  1. Mediocre dungeons, even duller combat than typical games in the series, bland overworld with intensely annoying random encounters (though I do love the random encounter music), and though it is unfair to ding it for this last one, it also is Not Link's Awakening, which is by far my favorite TLoZ game, unlike most of the other 2D games which look and play a lot more like Link's Awakening. Re: SMB2 (US), I'd rather play SMB2 (JPN) any day, and the latter veered toward unfair in its difficulty pretty early on in the game. I actually don't mind Nintendo's experimenting with Mario even if it has resulted in some mainline Mario platformers that I genuinely don't enjoy. As for sequels, I'm fine with a sequel being very different from its original in theory, but I really do appreciate the sequel as a refined version of what the first one offered quite a bit more in practice.
  2. Yep, undefeated Asuka vs. undefeated Nia Jax for the gold is what I want to see. Emma has been thrashing jobbers and has built an aura of toughness that will get solidified by this match with Asuka; just hanging with Asuka will make her look awesome, and we still get undefeated Asuka vs. undefeated Nia Jax...but hopefully not before months of Nia killing everyone but Asuka.
  3. I don't really buy that as an excuse. It's up to the creative minds there to figure out how to keep people away from one another and how to have segments that deviate from "twenty-minute in-ring promo," "video repeat of what we just showed you," and "repeated match from the past three weeks in twelve-minute segments." NXT has more variety in segments (control center, backstage promos, in-depth video packages to build face characters, in-ring promos, squashes, evenly-worked matches, etc.) with less time to fill than the main show does. Everything about the main show is just stale and stuck in a rut. There is a deep enough roster on the main shows that they could get seven hours of unique television a week out of them with creative booking and a re-imagining of how they present their segments.
  4. Yeah, the opinion on WWE 2K16 I'm cool with, but TLoZ 2 SUCKS. Objectively. It's a fucking truth carved in granite by whatever deity that you may believe in. Fucking game disappointed the shit out of six-year-old me almost as much as Super Mario Bros. 2 did. NOW I'M ANGRY
  5. Yeah, some of the assaultrons and advanced synths are actually harder to kill without dying than deathclaws. Mark IV turrets, too. Fuck Mark IV turrets. Deathclaws ain't shit in this game. I just used the 2078 World Series bat to knock the head of one about four hundred yards away. As someone who found the CRPG Fallouts to be precarious experiences in terms of dying and who had his share of trouble with New Vegas because of Hardcore Mode and those fucking Cazadores, Fallout 4 seems much easier. Some tips: Build initially with strength, endurance and perception for your first run. More health, better in VATS, more killing power. Just go from Sanctuary to Concord and deal with all the stuff in that area first. That should give you a good foothold for further exploration.
  6. I think it's nice that NXT is less racist than the main show or most other companies to the point that when Corbin said about Crews, "I don't like you, and I don't like your type," I thought he was talking about indie stars and not black people. Asuka might be the best booked person in the company outside of Bayley. Enzo does a pretty good serious/fired-up promo. Peyton Royce looks like a giraffe stumbling down the side of a cliff when she runs the ropes. Joe has dominated Bálor enough that I genuinely am not sure who is winning that match.
  7. Come on, the Royal Rumble being poorly booked is becoming a yearly tradition. I want to see if Vince is so stubborn that he does an even worse job of booking the show this year. I do like the fluke winner idea, but it would have to be someone who is over. They really should have just had Santino do it that year that ADR won. Ambrose winning and then having Reigns turn on him, then having Reigns goad Ambrose into putting his shot on the line at Fastlane and having Reigns go over would work. Ambrose isn't a fluke winner, but he is a guy whom no one expects to win, and we'd get that Reigns heel turn which at this point is about as mythical as the Cena heel turn amongst the internet wrestling fantasy booking crowd.
  8. Cena/HHH at WM for the title if Reigns gets hurt! YEAH! Honestly, the company outside of NXT is so bad that they've veered toward being perversely entertaining to watch, kinda like a WCW Thunder show from '99 where Kevin Nash would sit there shooting on the company all night and video packages were edited poorly or shown out of order.
  9. I think they really should have Reigns finally beat Brock after last year's match where he almost did, but ended up eating a pinfall (when really, he should have overcome Rollins too). You can run the Cena match at Summerslam and have Reigns win there as well. I mean, I wouldn't have Reigns anywhere near the WWE Championship right now, but if you're going to try to save him, beating Brock and Cena cleanly at the two biggest shows of the year is a good idea to me. Then again, he should have crushed Sheamus during the cash-in attempt anyway. Now, he's not only a guy who can't talk and whom a large portion of the crowd doesn't care about, he's a LOSER who can't talk and whom a large portion of the crowd doesn't care about. Ambrose means nothing to this company and HHH should never wrestle again. Sweet mother of mercy, can you imagine Reigns/HHH? Reigns is good enough to carry a guy like ADR, who was struggling, to a good match, but he isn't that good yet.
  10. Man, I cannot wait for the Royal Rumble next month. The obvious thing to book has a solid chance to happen (Roman wins WWE Championship, Brock wins Rumble), but I have no clue if this company will actually do that, and that crowd full of haters and smarks will be ready to tear the show apart. It could be a glorious train wreck.
  11. He DID put over Roman. No one cared because no one cares about Roman. The idea that he had some Austin-like rise is bullshit, too. They didn't try to undercut Austin throughout '97 and '98. Hell, they put Austin on TV when he was too hurt to wrestle. They sure didn't have Austin get sidetracked by being forced to become a Nation of Domination member before jobbing to Faarooq at the '98 Royal Rumble while HHH won the Rumble instead. If the WWE brings Bryan back and just has him backstage, people will get over it. If they say that Bryan can't wrestle and have Bryan say that same thing, people will get over it. I'm already over it. I expect to see one of two things re: Bryan. Either they have ignored him because they're keeping him secret as a surprise Rumble participant (2% chance), or they're sidelining him before he leaves for New Japan when his contract is up (98% chance). But if you're paying a guy, might as well use him, especially if he's very over and the fans like him.
  12. I absolutely love this idea, but it would probably give RIPPA a heart attack. That wouldn't be a very nice Christmas present for him.
  13. What can Bryan do that won't involve the mutants hijacking the show? That's the problem with Daniel Bryan, he got too over too quickly and then he never lost so he became a mythical figure who wins titles but never loses them. I don't think that Bryan in street clothes doing backstage interviews has any risk of the mutants hijacking the show, nor do I think YES chants while Bryan talks to Booker T about how successful Stardust will be against Roman Reigns on the pre-show is a big deal. And "got over too quickly" is just such an amazing thing to type that words...I can't put into them thoughts my properly like.
  14. No. Why bother? Because this is a pro wrestling message board for fans of pro wrestling to talk about pro wrestling, you poor morose soul? (Please don't cuss me out for calling you a "poor morose soul.")
  15. They should seriously have Bryan be doing SOMETHING on these shows, though. The NWA kept Magnum TA doing interviews after his car wreck. WWE can't have Bryan doing backstage stuff or pre-show of RAW stuff? Also, is everyone ready to have many of the same conversations that we've had about Bryan about Sami Zayn in another two or three years? Or about Bayley in another year or two, for that matter?
  16. Please, everyone, stop fighting! YOU'RE TEARING ME APART, LISA WWE!
  17. Reading that guide cwoy2j posted, it says that Cait likes chems. Does that mean that I can take the Party Animal perk and then just chug chems to get Cait to "Idolize" level as quickly as possible? Has anyone tried that strategy?
  18. What is the memory of your dead spouse when there are perks to be had? My character romanced Piper, and he is now trying to bang Preston.
  19. Remember just two short years ago when the rest of the Wyatts had that vibe, too? In another year, Strowman will be JAG like the rest of them.
  20. I'm just going to sound like one of the legion of creepy dudes on Twitter, but Bayley is absolutely adorable.
  21. I didn't watch, but I read that the Wyatts jobbed to Tommy fucking Dreamer in 2015. Then I laughed. Then I wished that they'd just pull the trigger on making Big E the WWE champ and give up on any other plans they have. Then I went back to watching old NWA shows on the Network.
  22. On the topic of Mid-South, since that's what I'm watching right now and that is something that I've devoured on YouTube in the past six months, what is the consensus on Butch Reed as a worker? Between his work in Mid-South and his run with Ron Simmons in DOOM, I've seen enough from him to say that he was really good. Is he typically thought of as a top-200 all-time worker from North America? Top-100? That seems high, but I don't know.
  23. This really fucks over the fans actually. I really don't think that Stampede being on or off the Network makes any difference to Vince. Sure, but I have so much to watch that I can weather it. On the other hand, Vince doesn't care about Stampede on the Network, but I'm sure he does care about getting his nose figuratively tweaked by a wrestler.
  24. Any time a wrestler can fuck Vince over, after all the times that Vince has done the same to the wrestlers, I applaud it. If Bret really did force them to take the Stampede stuff down, that's funny. It's not like it hurts Vince, really, but it's still a pretty funny "fuck you."
  25. Most of my knowledge of JYD comes from watching him in WWF (though my dad knew who he was from before, being from Texas). After watching more of him in Stampede as Big Daddy Ritter and in Mid-South over the past year or two, I've come WAY around on him. Yeah, he wasn't much in WWF or WCW (his run in '91, I think it was, was pretty dreadful). However, in all the stuff I've seen from him in the '70s right up to the mid-'80s, he has just been fantastic. Solid work in the ring and just a cool as fuck heel/lovable fighting babyface. He's one of the guys that I get excited to see pop up in a match from that era.
