  1. The problem with people saying to take Jericho off TV until "everything gets settled" or "everything gets addressed" is we have no way of knowing if... that's it. If it just ends with a 'rumor' on a podcast and an emoji. If nothing else comes of it, what, Jericho gets pulled off TV forever? Wait two weeks staring at Twitter and there are no updates, clear his return? It just doesn't make any sense. I'd keep him on TV (or whatever the plan was) and keep going as usual, and if more comes out, go from there. But currently nothing has come out anywhere close to actionable, and pulling him from TV until a hypothetical future that things "are addressed" isn't really a solution. Jericho would be a fool to address it on his own (especially if there is a NDA), which is kinda a fool but I assume AEW's lawyers are asking him to not address it. The ball is really in Kylie's court, if it is true and she wants to address it, she will and it'll go from there.
  2. I believe they will at least start them, as historically NFL teams don't like to give their players two straight weeks off and they already have a bye after that. Maybe they tell Jackson to chill on the runs or pull him at halftime but I don't think it'll be a purely scrub affair.
  3. I didn't mind it in theory, the only thing I didn't like is they really didn't make it clear that Killswitch could give it away to anyone he wanted to. On one hand, if they mentioned that it would have tipped us off as to what would happen, but on the other hand it just felt like something they made up at the moment to fit into the storyline. I liked the match a lot, and the end result of Christian keeping the belt I have no problem with, the execution on how we got there just felt a little made-up on the spot.
  4. If it makes Lions fans feel any better, they massively messed up this call too and dramatically altered the last Cowboys drive. Not only calling it on the wrong player but the totally wrong team, the side judge didn't see correctly whose leg it was. The crew was just really, really bad.
  5. I wish in those cases they could at least do a re-do instead of the penalty. They couldn't let the play stand even though they messed up, since the Cowboys defense wasn't told who was eligible. But if there was a more useful "eye in the sky" that could quickly replay it and see he tried to declare himself, they at least could have given the Lions another go from the original spot. It wouldn't have erased their mistake but at least it would have given the Lions a better chance at the second try.
  6. Even though it was predictable, I am glad they didn't just do a swerve just to not do the story they had planned. That was probably the "right" call even if we all saw it coming, but the next few Dynamites are key to keep the story going and not let it fall flat which is where the real challenge is. That wasn't a great PPV. I really really enjoyed Mox/Eddie, and Christian/Edge was entertaining (even if the post-match was silly). Everything else ranged from 'why is this on PPV' to just good. But so many Dynamites and Collisions are stacked, it didn't feel really elevated from that and was simply missing too many of the great wrestlers in the promotion (or they were hidden in eight man tags).
  7. I understood them going for two when they were on the two as that's fine but still going for it after the penalty (and second penalty) was just insane. His defense had been playing well all things considered, his offense just had a great drive, why risk that instead of going to OT?
  8. This PPV is really hinging on The Devil storyline at this point. I have no doubt the in-ring action will be great as it tends to be but the card is really top heavy as only the final three matches feel like PPV-level matches. Hope they can deliver. I feel like Miro/Andrade is going to be ** or **** with no between, they have the ability to put on a banger but do they have the desire.
  9. Hopefully no one has me on Ignore haha people may not always agree with me but I like to think I'm fair with my takes and don't talk down to people.
  10. I like Keith Lee a lot but his health is definitely a concern. Since his illness during his WWE run he hasn't seemed to ever have a long stretch where he was 100%. I wish him well of course but I hope he is taking care of himself.
  11. To who though? Ric Flair has notable and nationally televised sexual allegations and the AEW crowd still cheered him. I know we know about the allegations against Jericho but I think we sometimes forget not everyone that watches wrestling is "always online" and from there, how many people that hear about it actually believe/care about it. I'd bet my shoe that the crowd will be singing along to Judas tonight as always, either because they didn't hear about the allegations or don't care either way. Now, if TK has knowledge we don't and is afraid this will "blow up" in the next few days then I could see him replacing him since his match isn't overly important, I just don't think based on what we know now that pulling a major star from a PPV based on something said on a podcast is necessary.
  12. I swear I'd stop watching AEW if that happened, heel owner/GM is a character I have no time for.
  13. This won't cancel Jericho, nor should it. A vague rumor from an unknown source of an event that happened four years ago shouldn't torpedo anyone's career. Now if this leads to more information/allegations that's different of course, but just what came out today alone (a unsourced podcast mention from someone with an agenda and a heart emoji from Kylie) I certainly wouldn't pull Jericho from the PPV or whatever else some want to happen. People are so fast to play judge, jury, and executioner with very little information.
  14. I like the theory, even though there have been very little on TV to hint at it, that it is two people. If Adam Cole and Britt are the Devils and it starts this weird power couple evil storyline I'd be open to seeing where they went with it. Sounds funny in my head but could be awful in reality.
  15. As a Braves fan, I feel bad about them trading away Grissom but he just never found a place in the Braves line-up and there didn't appear to be any holes opening up within the next few years that he could fill. He was just going to be a AAA/utility guy even though I do think he is talented. Hope he finds success in Boston but picking up a solid SP is a good trade for them.
  16. I think it could still work, if MJF needs time off anyway due to injuries (and to give him a TV break). Cole could be revealed as the mastermind, stomp on MJF to give him a month off or two, and by the time they build up their feud they could hold off having a match until May or June since MJF would have to "go through" the minions first. I say all that not knowing how long Cole will be out, if he will be out of action until late 2024 then that's too much time to kill.
  17. Most signs still point to it being Adam Cole, both with on screen hints (Cole encouraging MJF to keep his deal with Joe and some other smaller things) and general wrestling logic. I think if its anyone but Cole I'd consider that the swerve, and hopefully not a Russo "swerve for the sake of having a swerve" which TK generally has avoided doing in AEW's run. Either way it needs to end Saturday, I've generally found it to be fine TV but for better or worse we need a conclusion.
  18. Flacco beating a guy that died would be a pretty impressive comeback. I think people are getting a little too excited about Flacco as he is still very Flacco, but its a fun story so I don't begrudge anyone for getting into it. He definitely would have been better for the Jets than the players they'd gone with this year anyway.
  19. Mullens out too. Not a good week to be a mediocre QB on a mediocre team.
  20. If I had to pick, I'm on Team Russ in this situation. What you two are describing are slightly different situations. Sure my job can fire me whenever they want. But I think a good percentage of people if their boss came up to them and said "hey, no matter how good of a job you do, we are firing you in three months" may not work quite as hard. Its just demoralizing and discouraging for the worker. In IT I work with a lot of contactors with set end dates and they generally don't care as much or go as hard as the FTEs do, its just human nature. That being said, of course Russ continuing to play and be motivated should be the expectation. But it couldn't have been easy working under a coach that clearly doesn't want you, and already told you that you are losing your job as soon as realistic. NFL players have been whiny divas since at least the 1980s so that wouldn't have gone over well in any modern era.
  21. Sam Howell, DeVito, and Big Russ all demoted. It is that time of year that teams shake it up.
  22. Have we considered that maybe Derek Carr is just not a good QB.
  23. I loved it but its.... unique. It an odd combination of many different genres. Some tactical RPG, some deckbuilding, relationship/friendship building, it has a real identity crisis. I generally recommend it to people if minimally they like tactical RPGs like XCOM but its too unique of a game for me to recommend too enthusiastically. And its pretty long too so if you like the style you definitely get the bang for your buck. Best Buy has the enhanced edition for $20.
  24. Chase Claypool too! How do the Steelers draft so many low-effort WRs? I can't think of any other WRs off the top of my head from the last couple years that got the low-effort label except for three the Steelers drafted. Either their scouts are not noticing something or there is a real coaching/practice problem.
  25. I'm offended, OUTRAGED EVEN, that you forgot that I wrote there too during that time period. But yea Inside Pulse was quite a time, for awhile there they were really making an effort to be a major online player for wrestling. Actually I may have been writing there right after you were gone so I'm no longer offended, I take it back.
