Ugh. I rewatched the Top Flight-YB match last night and spent half the match saying to myself "D'von's kids don't look or wrestle anything like I thought they would." Halfway through the match, I finally reached for my ipad and googled them - only to realize I'm confusing Top Flight with TNT (the team that wrestled on Dark and are D'von Dudleys kids). Sometimes, I am dumb. On the positive side, I liked Top Flight a good deal. They remind me a little too much of Private Party, but I'd be fine with giving them all of Private Party's tv time, so it's not an issue,

Really looking forward to the women's War Game match, though it seems likely the makeup of the teams is really going to highlight how short on talent the women's Survivor Series elimination match is. I'd be wishing for the NXT women to be called up, but I kinda think Kai, Shirai, Ripley, Le Rae, etc. will all end up being poorly used on the main roster. Glad to see Finn back, but they really made him seem unimportant by giving him 60 secs of air time before bringing out the real stars of the segment. The show-ending brawl was appropriately chaotic but the it was odd to give the faces the numbers advantage. No interest in seeing a Pat Pack-UE Wargames match, if that's where this is headed.

Someone on here called Hobbs turn a week or two back on the grounds that he kept running out just a bit too late to make the save during a heel beatdown. Nice call. Death Triangle has my attention, but not a lot of interest in seeing those three work babyface. Hopefully they revert to heels sooner instead of later.

I'll check out Giant Bomb. Thanks. I think i listened to the Giant Bombcast once and enjoyed it. I'll probably have to find some new gaming podcasts when we get through the pandemic. I kind of gave up on my my regular rotation of podcasts when the pandemic started and will probably search out some news ones when things settle down. If nothing else, lol, the pandemic was useful for finally getting Retronauts out of my regular rotation. I know Bob and Jeremy seem to be beloved by the community, but... not my thing.

Apparently, the answer is because Brando. Admittedly, that's not an entirely terrible reason. The story goes that director Arthur Penn couldn't control Brando and eventually just gave up and let Brando do whatever he wanted on the set, both in front of the camera and off-camera. Brando reimagined the character and went and did a completely ridiculous take on the character and, because he's Brando, no one stood up to him. Supposedly, even a lot of Clayton's dialogue was improvised, as was the wacky mace/harpoon weapon Clayton used (allegedly, Nicholson complained about Brando reading his lines off cue cards, so Brando started improvising. Because... Brando). The studio wasn't happy either, but Missouri Breaks was shot just after the Godfather, so everyone ultimately sat down and shut up and let Marlon do his thing. I enjoy the film and Brando's performance, but I also sit there going "So, you thought this was the best thing for the film, huh?" Clayton's accent is something else. He goes in and out of it a in a couple places, and at one point, I think he slips into a Welsh accent. Just... lol. Ultimately, he probably hurt the film and his bank account. Nicholson and Brando agreed to do the film for a million or so each, plus a percentage of the gross over a certain amount ($10-$12 million, depending on which actor's contract we're talking about). The film tanked and only made about $14 mil in the US.

I get Mandy's injury angle - Meltzer says she hurt her shoulder when Nia tossed her out of the ring the previous week (complete accident; Mandy got tangled in the ropes and landed awkwardly) but I don't get why they took Dana out of play. Except, y'know, Vince. Didn't Mandy and Dana qualify by winning a tag match? So leave Dana in and replace Mandy? Mandy and Dana have been a team for a month or so. It's not like Dana kayfabe can't go on without her. Expecting the women's elimination match to be awful. Company's kinda thin on decent female workers right now and two of them are in a singles match. Don't remember what Bayley's doing. Not that it matters. I'm guessing the match isn't much besides a way to advance the Nia/Lana angle - probably with Lana being the surprise survivor and either standing up to Nia or getting her respect (probably the former), I don't really want to know where they go from here with the Lana angle. I don't think Lana can sustain a push without a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Saw figures for Japanese week one sales of Xbox Series X/S and PS5. In Japan, the Series X/S sold 21,000 units and the PS5 sold around 118,000 units. The PS5 sold out, so that's all the consoles they could have sold without a bigger allocation. By comparison, the PS4 sold 320,000+ consoles during it's first week in Japan. Maybe the talk about Sony de-prioritizing the Japanese market is true. Miles Morales and Demon's Souls were the biggest software sellers last week in Japan. 18,000 units each. That just seems to be retail sales and doesn't include digital downloads from the PSN store. The person who tweeted out the figures seemed to be hinting that the week one figures weren't impressive, but I don't follow sales figures enough to know how accurate that is.

Anyone got any suggestions for good review sites? Mostly looking for sites that put that put their reviews up on Youtube, so I can listen to reviews while I multitask. I listen to a hodgepodge of news sites and a few people (mostly IGN, Gamespot, Easy Allies, Kotaku, Eurogamer. plus a few youtubers like Get Indie Gaming and ACG). I don't take scores too seriously. Just mostly want to get a feel for the game and pick up some interesting context. Honestly, my favorite review site right now might be Nintendo Life, but that's at least partly because the guy that narrates most of their video reviews has a great voice (if I sounded like him, "Hello, lovely people" would be my standard greeting when I entered a room).

I thought it was a combination of the three, with an emphasis on physical issues. Her last "appearance" on Dynamite was the Jan. 15 show where she was scratched at the last minute ("not medically cleared" was the reason given) and replaced by Brandi. She appeared on Dark a few weeks after that and did an angle where Mel and Dr. Luther beat up her after a match and "injured" her, but that seemed to be kayfabe to write her out (Kong wasn't involved in the match itself). Glow did go back to shooting in March, so that may have been part of it. They only filmed one episode before the pandemic shut filming down. Never noticed that before, but he does, doesn't he?

Honestly, I think we're all feeling salty these days. I mostly feel like I haven't been able to relax and take a breath since.... February? January? Pandemic fear is eating me alive most days. I don't sleep much and wake up most mornings wondering if I can get through the day and holding my breath for whatever bad news the day brings. I'm definitely feeling a lot edgier than I used to.

Stayed up way too late last night playing Miles Morales. Seems extremely well-done on all levels. Runs and looks great on PS4 Pro. Told it runs and looks great on PS4 slim. I'll pick up the deluxe edition with the remaster of the original game when I get a PS5, but, for now, the PS4 edition is enough for me. Both Spider-Man games have done a nice job with the writing. I didn't expect to be this interested in the character, and I said the same thing about Peter Parker in 2018. Just heard that Super Mario 3D All-Stars got an update that supports the GameCube controller. Guess I'll be ordering a GameCube adapter tonight. I think I'm more excited about playing Super Mario Sunshine Remastered with the proper controller than I am about most of the PS5/Xbox Series news. Speaking of Switch, has anyone seen or heard anything lately about a Switch Pro? I heard a rumor a while back that an updated Switch console was coming in 2021, but nothing concrete since. And, honestly, I see a lot of wild Switch rumors online and most of them are fake. My wife doesn't game but has fallen in love with the Animal Crossing and seems interested in some other cutesy Switch games. Thinking of getting her her own Switch, but not sure I want to buy a new console if an upgraded model is coming out in, say, March. Then again, she'd probably prefer the limited Animal Crossing console to standard color job, so....

Speaking of Dave, I started following him again on Twitter last Friday and already regret it. I have no idea how he gets his work done. He responds to most everyone who trolls him and usually out-trolls his trolls (which of course provokes more troll responses). This is at least the fourth or fifth time I've followed him on Twitter and I never last long. I really hope he's doing a character on social media because he comes off as a condescending ass. I'm guessing he is doing a wacky character because he seems far less noxious in the Observer, podcasts, etc.
