  1. I agree, just don't know if he would want to play for a bad team to end his career with or would prioritize winning after a rough last few years with the Pats.
  2. It depends, which would Belichick care more about at this stage of his career - getting to the overall wins record quicker or having control? He could get the record in two seasons with the Cowboys (three for the regular season record) and retire with every head coach record one could want, and maybe win some playoff games in the process. Less chance of that happening at any of the other current openings (except maybe Chargers).
  3. Dallas losing in embarrassing fashion would be great, I am pleased with the early results.
  4. As far as being a scapegoat, the "best" heels (which he has to be at this point) are ones that take a stance they believe in, even if its insane. In this case, I assume he means that TK/AEW wanted to get rid of Punk anyway, used the Jungle Boy incident as an excuse, and now the fans are all mad at Jungle Boy for something TK wanted to do anyway to get the heat off himself. Ergo, he was the scapegoat. (I know you weren't asking a real question, just predicting where he is going even if he never uses the "P" word) Also I don't think THAT incident had everyone sign an NDA. I'm assuming as part of TK/Punk's agreement of releasing him from his contract, Punk and TK signed something but I've never seen anything reported about Jungle Boy not being allowed to talk about it if he so chooses. Since Punk has vaguely referenced it on RAW, I assume Perry can do the same on Dynamite as long as no specifics are given.
  5. I'd like to formally announce that teams are way overusing the WR Screen and they need to stop using it as a go-to play. I don't know the official count but it felt like Miami went for it way too many times tonight and it didn't work. Defenses have figured it out, time to move on to the next new exciting play. And just so it doesn't feel like I am picking on Miami, I feel the same way about Buffalo as they went through a stretch of using it four or five times a game with similar bad results. In past years they had a fair amount of success with it but those years are gone, it needs to go back to being a special rarely-used play and not one used on a regular basis, just too much risk of a negative play if the defense is prepared for it.
  6. Funny that people are pretending not to know the difference between super cold weather vs. cold weather and two to three feet of snow and 60 MPH gusts of wind and a thundersnow storm and a literal travel ban in the area. Football fans are the least serious people on the Internet.
  7. Its not ideal but it sounds like they were more concerned about fan/traveling safety than anything else. It kinda sucks as it means whoever wins between Bills/Steelers will be playing a team with two extra days of rest the following weekend, which can matter when it comes to injuries. Hopefully they put the winner of the game on next Sunday and not Saturday so at least they don't have too short of a week. Shouldn't be an issue as the Ravens can play Saturday against another team that plays today.
  8. I don't really know who else Alabama fans realistically wanted, they (as a general mob) just seem to be shitting on every available option. There are no real red flags with DeBoer but I wonder if the fans will even give him a chance, if he loses three games next year there will probably be a petition to get him fired. I wish they had hired Lane Kiffin, at least that would have been funny.
  9. Pete Carroll continuing to complain about not being the Seahawks coach and saying he is open to coaching elsewhere. So far the Pats handled letting a long-term coach go better than Seattle, or maybe Belichick is just doing a better job than Carroll at publicly reacting to it. This reminds me of Giants/Coughlin.
  10. I watched the show and honestly its the oddest thing. There was nothing about the spots leading up to her collapse that would imply anything was wrong. She did a diving footstomp from the top rope that missed, she landed on her feet, turned around and got held/choked by Takase over the top rope. She was clearly in distress as she fell to the mat once Takase released her, rolled out of the ring and the match continued. I'm only giving these details as early word is she is doing better, she just sent out a tweet that she is doing ok. My only two theories are the diving footstomp miss vibrated up her spine but it was a delayed reaction, or Takase by accident was holding her just the wrong way over the top rope and the rope/her arm was pressing into her neck. Which would be the most freakish way for a wrestler to get injured, which sadly is usually the way it works. Hope she fully recovers quickly!
  11. KC thought they'd have the worst weather of the weekend, Buffalo said "hold my beer" https://twitter.com/weather_buffalo/status/1745548848993288354 Not sure if that will embed, but basically its going to be a shit storm on Sunday. I don't take seriously the rumors about the game being moved to a different location, but if the weather is "worst case scenario" I could see them moving it to Monday or something.
  12. As suspected, Pete Carroll no longer coaching was not really mutual even if they were nice enough to use the word. He also said the advisory role hasn't been defined at all, and I wouldn't be surprised if it just never comes about.
  13. We'll know how "mutual' it really was if he is applying for head coaching jobs by 2025. Honestly it is probably the smart thing to do. I know he was still working hard and a great coach but father time is undefeated. Hopefully they give him a real advisor role and not just an "on paper" one as I am sure he still wants to stay active.
  14. Have you ever worked a real job before? The boss can do whatever they want, rules don't apply. At my job only Friday is casual, yesterday the CEO came in wearing jeans and a hoodie. I didn't run home and change, excited about the change of policy, he can do what he wants and I can't.
  15. I'm curious enough about Hard to Kill that normally I'd order it and watch it live with my brother but who thought it was a good idea to go up against a NFL Playoff game? Even WWE doesn't try to do that, the Royal Rumble is (typically) intentionally on a night with no NFL. Should have had it on Friday night. And I know I'd be spoiled if I tried to watch it Tuesday which is the next time I'd be free.
  16. Since I don't hold grudges and only look at my own team's best interests, I'll be rooting for Miami this weekend as I'd rather the Bills face (if they win) the winner of Texans/Browns than KC. I know KC is shaky this season but everyone is and I feel like they would be super hyped to avenge their loss against the Bills.
  17. I feel like Vrabel getting fired is less about his win/loss record and more about him apparently butting heads with/wanting changes within the upper management structure.
  18. Washington is just a series of dumb mistakes. Overthrown passes, dropped passes, penalties at the wrong time. They just can't get anything going on offense.
  19. May just depend on how the QBs do on national TV tonight and what their idea of a franchise QB is. Williams and Maye everyone agrees will be top three, but I've seen mock drafts with Daniels, Penix, Nix, and/or McCarthy going in the first round (current mocks are all over the place). CBS' mock has the Giants picking Daniels. So they may be able to get a franchise QB if they stay put, unless they only grade Williams and Maye highly.
  20. Rodgers saying with a straight face that the Jets need to "flush the BS" in 2024, when he created 90% of the BS himself, is both amazing and disturbing.
  21. I'm just assuming that at some point, Flacco is going to Flacco. Unless he has a flashback to 2012, he's just been really mediocre for the last eight years, it would be unreal to me if he doesn't hit a snag. Although they can certainly beat Houston (no offense to our resident Texans fan).
  22. I think the Bills have a legitimate shot to reach the AFC Championship but man Baltimore is going to be really tough to beat. Aside from them, none of the AFC teams are overly scary and have as many cons as pros (clumping the Bills into that category too) so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some upsets and random chaos. Same in the NFC, outside of the 49ers no one has really been playing lights-out. Everything feels a lot more "open" this year.
  23. Harbaugh is such an odd case for me as he's been flirting with returning to the NFL for years and then at the last minute either the NFL team changes their mind or he does. If I was Michigan I'd just be ready for him to leave, as this yearly flirting with the NFL must be annoying as hell. He's a great coach, don't get me wrong, but at some point this yearly routine has to get old. If he wants to step right into a good situation, the only real option (right now) is the Chargers. if I was him I wouldn't even be interested in the other jobs, with his background and successes (both in the NFL and college) he shouldn't have to go to the Panthers or Commanders to prove himself. The other question of course if is Vrabel forces the situation at Tennessee, I think the Titans have the potential and could be attractive to an experienced coach but I don't think they are willing to give up personnel powers.
  24. I enjoy reading the Tua Takes on their fansite and social media. Course, feelings are raw right after a loss but he is a tough QB to really diagnose. He's a great first-read passer, and has one of the (if not the) best WRs to throw to. He's really good in general and proved this year he can stay healthy. But will he get that next big contract from Miami (in line with Burrow/Herbert), and if Miami doesn't want to give it to him will another team? I guess we are still a year a way from them having to decide but most teams would prefer to sign him this offseason if they think he's the long term plan.
