  1. I still have nightmares, not dreams, about 1995. Let's not bring that up.
  2. Also, if they are interested in promoting ability over looks then Brandi probably shouldn't be winning matches or featured in a prominent wrestling role.
  3. Chris Hero posted this match on his Twitter. So much fun...
  4. i don't think PAC or Scurll are big enough names to give them a holy shit moment that they will want on the first show. I'm not saying that they can't show up and be important. Almost everyone except maybe Jericho will need some kind of history video or interview or vignette introducing them to the TV audience.
  5. Maybe we are just seeing 2 different things. I don't follow the indies so I had never seen the Super Smash Brothers. However, the Dark Order give these spooky evil promos. They have the creepers. But at no point looking at these two do i think they are evil or spooky or sinister. I don't believe it. I really enjoyed watching them at FFTF but they don't wrestle or act like evil / creepy/ spooky characters. They wrestle like assholes. Grayson plays to the crowd after every big spot. Uno does cheap heel spots. I love that shit so cut promos as a couple of assholes, not lords of darkness. I agree Grayson needs a new costume. I don't think Uno needs a new costume or new mask. He does need some new shiny boots though. Someone mentioned it above and maybe it is the company's fault that their darkness cues were off. Either way, it was ill conceived and the crowds have reacted to them with apathy. The big reaction at DoN was a "Who are you?" chant. At FF, the post tag match angle died a death. They were the least over tag team at FFTF in their match. What do you think the proper course of action is if they don't need a new gimmick? Stay the course as spooky, evil dudes? Let their wrestling win people over even if people are initially apathetic? Just dress em up in new costumes?
  6. I actually read this earlier and was going to post it. Seems like mainstream media sources are catching on to the problems plaguing the company.
  7. Yep, the Dark Order still need a new gimmick.
  8. I think the idea of a buffer guy is the natural instinct to having "Tye Dillinger" in a featured role. I don't think they sign Tully Blanchard for several shows, give Spears the interview with JR, and keep arguing that WWE didn't know how to utilize talent if the endgame was a buffer. I think they are going to try and get him over as a main event player.
  9. I think they have already gambled on some of the talent in the way they have booked already. If we break it down, these are the guys I think nobody would argue are the main event guys... Jericho, Moxley, Omega, Cody. You could add the Young Bucks and Lucha Bros at this level as well even if they are in the tag division but would anyone be surprised if Penta or one of the Bucks picked up a win against a main event guy? Page and Spears are the two guys they are going to push immediately to get to that level. In three shows, the main event guys have had competitive matches with Dustin Rhodes, Joey Janela, Darby Allin and CIMA. Page had a competitive match with Kip Sabian. MJF is being primed for a main event slot. We can disagree with guys like Spears getting an opportunity to be put in the upper echelon but I don't think we can say they are holding guys back. If anything, maybe they are making everyone too competitive. If everyone is special, nobody's special. That's the worst case scenario for this company.
  10. Oh shit... that's pretty great.
  11. DDP was 40 when he finally clicked with audiences. If Spears fails as a character and draw, it wouldn't surprise me. However, there's no real harm in giving him the shot. If he catches on, it really helps the perception that WWE doesn't know how to get the full potential out of its talent and makes AEW that much more attractive to free agents. If he gets over, it's one more guy to throw into the main event mix to keep a steady stream of programs on weekly TV. If he fails early, then you have a good hand who can help young talent and make him a gatekeeper for people on the rise. If he fails early, they can always spin it that they will give people a fair shot and let talent rise or fall on their merits. The only concern would be if they continue to push him after he bombs (like Baron Corbin) despite the feedback from the fans.
  12. I have no idea. What GM hooked him up?
  13. Dude, how many siblings does Giannis have? The whole league is going to have at least one Antetokounmpo on the roster.
  14. If DDP didn't exist, I would agree with every criticism about Spears said in this thread. However, DDP was on the wrong side of 30 when he started wrestling. Was he even considered a good hand? He had the great match with PIllman before his breakthrough but people always credit Pillman. I'm not saying Spears is the next DDP but I want to see them try.
  15. Reports say that the Lakers are an unlikely destination for Smith. Just read it on Twitter. I think it was Woj.
  16. This absolutely feels like a precursor to PAC coming in down the line or upset PAC dropped out early. I know I am a few days late. Just catching up.
  17. Amazingly well! It's the most entertaining thing they have going... with all credit to the performers pulling it off.
  18. Damn dude, now I'm depressed. This is such a perfect description for my life.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 24/7 belt was a network idea, not a WWE idea. Am i right on this?
  20. How much of OKC's failure do you put on the coach? Just curious.
  21. Man, I have never seen such negativity towards the pairing of 2 superstars in my life. Westbrook and Harden both took home an MVP in 2 of the last 3 years. Maybe it will be a complete trainwreck (I'm hoping) but it could also be the single greatest backcourt in NBA history. I didn't think it could happen but the NBA just got even more interesting. Hell, I may order a league pass this year to watch all the insanity.
  22. I don't watch WWE programming but I started following Drake Maverick, his wife, and Truth on Twitter because of this title. I can't believe they haven't locked up Drake's wife yet. The entire saga has been gold.
  23. Toronto will absolutely retire Kawhi's number.
  24. Spurs get Marcus Morris for 2 years/20 mil
