It says a lot about the current state of the B1G that Minnesota could be considered a quality win there.

ND fans are putting a bit too much stock in that loss to FSU right now. Yeah, they played 'em close, but you know who else played FSU close? Oklahoma State. Clemson. NC State for a bit. I don't know that that means what it did last year when they were winning every game by 30 or 40. You know who else ND played close? North Carolina.

And indeed it was! Easily the best episode of the series so far. (No Fish/Falcone stuff does wonders.) I think it did a lot for Bullock and gave them somewhere to go with him as a character moving forward. And Logue and Mackenzie are getting close to having something akin to chemistry. Everything that happened in the abandoned theatre set was beautiful. But, boy, do the directors of this show LOVE to shoot Penguin in a tight closeup staring directly into the camera. Must've happened 6 times, minimum, in this episode. And I'm still not sure anything he does makes sense, week to week. They better have one doozie of a bow to logically wrap up all of his actions with.

Yes. There are definite positives to his life. Good thing he locked that down early in life, though. Dude looks rough to only be in his early 40's.

Remember when Bettany was hot shit, like, a decade ago? I was so sure he was going to rule the world after he showed up out of nowhere and stole the show in A KNIGHT'S TALE. He followed that up with the incredible MASTER AND COMMANDER, and then he was heavily rumored for the Joker in TDK, but that didn't happen for him and then...kaput. I oft lament that we live in a world with a dozen franchises based on YA novels but only one MASTER AND COMMANDER movie. Fuck, there are two PERCY JACKSON movies.

Totally agree. He'll be great, but I'd be 1000% more interest in what Phoenix's crazy ass would do with the role. Also, Cumberbatch is a zillion times better actor than Keanu...but I think I'd rather see Keanu Strange.

I think my favorite part of Comic Con this year was James Spader and Paul Bettany showing up and making it *quite* clear that they know they're better than this and are only doing it for the cash. Granted, I'm not sure Bettany's recent filmography backs him up on that, but I appreciate the lack of false sincerity about the subject matter, nonetheless.

Refs are trying so hard to screw Penn State right now. Not that I have much sympathy for them or anything.

I've been saying a while now that Ole Miss' lack of a run game was going to come back to bite them at some point. I can't think of the last team that played for the SEC title without the ability to run the ball consistently. The defenses are just too good, and inevitably you play one of these sorts of games where the flashy stuff isn't working and you just have to man up and out physical your opponent. Ole Miss just doesn't have that, and it got em tonight.
