  1. Yeah you do need to use the special abilities a lot. As for the update, I was browsing NeoGAF and they were complaining some of the jobs don't give out as much money. Apparently people were able to grind/exploit certain jobs to make a lot of money.
  2. If you're talking about the first race against Hao, do not use the Camaro type car that spawns by him. If you use Franklin's Buffalo and his special ability in the turns, it's not too bad.
  3. We're up to 51 members in the crew, which moves us up another division - whatever that entails, maybe bigger bonuses? What does the JP mean? I'm assuming it's Job Points and the more you have, the more/better jobs you get offered.
  4. I did manage to make it level 10 last night and by robbing stores (poor guy who worked at 24/7 probably got fired after I robbed him 4 times in a row) got enough cash to get a shitty garage under a freeway overpass. Also did my first parachute race and somehow got 2nd place out of 8 people. On the single player side, I completed the second heist and am making progress on the third, which included finding the mask shop. So now my Trevor is going around Los Santos like a methed out El Santo in his suit and lucha mask. Also did some of the souveneir side missions. LOVE FIST~!
  5. Who pays for Angry Birds? I felt ripped off that the Minis version was 99 cents.
  6. As long as RC vehicles are never seen, I'm fine.
  7. Races are a really good way to build up RP and money on early levels. You can even do them on your own to get RP. I did a few bike races by myself last night to get RP and stamina. I usually play around 9-11 PM CST before I got to bed. Last night I was on until about 12:30 and I am feeling it this morning, as I have to get up at 6 AM for work. I should be able to get on a good amount this weekend and I am going to try hooking up my headset.
  8. My fiancee had to work late last night so I got the chance to put some decent time into an online session and made it to level 9. JT's tip about starting an invite only session really helped, as I was able to do jobs without dealing with smacktards. Though I did pop in an open session and had some fun going back and forth with a guy trying to deliver one of Simeon's cars. I barely squeaked into the garage on rims and a smoking engine. I actually won the Top Fun mission on a motorcycle, which really surprised me. Cristobal and me tried three times on one mission that I forget the name of, but the minimum level was 25, so it was tough, especially since I have barely flown a helicopter before. We got pretty far on the last attempt, but he died taking on a big group of mercenaries and all I had to take on a helicopter was a SMG, so I didn't last long.
  9. I've found the bullpup shotgun to be pretty useful. Some nimrod was trying to run me over while I was walking down the street (probably not a good idea to yell out, genius). I jumped behind a barrier and killed him inside of the car in 3 shots. I really do need to at least get a SMG, though. The 50 cal pistol is decent inside of a car, but I like to spray and pray.
  10. I've been doing pretty good on the offline races, besides the first one due to using a shitty car. It probably helps that my characters have a stat boost from the special edition, so even though I am still only about 35% done with single player, Franklin's driving and special ability are already maxed out so the turning is really tight. But I've also been doing good with Trevor. A lot of the races come down to positioning rather than outright speed. I still haven't been playing too much online. I REALLY hate how you lose money from your bank when you die. There should be some sort of designation between servers, because I'd rather stay away from the "just run around and cause chaos players" at this point. I did find someone cool to play with and we did a few races/missions and I got up to a whopping level 6. I was browsing the NeoGAF thread and there are people on level 75 and above, WTF...
  11. What happens if you don't finish the jobs for your properties? I'm already getting kind of tired of doing them.
  12. I thought maybe if you did enough of the gun range, you could get dual guns. That's disappointing. BTW the link from the crew in your sig doesn't work.
  13. I can upload pics to my Social Club profile from the game, but I can't find any way to put them on the crew page here http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/crew/death_valley_driver/games/gtav/snapmatic/#crew/death_valley_driver/games/gtav/snapmatic
  14. Post them to our social club gallery! How do you post to the crew page? There is a link for sharing on the Snapmatic page but it is only for Twitter and Facebook.
  15. I've still been mostly concentrating on the offline. I got an invite from one of my non-DVDVR friends to race last night, but I kept getting the "could not connect to the cloud" error. I'm fine waiting for a while to dive in more. I am a bit worried that my stats will suck, but at least I have the bonus weapons from the special edition, so that levels the playing field a bit. I played the torture bit last night. Didn't really find it all that shocking, given what the character had already done in the game. Manhunt (especially the first one) was way more creepy IMO.
  16. I changed the crew color to pink. I am partially color blind so I hope it looks ok

  18. Similar thing happened to me on that tutorial. I hate playing with random people for any thing with a goal. It was good to finally get online though.
  19. I was actually chasing the asshole "Lamar sent" for my hold-up tutorial because he not only ran off with the entire take but he stole my fucking car to boot! I literally hunted him down, drove my car off a cliff and miraculously landed ON HIM and stole my car back.
  20. Probably contains spoilers: http://www.vgchartz.com/article/251316/gta-v-easy-money-stock-market-investments-tips-amp-cheats/ I've learned not to be concerned with money in GTA games, eventually you will get enough that you don't have to worry about it.
  21. The social club takes a while (hours) to update the logo. I did change it earlier today to the one Gonzalez made so it should appear in game tonight.
  22. Latest reports have some people totally losing their online characters and having to restart from scratch. I'm not gonna even bother with the online at this point.
  23. I have pretty limited time to game nowadays, maybe an hour or so before I go to bed. I tried to get on last night around midnight and couldn't connect. I'm not gonna sit around and try and try just to log on and hope I can get into a game. It's no skin off my nose. I'm still only around 25% of the single player. I tried to burn through some story missions last night but I kept getting distracted with stuff like hunting (damn mountain lions made my hopsital bills skyrocket) and random stranger stuff. I did manage to get through Trevor's initial set of missions and now can switch between all three guys.
  24. If you go into the Online section of the pause menu, there is an option to join crew members. So from there you can see if anyone is online. It will also probably help to add any crew members to your PSN friends list as well.
  25. yeah I got the GTA update. But there was also a PS3 one that I had to get first before I could even boot GTA up. it was for some BS like turning trophy notifications off and changing names of stuff on the XMB.
