  1. Wish Beau had found it in his heart not to ruin that photo with his information.
  2. I think it's more than fair to say the face/heel dynamic is more blurred than it should be, and Lucha Bros aren't the only example. The crowd booing the heels would certainly be helpful. That being said, @Robert, if you want people to read your opinions, take them seriously, and discuss them, it would go over a lot better if you refrained from calling people children, crazies, and idiots. People are sensitive enough about AEW criticism as it is.
  3. The sky isn't falling and I don't see a real long-term effect, but if you're trying to do the "send the fans home happy" segment, shouldn't you be putting your top babyface(s) over and not the non-wrestling owner who doesn't appear on TV? The logic of WWE's McMahon-focused missteps still applies here: if this time is being used to have fun with Tony, the time is not being used to put a wrestler over. It doesn't matter if it's "just" a post-show segment. It's ringtime. It's the last thing the live crowd sees. It can be used more effectively. I'm not (and I don't think anyone was) saying "this is just as bad as the McMahons!!!!" I'm saying it's a misstep. Give the wrestlers some shine instead of having fun with the AEW universe.
  4. That's pretty much the only plausible way to address what the biggest storyline hole is right now, which is "What the fuck is up with Cody and Brandi"
  5. The whole "You accept Rey Mysterio, so why can't you accept every small wrestler" presupposes that every small wrestler knows how to work for their size like Rey. I don't hate Marko Stunt, but I also haven't seen anything at all from him that suggests he belongs in a national promotion.
  6. Even sillier - you forgot the "Old Glory" Knee Drop!
  7. Meltzer has his head up his own ass regardless of which wrestling promotion he's talking about. He's valuable as a historian but I don't know why people lend so much weight to his opinions on current wrestling. His influence, which is all over every US promotion if not worldwide, has been very negative overall as far as what I personally am looking for in a wrestling product. I look forward to the day that wrestlers are more concerned with telling logical stories in the ring with psychology than they are with chasing his star ratings.
  8. I don't disagree, but I do think it's odd to single her out in a company that relies heavily on those kinds of spots. Vince McMahon, is that you?
  9. This is the Jose Takeover match I referred to on the last page. The chatter surrounding Aries's run suggested that he was already complaining loudly backstage by this time, so this might have been some kind of punitive demotion.
  10. Am I the only one that thinks a wrestling dentist is a really stupid gimmick?
  11. The post Burgundy was referencing wasn't yours. It was this one:
  12. Praising and/or defending just about anything WWE does/has done can really be an uphill battle here. I tend to agree with like 85% of the issues people have with WWE programming, but there are still people that will call me a contrarian troll or disingenuous for not being on board with the other 15%. I can certainly see why sharing a positive opinion would seem daunting.
  13. I was pretty much told to stop watching AEW when I complained in that thread, so I don't really know what you're getting at.
  14. I'm guessing, but I doubt they script the foreign languages word-for-word (or if they do, no one bothers to check the actual translation to see if it's being adhered to). I'm sure whenever people are permitted to be let off the leash even a little bit, they really throw themselves into it. If they continue down this road, though, the "What" chants from the objectively terrible people in the crowd will become an issue again. Maybe let the faces do the bilingual talking, and let the heels get heat in a less uncomfortable way?
  15. God damn it, I knew I had forgotten about something this week.
  16. Can you see why me just vocalizing my thoughts on the librarian isn't the same thing as me saying the show's bad? This isn't even a show-specific thread. And no, I wasn't saying Sabian should be in the exact same role as Avalon. It isn't about the role - it's about the time. Technico Support said he doubts that the time spent on the librarians could be used more effectively to get other talent over - I vehemently disagree. If Avalon's role is to be a jobber, and they have no other plans for him, it doesn't make sense to give him as much screen time and mic time as someone they have plans for.
  17. The creepiest part is that you *will not stop*, no matter how many people tell you what a fucking weirdo you're being. Nobody is taking the initiative to "prove you wrong" (which literally can't be done because good matches are subjective) because nobody here actually thinks Britt is a good worker and no one said she was. It's also very clear that even if someone bothered to list three of her matches they liked, you still wouldn't stop talking. We aren't telling you to shut up because we're Britt Baker fans, we're telling you to shut up because you're coming off like an enormous creep. Find some self-awareness. If you aren't looking to start any shit on here, LET IT THE FUCK GO. We all know how you feel because you go on for pages about it every time she's brought up. Nobody cares. Move on.
  18. Who was doing that? Was it me, when I suggested that the overexposed librarians cede their screen and mic time to Kip Sabian? Can you explain why you think that constitutes a burial?
  19. The way people reacted to me taking issue with one aspect of creative (accusation of trolling, literally telling me not to watch the wrestling show they desperately want to succeed) should tell you all you need to know about whether people are drinking Kool-Aid or not. *I* want AEW to succeed too, y'all. That doesn't mean their show is perfect. That doesn't mean we can't point out areas that they could improve just like we do for literally every other wrestling show or match.
  20. "Complain about nothing or stop watching" isn't how discussion threads work. The WWE threads are pages and pages of complaints, I'm sure everyone here can handle me saying they should pull the mic out of Peter Avalon's hand. Get a grip.
  21. The list of racist wrestlers is very long. I think the Hogan stuff is just people having a pre-existing distaste for him.
  22. It isn't even really a tombstone when the recipient is taking a flat-back bump.
