  1. jaedmc, I recently saw this match for the first time. It reminds me of the WW3 match when Ultimo DESTROYED Rey. I liked the WW3 match better. Similar spots though.
  2. King Booker's gimmick was so damn solid man. Damn. So entertaining.
  3. Cool little match between Ultimo and Ron. Bobby Heenan was on top of his game during this match. Pay attention Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Ultimate Dragon on Nitro -
  4. Sweet Rock Bottom counter in this one. The Rock vs Eddie Guerrero Raw 7/22/02:
  5. Link to that? I am interested how their list compares to DVDVR's list.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQ0R0zASamQ Random find in the "What are you watching thread." And reading the comments I saw this: "Some notes from 9.12 in Roanoke for the Thunder tapings. Hayabusa was there but was only going to be put on World Wide against The Frog." - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: September 11, 2000. Anyone know anything about this?
  7. Hahaha, who are they wrestling. At the 1:30 mark, that might be the worst handspring elbow I have ever seen. And reading the comments I saw this: "Some notes from 9.12 in Roanoke for the Thunder tapings. 8. I have not looked at a single post in here. But I know my man AntiChrist better be in here when I click this reply button
  9. 9/14/98 vs. Juventud www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqhUWra0STg‎
  10. Good point Johnnyj. Konnan always speaks on WWE dropping the ball with Mistico. There should have been a few people brought along with him to WWE that were able to work his style. Instead of having him in the ring with people that have NO CLUE how to work the lucha style.
  11. Samoa Joe was recently on Stone Cold's podcast. I think you need to go listen to that. I won't spoil anything. Good show
  12. Was a waste of time/effort in my opinion. Man just looking back on it, WWE had some serious talent in the cruiserweight division. They dropped the ball.
  13. As much as people bad mouth him now, I used to appreciate listening to TAZZ on Smackdown because he didn't pretend that nothing exists outside of WWE. Watching to a match now between Eddy/Ultimo and Sasuke's name was dropped.
  14. Maybe this should go in "What are you watching" but the topic is relevant to this thread too As much as people bad mouth him now, I used to appreciate listening to TAZZ on Smackdown because he didn't pretend that nothing exists outside of WWE. Watching to a match now between Eddy/Ultimo and Sasuke's name was dropped.
  15. Solid match. Tajiri with the Muta spot at the end. - Tajiri vs Billy Kidman - Cruiserweight Championship - Backlash 2002 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMgHCwy5lns
  16. Has Jeff Hardy ever wrestled Paul London? I know yall hate Jeff Hardy around here. I always loved the dude. And I have always loved Paul London. Watching a Paul London WWE-a thon on YouTube right now. Damn this dude messed up by laughing backstage and getting caught by Vince.
  17. Interesting post. I swear the folks that does the WWE magazine have no connection to what WWE typically does. Ignore every other facet of the wrestling world. Another example. Hell they even give Tenryu and Misawa shoutouts. Koji Kitao vs. Earthquake was ackonowledged. I don't get it. http://www.wwe.com/classics/wwe-japanese-super-shows-photos
  18. Man I am trying to figure out a way. It is an English class. 8th grade. Maybe I can give one of them Flair's To Be The Man for them to read for their independent reading. I will make a way though.
  19. I teach. So it is funny that today I had a discussion with some of them about Rey. One of them was saying, "Has anybody seen Rey Mysterio without his mask. I remember one time he was in the hospital and the camera was on but they didn't show his face." Well I had to explain to them that he wrestled for a long time in WCW because he lost his mask to Kevin Nash. (He knew him as Diesel). I told him to look on YouTube and see it. But I also explained to him how the Rey HE saw wasn't really REY Mysterio Jr. I let him that that when Rey came onto the scene in 96, he was doing moves the American public wasn't used to. "If you think Rey could fly in 2006, you need to see him in 96." They were circling around me while I was explaining this and I think I will give them suggestions matches from his WCW days. Let them know that WWE isn't the only thing that exists.
  20. The OCD in me always watches that match and right after the Liger/Mysterio match. Since those were my two matches from that card. Mike Tenay did a great job talking about the history/significance of this match. One of my favorite Mike Tenay performances by far. I was a little emotional at times during this match because they talked a lot about Liger's brain tumor that he had earlier in the year. Dusty had a nice little segment in here when he talked about life and how that tumor could change Liger's outlook on life. Same with Mike. I think I prayed that Liger came back and didn't die during this time. But it was good seeing my dude back. The only thing about this match was the botched finish. But Liger beat the hell out of Mysterio during this match. Note: Yall think Dolph and Sandow had it bad. Did you know Rey lost like 5 PPV matches in a row during this time. Havoc: vs. Malenko Starrcade: vs Liger Two consecutive PPV loses to Prince Iakeua I forgot who the last one was. Maybe Syxx???????
  21. Match of the night for me. 1996 Starrcade. Ultimo Dragon vs. Deano Malenko - Significance of this match. Ultimo was the J-Crown Champion ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J-Crown ) at the time and Dean was the cruiserweight champ. So this was the Unification match of essentially all of the jr. heavyweight belts in the world. This night was special to me because my favorite wrestler of all time, Jushin Liger, wrestled Ron Mysterio Jr in a dream matchup. But this Ultimo vs. Malenko match is one of the best cruiserweight matches in WCW history. Dusty Rhodes on the mic alone makes this match worth watching. It is probably in my Top 5 from that era. Just watch how my man Ultimo walks to the ring. SO much confidence at this time. That dude was on top of the world at that time. Hope some of you can enjoy this. Just watch it later. Put it in your que.
  22. Some quick WCW matches. Nice YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/lamadredequitegross/videos?flow=grid&view=0&sort=p
  23. A. She shouldn't even have to come back to class again for the semester. In similar news I was teaching a match lesson the other day, and tried to see how over Daniel Bryan was. We were doing functions, and I wrote a graph on the board and told the kids to tell me if it was a function or not. I said write it on your dry erase board, Yes or No. So when the majority of them wrote yes, I started doing the yes chant softly with the arms. A few caught on to it. I will make it mainstream soon.
  24. The fans reaction to some of their moves showed that the kids were SO scared. Funny stuff.
