  1. Three new matches have been added to the show: Abyss vs. Yoshihiro Takayama Satoshi Kojima vs. Yasufumi Nakanoue Gail Kim vs. Madison Rayne
  2. When TNA did their announcement of the W-1/TNA joint show the BroMans weren't in the line-up but when W-1 did their announcement a few days later (and mind you the UK tour was done at that point) the BroMans were mentioned as working the show and are currently still being advertised for the show. I originally thought that meant TNA changed their minds about having The Wolves as champs and that's why they decided to send the BroMans to Japan as well, but I guess not. They just decided to delay the title switch and not do it in the UK, for whatever reason.
  3. In TNA the last time was 2010 when the X Division title switched hands at house shows twice in the span of three days. The Global title was also switched at a house show that year.
  4. The Wolves won the TNA tag titles at a house show tonight so your new tag team title match for the show is Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards vs. Kaz Hayashi & Shuji Kondo.
  5. I remember that whole deal. In fact, I remember it quite well as it featured one of my favorite Scott Steiner moments in TNA. Before his comeback match Disco was doing a sitdown interview with Tenay where he was claiming he's going to be making a big comeback. Tenay was doubting him but Disco was being super serious about it. Then right at the end Steiner casually walked in, took a quick look at Disco, said "Give it up" and walked away. It was just so hilariously random. I still crack up a bit thinking about it. As you said though, that whole Disco comeback was in no way meant to be taken seriously. It was a promotional deal with The Comebacks movie (which was a comedy spoofing sports movies).
  6. Bobby Roode vs. Masakatsu Funaki and Bad Influence (Kazarian & Christopher Daniels) vs. Junior Stars (Minoru Tanaka & Koji Kanemoto) have been added to the W-1/TNA card.
  7. The title challengers for the joint W-1/TNA show were determined at today's W-1 show. It's going to be: Magnus vs. KAI for the TNA World Heavyweight title The BroMans vs. Shuji Kondo & Kaz Hayashi for the TNA World Tag Team titles Austin Aries vs. Seiya Sanada for the TNA X Division title
  8. Jarrett talks for the first time since leaving TNA:
  9. The last time Curry Man was around a couple months ago wasn't it TJ Perkins aka Manik doing it? Nope. It's always been Daniels.
  10. Daniels has always been and still is Curry Man. It was him under the mask this week too.
  11. W-1 just made their official announcement regarding the TNA talent working the show. It's the same 11 guys TNA mentioned in their release + Jessie Godderz and Robbie E.
  12. Beware. Should you watch part 1 it would be close to impossible for you to ever think about YOSHI-HASHI without "Tacos!" popping up in your mind.
  13. Sting would have to re-sign to make that possible and even if he did - there is no guarantee he would work the Japan show. He almost never did the foreign tours because they would have had to pay him extra. Last year they got him to agree to go because of the screw up with Jeff Hardy and that wasnt exactly the easiest thing for them to work out. You seem to have misunderstood/misread that part of my post. I wasn't referring to the Japan show. I was referring to Muta (presumably) wrestling at TNA Lockdown in Miami. And as I was saying, Sting being an opponent for Muta is sadly no longer an option (unless Sting re-signs).
  14. I'm digging this, but then again I usually dig cross-promotional events like this one. TNA is sending a pretty good crew so that's a positive. No big names but plenty of quality talent. I am somewhat surprised Rob Terry is not part of the crew though. He's already done two full tours with W-1 and is yet to lose a match in Japan. Why build him up and not use him on the big show? Not that I'm complaining. Just wondering. Anyway, this is a pretty big gamble on W-1's part. This is their first really big show and Sumo Hall is a big building. It seems like they're putting too much stock in TNA's popularity in Japan and I hope that doesn't come back to bite them on the ass. Also, cool news about Muta and Sanada at Lockdown. As old and broken down as he may be, I always enjoy watching him do his thing. I wonder who they'll put them against. Sting and another guy vs. Muta and Sanada would have been the perfect option, in my opinion, but alas that seems to be off the table now.
  15. This particular episode was 1.55 million average viewers, their highest viewership in a year.
  16. No idea, since it wasn't listed in the top 100 cable shows for the night (in the 25-54 demo). However, the 7pm episode of Cops was listed right at the bottom of the chart and it did about a million viewers so perhaps the one right before Impact did better viewership than that (but did worse in the demo)?
  17. The quarter hour breakdown is kind of interesting, especially since most people figured the Sting match is what lead to the ratings bump but in reality:
  18. No. He's still a Zero1 guy who also wrestles in other promotions.
  19. A more newsworthy W-1 show than usual so I figured I'd make a topic about it. Manabu Soya made his debut and is the new on-screen W-1 matchmaker (for the time being). Kazushi Miyamoto also made his debut and appears to be the new "gold and money" wrestler they had been advertising. The results: Some photos from the show:
  20. Indeed. I thought the schedule was TV in Ireland, TV in Scotland, ONO x 2 in Birmingham and London, and then TV in Manchester? Because guys with Southern accents (or Mid-Atlantic accents in Magnus' case) don't have a problem getting over as heels up North, like. The current schedule is: a house show in Ireland, three double TV tapings (Glasgow, Manchester, London) and a One Night Only PPV taping (Birmingham).
  21. Jarrett had nothing to do with Gut Check. The house show version was run by D'Lo Brown (or Simon Diamond sometimes) and the TV version was all Al Snow and Bruce Prichard.
  22. or C. They've never actively tried to sell it but they've always been willing to listen to offers. Someone came in with an offer but the offer wasn't high enough.
  23. He tweeted during the show that "the GPS wasn't working" so he had to use the map.
  24. Rusev always speaks in Bulgarian, and Lana speaks in Russian. I thought she spoke in Russian. However, I know nothing about Bulgarian so I thought there may have been a similar language crossover -- Ukrainian and Russian are essentially interchangeable. Bulgarian is from the same group of languages so there are certain similarities between Bulgarian and Russian but nowhere near as much as with Ukrainian and Russian. If you know Bulgarian or Russian you can understand certain phrases and words from the other language, but overall they're clearly different languages. Anyway, neither Rusev or Lana have said anything all that interesting in their promos so far. It's been mostly Lana talking about how great and powerful Rusev is and Rusev talking about dominating dudes and going after the NXT Title. I guess the most interesting thing to come out of their promos so far was from this one promo from Tout where Lana said that Lefort kept stealing Rusev's MONAY~! and Rusev proclaimed that to be the reason why he dumped Lefort as his manager.
  25. Rusev always speaks in Bulgarian, and Lana speaks in Russian.
