  1. Best thing about Verizon Center: they have a $9 souvenir soda that includes unlimited refills. Most places charge $7-$8 and don't even give you one refill, let alone unlimited ones. Actually not a bad place to watch a game, kind of like a cross between WFC and First Niagra.
  2. Waiting at the Greyhound station in DC for bus back to New York. Had a hell of a night here with a large and vocal contingent of fellow Sabres fans. Outshot by a 2-1 margin and we managed to pull it out. 3 game winning streak!
  3. So it's not looking good for a first Sixers win tonight. At least they have the Knicks tomorrow so there's the golden chance to get it.
  4. Put my Sixers tix for next Wednesday on StubHub for $10. I open my email and they sent me a pair of comps for the game. So Sixers tickets=Hydra. And what the hell, I've decided to go after all.
  5. Since Houston was the last game on my parlay to win some money, I watched way too much of this shitbum game. Dwight Howard was more terrible than normal on offense, and nobody in a red jersey could hit two free throws in a row. Oh, and since those fuckers didn't cover 5.5, I didn't win any money. Fucking asshole Dwight Howard. My gambling tip of the day: Just bet against the Knicks. Easy money (would've said Sixers as well but at least they cover occasionally).
  6. While I am still overcome with grief over the closing of the Pieface near MSG, the halal carts are their to comfort me in my time of need. Thank you $5 chicken over rice platter from a grateful stomach.
  7. Now the big question: can the Knicks hold onto a 23 point ht lead? Celebrities here include Eddy Falcoe, Gerry Cooney and some guy from The Walking Dead. I think I'm the only American in my section as it's nothing but tourists. Fans actually started an MVP Chant for Melo, thus disproving the notion that NY basketball fans are knowledgeble and sophisticated.
  8. Got a ticket for this afternoon at MSG for $35 to see the Knicks lose again. Thanks StubHub! I'm dying laughing at the people trying to sell next Saturday's game vs the Sixers for $85.
  9. RJ called the first period and it seemed like we were inspired tonight. So great to hear him calling Sabres goals. Was at Avs-Devils and we had an entertaining first because it was two shit teams creating opportunities. As the game wore on each team's shittiness overwhelmed everything and the game got worse and worse. The goal the Avs tied it on was vintage Bad Cory right through the five hole.
  10. Did a swap of my Sixers ticket against Boston next week for one against Memphis on 12/13 (friend needs for that date b/c we are doing dh with Flyers that day). They sent me two tickets for that game back. Good on them for doing me a good deed, but I'm guessing inventory is plentiful these days. BTW Cole Miner keep posting Sixers updates b/c I want to stay in the loop for my second favorite team and I couldn't afford the NBA Center Court package.
  11. The fact that the Qatar is being greenlighted for the World Cup shows FIFA's basic contempt for humanity. I don't care how old he'll be , if these bastards do end up hosting I want Robbie Rodgers on our roster to show them our contempt.
  12. Kinda off topic but I went to the first ever game for the Westchester Knicks vs the 87ers (was exhibition) last night. Really enjoyed it, D-League is fun. What's interesting is seeing which guys play a team game and which guys are trying to get themselves noticed/grab the spotlight. If I were a GM I'd like to think I'd be able to see through that.
  13. Saw on Twitter that McDavid may have broken his hand in a fight. This is stupid beyond words. There are certain players who you never want involved in a fight for any reason, and he clearly is one of them. One of his teammates should've jumped in immediately, third man in penalty be dammed. This reminds me of the Isles earlier this year when Tavares was fighting his team's battles. It was admirable but stupid because there were plenty of less valuable guys who could fill that role. If JT and some jabroni end up in the box it's clear who wins in that exchange.
  14. The Westchester Knicks are probably the best pro basketball team MSG owns (Liberty are a close second).
  15. I dunno. Getting blown out 1st round after winning the Supporters Shield sucked pretty bad. Fair enough but to me what makes 2012 worse was that we should've won, it was against the scum, and their oblivious fans spent the entire time complaining about the injustice of having to play the first leg at home after the worst disaster in a generation hit our area. Them crying about it to this day sickens me. But those motherfuckers got some justice today. When the final whistle blew a friend handed me a Modelo tall boy and it was the best beer EVER.
  16. One half of keeping the scum from scoring. One fucking half, that's all I ask. If we lose this it will be 10x worse and more painful than 2012.
  17. Rick Jeanerette just announced on the Sabres broadcast that he has been declared cancer free. Nobody who was watching had a dry eye, including me and the announcers.
  18. So Andrew Wiggins looks like something special. Brook Lopez looked like he was posessed by Yinka Dare, and for the Nets sake I hope its just rust. Seriously he looked awful.
  19. Insert Prawn Sandwich joke here. :-)
  20. Game was a total crapfest, made even worse by hordes of people who got comps and didn't give two fucks that they were at a hockey game. Blues at least have the excuse that half their team is injured and that they played the night before. Don't know what the Devils excuse is other than that they are dreck.
  21. But people in hell DO have air conditioning because it fucks with ozone layer (if I were more tech savvy I'd post the image of Billy Chrystal as Satan)
  22. Was at Nets home opener tonight. All I really learned is that without Durant and Westbrook OKC are pretty terrible. And hey, at least the Sixers were competitive tonight.
  23. You were playing what might be the single worst squad in NHL history. Losing to us in any fashion is a disgrace at this point, so you obviously didn't play good enough to win.
  24. The original logo was going to be a homophobic mob beating a gay man to death but Qatar already called dibs on that.
  25. That wasn't even the most impressive feat the scum fans pulled off yesterday: they actually set a record by holding a 2 hour moment of silence (don't know exactly who it was for but it was touching nonetheless).
