  1. I checked out a Stardom match with Diamond/Viper vs Kyoko/Kris Wolf. Kyoko looked awful(and old) and Viper was really disappointing. I was hoping for Earthquake/Bundy or even Sawai, but Viper works so light. Thought she might have had some potential as the resident big girl. Also sad to see that Stardom has seemingly as many gaijin as they do japanese wrestlers now. If I wanted to watch bad American wrestlers, there's already enough.
  2. So the F4W board is trying to tell me that Karl Anderson is on the same level of Arn Anderson...yep.
  3. Wrestling needs more staredowns: From: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2016/04/arsion-572000-ars-2000-tournament-final.html
  4. Oh yeah, Larry has a great "Silent but Deadly" grin the whole angle.
  5. I reviewed WCW Saturday Night 12/7/1991 here: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2016/04/wcw-saturday-night-1271991-review.html Overall thoughts: Kind of a mish mash of various footage likely due to the holiday the previous week. Good show though with an okay Benoit/Liger NJPW, a hot 8-man with Pillman looking like the best worker in the world like always and some decent squashes. Some shots from the show: GENTLEMAN JIM CLONTZ!
  6. I have so many wrestling videos that it is honestly easier and less messy just to download them from the internet than to actually find the dvd. Sucks because I have a lot of cool stuff but usually can't find it . I ended up covered in dust, sore and tired from trying to find one today.
  7. With Kobe retiring, I think WWE should try to book Shaq vs Kobe. Easy 1 million buys and it would get all of the coverage in the world.
  8. I reviewed WCW Saturday Night 11/30/1991 here: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2016/04/wcw-saturday-night-11301991-review.html Overall thoughts: Not as good as last weeks show but this was serviceable. York Foundation vs Steamboat/Rhodes was good and Cactus/Pillman did a 1991 version of a spotfest. Some awful gimmicks on the show though with Johnny B Badd, The Patriots and Arachniman. Some shots from the show:
  9. I reviewed one of my childhood favorites today - WCW Saturday Night 11/23/1991 http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2016/04/wcw-saturday-night-11231991-review.html Some shots from the show: Overall thoughts: Really good show overall with the formation of the Dangerous Alliance and a hot crowd. We had nice storyline development throughout and MR. HUGHES bumps big.
  10. He did it after the fall then again in the ring
  11. The first two paragraphs sounded like you were reading from my brain. I also only saw the DB retirement and stick to NXT specials, Rumble, some of the main events and Mania.
  12. Edward's brother. He leaked some of the Mania results early.
  13. I posted this elsewhere on the Reigns thing: The way WWE is set up right now, it honestly doesn't matter who the top guy is. WWE will not let anyone become larger than life or go mainstream. PPV buys don't matter. WWE is the only promotion for most people, so if they want to see wrestling, they have to go to WWE events. Numbers like TV rights and merch might be up, but that's because of inflation and higher prices, because we don't see Cena/Reigns shirts everywhere like we did with Austin 3:16. WWE isnt seeing this - they just see 94k crowds and think "dayum we are on fi-ahhhh" WWE isn't going anywhere, but they also aren't going anywhere. They aren't relying on popularity, they are relying on world wide accessibility through the WWE Network and TV deals. You would think they would use this to take some risks and give different guys a chance, but they are using it to do whatever they want instead. As long as they can keep ratings in the 3 million range and keep the network above 1 million buys, they are on cruise control.
  14. Here's the muting, and it's super obvious: https://streamable.com/t6kc
  15. Cena vs Reigns to me would be the real indicator of where Reigns stands to them. I don't think they'd let Reigns get the better of him.
  16. Don't like or hate Reigns as much as others, but creative I definitely do hate. I'm glad he won last night so we can finally get past his "Wrestlemania moment". Let him sink, swim or let him do Cena-light like he is doing. The crowds responses and stuff aren't clear to Vince that it's not working, so just let him have his run so Vince can get over it.
  17. I was thinking - should WWE's current state be called the - "Vince vs The Fans era"? We're starting to get away from the PG era a bit.
  18. I'll get negative comments for sure but I like the idea of WWE trying to start phrases/songs on the trons. Singing is fun and it worked well for Titanes.
  19. Brock wasn't great. He really did nothing aside from suplexes. Them getting 15 mins or so without any real false finishes was what hurt the match.
  20. I agree with this. I like Dean. I don't see the problem. His look is fine. His matches are good. He's the most over non-Cena face. He can talk. The only thing I'm seeing is that Vince doesn't have the mancrush on him like Reigns. Someone please give me a good explanation as to why he's not the man.
  21. I'm not really as mad as I would have been in previous years, I guess because I saw the card and knew it would be bad. The finishes were all pretty bad. Really feels like Vince went out of his way to do things his way and remind us that none of the people we like are real stars. I'm curious as to what Mania in a few years will look like. Taker's about done. Austin/Foley/Flair/HBK are retired. I guess Rock and HHH have some mania matches left in the tank. They really need to get on you know...building new stars.
  22. Ultimate Warrior says hi. Great body...gassed in 2 mins.
