  1. Am I crazy for thinking this entire thing was just pretty condescending? It felt more like a commercial for the company in attempt to fight there recent reputation with just talking about how innovative they are when they haven’t made a great game in 6 years, and have became notorious for bad game direction decisions. So what is the Dragon Age announcement. Well, here are some screen shots/artwork, you know, the exact same type of bullshit we tried to use to make people excited for Andromeda! I may be bitter.
  2. I legit am not sure if that would make the match worse.
  3. Good god damn, that NXT Title Match is between 4 of my least favorite wrestlers going and I'm almost wanting to hate watch it because going through the AWA set is making me too happy.
  4. Being real, I don't even think this would be a twist. It's just the obvious conclusion. Like the real twist to me would be Batman IS dead, and it really is on the Bat Family to take over everything on this. That would be significantly more interesting then "Batman faked his death again!"
  5. Braniacs ship is in the background, and Supes eyes were pink/purple. I'm 99% sure we are dealing with mind control, and they actually can't kill any of the Justice League, and end up just ending the mind control.
  6. I mean, who says PAC wouldn’t join Kingston? I could see him fitting in that group very well.
  7. Yeah, super in for this. Batgirl and Nightwing are personal favorites, though I would love for alternate versions of the characters, or a Black Bat or Spoiler run. But yeah, super down.
  8. Remember when this board would actually debate things, so you had to lay out your opinion and explain your reasoning behind it because this place was supposed to be about actually fucking discussing wrestling? Those were the days.
  9. That’s fair, and thank you for acknowledging the point I was trying to make then do what DFA did, you which once again made me go “what fucking board am I on again cause that’s some reddit squared circle bullshit”. My main point was generally in a lot of Ligers prime years the stuff that made TV was stuff from touring events they put onto things from my memory, and that’s a different style of work. And while I do agree the numbers are skewed by the chances Mysterio got due to WWE, my points for him would be A: He was still mostly working, at most, 1 TV match a week in that era due to the brand split and B: His batting average was crazy high in terms of hits to misses. As for the variety of opponents, I can go into that when I get off work (if I’m awake enough to do so), but I continue to be confused by the complaint that Rey, a 5’3 150 at max pound man almost constantly worked underneath babyface, especially when he was generally fantastic at mixing up the spots in his match to keep the momentum switches interesting. The only wrestler going at the time in the US that I think I could claim at keeping his spot progressions natural in an unscripted sort of way better then Rey Mysterio is Christian, and Christian was great.
  10. Man, comparing Stan Lane to Billy Gunn, your doing Stan fucking dirty. Gunn was perfectly passable, but Lane was at least a pretty good singles guy, and a billion times better then Gunn in tags.
  11. Justin Liger was at no point in his career save for his run in WCW a television match worker. There is not really a great equivalent in Japan to a “television match worker” either, at least from what I’ve seen, as that is basically its own genre of worker over here (admitted said genre has died as time has gone on due to complete over saturation of the market. Casas is someone I’ve been watching more of lately, and is legit amazing, so I will say I can’t really comment on him in this context other then say he feels like he’s usually just put in six mans so much it’s harder to count it. Now, he is almost universally the best part of those six mans, but Rey has loads more good singles matches on tape that I am aware of. And if Negro Casas does have the hundreds of good singles matches it would take to enter the discussion with Rey available in one spot someone hook me the fuck up please. As far as some other thoughts brought up against Rey: For Rey being a shitty heel: as someone who loves versatility in his wrestlers, there are exceptions that prove the rule. Any and all bookers that would push Rey as a heel are idiots that deserve to be fired out of a cannon into the sun. Rey never should have been a heel to begin with. And in regards to the 619, I’ve always felt that was a weird hill to die on for a lot of fans, especially modern fans when everyone and there other has a weirder transition to a spot. The Rebound Lariat always felt significantly dumber then this for example. But I can’t argue against it in any way outside of: It just doesn’t bother me at all.
  12. Keep in mind Eddie and REDACTED were only a regular TV workers for about 10 years. Eaton for about 15. Rey has been doing it for 25. He got legit fun matches out of Mike Fucking Knox in that time frame too.
  13. CM Punk. Batista. Fucking Kurt Angle even. And are talking "all time" top 5 lists? Cause boy do I have a GWE ballot of mine to show you were he is my number 1. Here's a challenge for you any of you. Name a wrestler who with a higher quantity of good television matches with a wider range of opponents then Rey Mysterio. I am going to have to wait a very very long time for there to be an answer to this question. since the answer is "there isn't any" nor is there anyone close. Fuck it I need sleep before I go on a multi paragraph rant.
  14. Multiple people coming forward saying they think Rey is over rated has never made me feel more disconnected from the board then I do now.
  15. It seems to have pissed people in St Louis County off, so I completely approve.
  16. Thought Jericho was pretty rough today. The Dragon Screw sell originally was so weak Orange went to do it again, and Jericho solid it the exact same way. I've seen Orange do the roll up he was going for as a finish multiple times, and Jericho literally fell the wrong direction to make the spot work, which is a fucking problem for the finish of the match. Liked everything I got to see before that on the show though, though it wasn't top to bottom the same level of show. as last week.
  17. I would like to point out that the last 2010’s 1st overall picks have gone to Edmonton, Edmonton, Edmonton, Colorado, Florida, Edmonton, Toronto, New Jersey, Buffalo, and New Jersey. If the NHL is rigging things they sure do like giving the picks to non major media markets for hockey, with one exception.
  18. Consider me in the same “I’ll believe it when I see it” boat regarding Mass Effect. I’d be excited but I’d have concerns even if it did come out: 1. How much do you overhaul Mass Effect was to make it fit with the other 2? Cause I still kind of love how open 1 is even if it’s clunky as shit. Like I don’t get how you redo one without making it a much worse game? 2. What are they going to actually add to multiplayer? Because I’m not even sure if they can convince me it will be better the. OG ME3’s multiplayer is, especially on PC were kidders have added completely new maps to the game. 3. Just general distrust of BioWare now. The last game I think I would rate as great was DA:I and that came out a long damn time ago now. Andromeda was fun but was mostly missed potential, and fuck Anthem to death. Unless it’s just a graphical upgrade, I’m not sure if they could actually legitimately improve these games as the studio they are now.
  19. The Bruins/Canes game has been moved to tomorrow because this game won't fucking end.
  20. Between the forward core and the wings, all the Rangers really need now is a significantly better defense and a 2nd line Center.
  21. Perfectly happy with the Rangers winning it. Some will bitch cause New York, but I'll take it over the Hawks, Oilers, or Penguins.
  22. You know, I can understand why some disagree I guess, but i'll never get the idea that Shelton Benjamin was massively misused by the WWE. They built him up slowly in a tag team, gave him a big win over Triple H and had a good match with Shawn, and that was basically it. He wasn't a good promo, and his resume as a high level wrestler is pretty damned limited. Basically, I always thought D'Lo was a better "this guy should have gotten a bigger push" guy then Shelton.
