2k for good behavior right after killing him 8-10 times while he was in passive. I love GTA's moral judgements. I so want there to be a rub-a-dub-dub award for drowning so many players with the fire truck.
  10. I was a little baffled in general when I got on yesterday. Long day. When I saw you were still on, I figured y'all were all doing races or deathmatches. Was surprised, and pleased, to see you'd joined the freemode heathen brigade. Somehow I don't think skittles is going to be sending me any friend request any time soon. I painted her purple top red with blood more than a few times. I just don't have your way with the ladies. Yeah, one guy ended up joining the other guy's crew. Awesome, we made another love connection. We are helpers.
  11. I got to watch both of those through my sniper scope. Had to be the kills of the night all around. I'd been trying to get that red Zentorno forever, so I was quite happy to see it go. And that RPG shot was a thousand to one shot. My own personal highlight came in the confusion after you took em all out. There was a maroon Escalade, or whatever it's called in the game, stopped in the middle of the highway. It was far enough away that I couldn't see people, but I could see when they got in the car. I just kept my sniper sights trained on the driver side window. 3 different guys got in that car in quick succession. I sniped all 3 before they finally wised up and found a different means of escape.
  12. I was crapping out more than usual even for my shitty, shitty router. I got a "You guys are total d-bags" PMs from SharkAttack and Blizzy overnight, so mission accomplished. We did what we set out to do. You guys may see some negative rep coming your way! I had a really hard time understanding some folks, but I could hear others clearly. At one point Rippa was shouting at me to pick him up in my car, and I couldn't understand a word of it.
  13. I think I actually dropped off before you did, so no problem. I was trying to run that hippo guy off before I dropped, but he just wouldn't leave. You'd think after we killed him about 60 times he would've got the hint. As it was, I only managed about 2 hours sleep. At the least, I've gotta figure that getting going without sleep to take care of the injured kitten we found yesterday has gotta wash away some of my freemode sins. I think I did a little better than average. Had a couple bad spells, like first contact with the folks down by the beach. We held our own though, even though they had us outnumbered, and had already driven 3 guys into passive. Zentorno guy was really annoying. That's only the second time I've ever reported somebody. At least the damn thing wasn't bulletproof. I shot him right in the face with my assault SG, and it made a nice bloodspray pattern on the windshield.
  14. GTA. It brings out the better angels of our nature.
  15. What Stout said. If you go back through this thread there are probably about 50 posts from me bitching about joining, and then immediately leaving, shitty DMs. It's annoying, but the best way I've found of getting decent matches is just joining at random and then bailing out till you find one you want. Downside to that is that it sends the invites to your friends list automatically, even if you quit out. Then Rippa gets annoyed because he joined a Prison Thugz match that you've already bailed out on.
  16. I can verify this as a true statement, having completed a self-imposed ban from all things flying during missions after one such occurence where I promptly died early on in a mission, then took to piloting for the win with all members in the chopper before I crashed and failed it for everyone. I am a little better now, aside from hacking crew to pieces with choppers while trying to either A) kill someone that is non-crew (like I did Melraz, numerous times on night) or B) pick up a crew member for evac/re-positioning (Herby at near the airport the last time the night shift were all together) I still remember the time there were three or four of us in an annihilator and somebody Allah Akbar'ed us right as we were trying to take off. I was watching this Adder coming in on us fast and trying to war the pilot, when all of a sudden the whole world exploded.
  17. I care about my K/D ratio and getting killed, but I'm more concerned with the K side of the equation than the D. I'll frequently introduce myself to a group of players by driving up to their cars and sticky bombing all of us. My K/D is creeping up, at 1.42 last time I checked. Stout, your K/D is ought to be rising. You've been much more of a killer the last few times I've played with you. If you care about tints for the short range weapons, DMs are the place to get that, rather than freemode. That's where I got most of the kills for those. I've got the LSPD on the heavy sniper, advanced rifle, assault SMG, AP pistol, combat MG and assault SG. I was also pedantic and bought the LSPD tints for the bullpup rifle and special carbine only after I'd registered 600 kills with both. I unlocked the first tint for the RPG recently. I've also got a bunch of tints for guns I don't even own, from doing forced weapon DMs.
  18. I think "I'm too drunk for freemode" was the first thing I heard. It was one of those kinda nights.
  19. Don't make me fake a migrane to get out of work and come up there on a welfare visit.. I already got a lot of shit to do this weekend like a million hours away in Maryland. Jobber Thursday was relatively quiet. I saw no hide nor hair of the Night Shift guys, so I got beat by Mark by playing the most unremarkable round of golf in recent memory and then i went into free mode to watch WEAZEL while I ate dinner. I think I killed maybe one person the entire time I was online. Two if you include me shooting Mark earlier in the evening for the $1K bounty on his head. Hey, I needed the SMG kill.. Those shits are hard to come by nowadays since even 20ish lowbies can get their hands on Bullpups and Special Carbines. The GTA game database continues to act fubar. I got an invite to Coveted this morning while swiping the morning Simeon vehicle. The mission was marked NEW despite the fact that I have played that thing a dozen times. I assume the system considers the mission NEW to me since I haven't played the "improved" version. That's what you get for having screwed up True / False flags in your POS database. melraz and I got into some murdering after you'd logged off. I can confirm he was alive and well, and was deeply into beer #2. melraz tried for his first "kill target", and I hopped into his car for the ride. Glad it was a video game car rather than real life. He crashed into almost everything on the entire map, and the target got away before he could get him. Needed to spend some quality time with the wife, so I didn't get online till she'd gone to sleep. Probably won't be on much till Monday evening. Coveted has always been one of those things that the game won't realize you've finished it, kinda like a mission equivalent of Boneyard.
  20. Not sure how long I'm gonna stick with the guy, but I'll probably do it for a while. Maybe unlock a few things. I have no clue when I got a world record with him, but apparently I did. I gotta do something with his look though. The hair glitch makes him look like a guy who'd own a copy of the Turner Diaries. Like I said last night, I find myself doing the Mary Lou all the time, even when there's no combat going on. Yeah, it looks like that's done, till somebody figures out a new one. You can still dupe the car, but after you do that you can't drive out.
  21. That is Mark's deathmatch salute to ESPN's Dan Patrick entitled Nothin' But Golf Shots. I really like that one. The one at the mansion with the grenades was kinda unfortunate, 'cause I haven't played it enough to know where the pickup weapons are. I'd just stumble across them. Now that I know, the first thing to do is to say "screw killing people" and try to get up on that roof where the sniper rifles are. I dunno how to get up there, though - I would be wise to go scout the location in a private room. With four of us, that one would've been better as a four-way dance to keep both teammates from getting on the roof. The way up to the mansion roof is to climb the storage container in the back. It's not there in freemode. In a way, you were responsible for putting me up there. If your damn sticky bomb hadn't got me, I wouldn't have spawned up there in the first place.
  22. I was glad I managed to even the score 2-2 on last cub before he bailed. I had to work hard to get it, so it felt like quite the accomplishment. In my defense, he was a level 3. I always feel a sense of accomplishment getting high level players like that.
  23. The two jet guys we ran into at the airport a few weeks ago were also using their guns rather than rockets. They also tended to use the same sine wave sort of flightpath that the guy last night was doing. So either that's how really, really good pilots roll, or they're exploiting something. The guy last night got me four times. The first two were hard shots, but didn't seem impossible. I'm hard put to understand how he could've pulled off the last two. The third one in particular seemed next to impossible, as I was in cover down a narrow alley between two reasonably tall buildings. It would've required a near perfect shot to get me. I still finished up on his two buddies on the ground, so at least there's that.
  24. I don't know about that, but the few times I've accepted apartment invites out of curiosity, it's been nothing but a bunch of dudes in nothing but short shorts doing the jack off motion non-stop.I hate to beat a dead horse, but one exception was the night we fought Bane. He simply invited us in because we were FIIIIINE GENTLEMEN AND WORRRRTHY FOES. Ok, now I really don't feel bad that I've never accepted an apartment invite.
  25. Actually, you wouldn't even need to shoot anybody. Just go into cover near somebody else, shoot at some random target, and see if the other guy sees your blip appear.
