  1. I dont know what its like in the US or other countries around the world but here in AUS the Network just isn't worth it. To watch WWE on TV you need cable. A basic cable deal that includes WWE is around $50AUS a month. This channel shows Raw, Smackdown, NXT, Superstars and Main Event. Total Divas is on another package which would cost a further $12AUS. Then for the PPV each month we only pay $35AUS or $40AUS for Mania. So if I want just WWE (no Divas) plus say the Rumble and Mania its going to cost me close to $700 for the year. To get the WWE Network I would have to upgrade my internet deal to something with alot more data. Even though I only live about 40 minutes drive outside of Melbourne there are only 2 providers - the one im with; cheap and nasty, and the one Id need to go to; great quality but expensive. Im looking at $80-$120 a month just to get enough data to stream all of the content and it is just not worth getting all that compared to the cable option. Ive seen clips of some of the specials - Rivalries, WCW stuff etc and im interested but I also have about 2 dozen DVDs that cover alot of the Monday Night War, WCW, AWA etc that I can watch for free. Until the monthly PPVs become worth spending money on, Id rather pay the cable guys for the Rumble and Mania and know im getting a quality connection in full HD on my big screen TV.
  2. That's why they hire the writers. To find new ways to fuck things up. Looking forward to Ryback coming to the aid of Cameron and Naomi and taking over the 'Funkasaurus' gimmick in a feud with Xavier Woods.
  3. I miss Jim Ross because he was the last PBP guy to sound like he was calling things as they happened rather than going by a script.Compare Ross' reaction to Foley falling of the Cell to Cole's call of Ambrose/Rollins. The former sounds so genuine. You honestly think that Foley could be dead. The latter sounds like a network news anchor fill in trying to sound 'shocked' for his midweek improv class.
  4. Am I the only one that noticed they put up the wrong video for Cesaro's entrance? His main screen/titantron clip was fine but the banner at the top of the ramp read "Showtime! Percy Watson"
  5. It'll be Roman Reigns that beats Rusev and he will do it his first night back from this injury. Rusev and Lana will be bragging that he is unstoppable and Reigns walks out. Rusev wants to fight right now (thinking Roman will have some ring rust) when BAM! Superman Punch -> Spear and the match is over in 20 seconds.
  6. I think the problem they have with Itami is that these beatdowns are supposed to be getting him sympathy but they are coming from a heel team the NXT crowd loves to cheer. They need to change it ASAP. Agree with most that Titus looked great. Mostly. I think he was pretty lost when the crowd started shitting on the bear hug and you can see him asking Neville what to do to get a reaction. Heaps of potential though.
  7. Cesaro should totally ape the Desmond Wolfe, James Bond lite, gimmick. Turn him into a gun for hire, high end APA type. It'd be great. I haven't been all thet hyped for the game until this clip and the Wyatt entrance. Going to hold out until I get a PS4 though. I want that Career mode!
  8. I haven't bothered with the RKO stuff because I thought it was just a montage of all his best spots eg SSP into RKO on Bourne. Just watched it with my wife (not a wrestling fan at all) and couldnt stop laughing.
  9. I guess I enjoy Armageddon as entertainment alot more than DI. If im flicking around and I see Arma on ill usually let it run but im not going to take the same time to pick up DI on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
  10. Armageddon > Deep Impact. By a long, long, long way. Controversial opinion - The Connery Bond movies dont hold up today. They get by on pure nostalgia rather than being actually good.
  11. Didnt they change the result of that match because some Hong Kong bookie was taking bets on Mania? I think I remember reading that they were paying like 10 to 1 on a Cole victory so all the boys took up a collection and made 6 figures on the result.
  12. Baron's gonna kill you... Baron's gonna kill you... Samoa who?? Id also love a DDP guest spot to team up with Enzo and Cass one night. Those guys are so awesome haha
  13. Would've become the Smackdown Eight as Bret teamed with one of Christian, Jericho, Storm, DDP or (my personal favorite option) Tajiri.
  14. Hogan or Taker. Wouldve been easy to put the strap on either.
  15. Here's one from around that time - What if Austin's neck is too badly injured to work a full schedule? Does he still get the mega push before fading out? Does he just hang around the upper mid card only working every couple of months like a modern day Jericho? Who gets the super push as the anti establishment enemy of 'Mr. McMahon' ?
  16. How soon before Mania do we have to make the call on Shawn? Put the title on Owen and build up the "I broke your neck" stuff again? 3 way match with Taker and Kane? Either Taker goes over at the Rumble or make the Kane v Vader match from No Way Out for the interim title? That couldve put a serious dent in "The Streak" before it ever got going as an attraction. All depends on when Shawn is put out in the scenario though.
  17. And we would all be talking about "What if WWE was still around?" while watching Nitro on the WCW Network.
  18. Wish they would put this rule in the video game. 6 man tags are almost impossible to play.
  19. Del Rio vs Social Media Guy?
  20. This wouldve been incredible. Ive never heard it before but the possibilities are blowing my mind right now...
  21. Hurricane is a great call. He would be awesome in NXT as a gatekeeper ala Goldust in WWECW.
  22. That movie RULES. Best hockey movie ever made not named Miracle. Excuse me? I believe there was a little franchise called The Mighty Ducks. They might have something to say about the matter!
  23. From what I recall, he came to the conclusion that they would never seriously push him. This came on the heels of him jobbing to Drew Mac in like 2 minutes on Smackdown. From there he asked for his release. It's rumored he found out he was going to be fired, and the "asked for his release" story was put out to let him save face (Whether that's true or not, I dunno. It seems slightly more likely than quitting a job that pays better than anything else in your profession. But, I can see ki thinking that it wasn't worth it and hoping he could get enough bookings in the indys and Japan to make out ok. Might have worked out too if he wasn't so adept at burning bridges.) Well, if we go by what DB said about his brief firing after NecktieGate, Indy-famous wrestlers like Ki make more money writing their own tickets than they do jerking the curtain for Vince. Really? Things have changed then.I remember when Punk first signed with Vince and Meltz or someone asked him in an interview what he would do if they (WWE) booked him like Shannon Moore? Punk replied along the lines of "Suck it up and pay for my house in cash, like he did." implying that the money for jobbers was much better than anything on the indy market.
  24. Batman: The Brave and the Bold = The best Batman series It has the perfect balance of seriousness and camp that appeals to both the Nolan Batman fan and the Adam West Batman fan in me.
