  1. Cobb very clearly wants out of his deal since he has options so I wouldn't count on his word as indictive of the overall roster feelings but if they are indeed not taping all this year you can bet a lot of guys are going to want out. I suspect if you aren't Mexican you have a shot, if you are Mexican you're fucked as usual. The two most interesting cases may wind up Cobb & Angelico. As for tonight's episode... well... it was TNA. If you slap the TNA logo on the show and do the exact same thing with a guy doing a Stone Cold ripoff gimmick, two different prop spots, a lame angle where a guy has a glove with special powers AND TAKES IT OFF BEFORE THE MATCH, an in-ring promo that dragged on and on and on and focused on a fan the average viewer has no clue about, a comedy act causing a screwy finish in the opener & ending with a poorly acted campy skit... TNA would be absolutely destroyed. But it's Lucha Underground so we're supposed to give it a pass. I don't. I hated the show start to finish. But good news everyone: They found time to give Sexy Star her shine & more time to act on a show she didn't even have a match. Cool.
  2. Amen, brother. He's gonna be totally exposed next week in Japan with nobody covering up for him. Really liked the show. Volador fucking killed it as usual, Panther/Casas are just absolute all-time legends, that main event finish was such an awesome visual. Really hope on the 27th they come back with something similar when the full crew is around.
  3. Legit my only comment on tonight's lackluster, at times very dull show, is Katrina's true love is the cop who has the other half of the amulet. Oh, and also that one line where they cut to Sexy Star in the backstage segment and she had ONE WORD to say "pero" and still made it come off as the worst acting ever. Get the fuck off my TV.
  4. No unplanned hiatus has ever worked out well for a wrestling promotion. I know, certain people will reply LU isn't a wrestling promotion, it's a TV show. I'm not gonna bite and argue that nonsense. We'll see what happens but clearly not a good start to 2017 & gotta be a lot of frustrated talent right now.
  5. ONE GLOVE TO RULE THEM ALL! I saw you doing your best Melissa impression, Casey. Jack got nailed with that Havoc elbow early on and he was done for. Angelico's injury was so nasty and then he had to lay there to take the 450 right away which couldn't have felt good. I hate that Vamp is being re-introduced again. I get it, he's booking himself into things because it's pro wrestling and inevitable but it's REALLY jumping the shark with me when he does the entire deal staring at Puma or going into his trance & then 30 seconds later we're supposed to accept him as happy go lucky making jokes about World War 2 announcer Vampiro. Pick one role and stick with it. Sexy Star's acting skills... holy fuck. This has to be a rib on her.
  6. BB5 was before my Big Brother fandom so I did not know that. I remember Austin though. I like the look and have never seen him wrestle but am now less hyped based on Casey's comment. I would hope they'd hide him in trios matches if he's that bad. But if that trio includes Kobra Moon then holy fuck Steve Pain has his work cut out.
  7. DAREWOLF YOU ARE A TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING & FRIEND. GO FUCK YOURSELF. Two awesome four-ways. How is Jack still alive? He landed on NOTHING. Well, the ground. Which is nothing. HOW ARE YOU ALIVE, JACK? Angelico's bump a second later into the fencing was almost as brutal. I did like the opener better overall though. LUCHASAURUS ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! The only thing missing was Giant Silva or Giant Gonzalez in the role. Great debut for him & Pindar... unless you're Drago. In which case you're fucked. Aero Star vs Pindar better be coming to my TV soon! The Worldwide Underground skit was hilarious with the mocking of WWE style segments & Rey is alive so that's always good news. The only bad thing was Sexy Star's "acting". I hope they eventually release DVD sets and by that point she's on bad enough terms they leave on her outtakes because if the final product is that bad, I can't even begin to imagine how great the ones they can't use are. Excellent show.
  8. I really liked the episode yesterday excpet for PJ vs Sexy Star obviously. Kind of unexcusable that if Sexy/Mundo is actually happening next week we're getting 3 Sexy Star singles matches in 5 weeks while certain guys who shall not be named will likely not get 3 singles matches the entire season. Very excited for Kobra Moon's new group. Great looks, I like the story & I know who's under the hoods so we're in for some fun! Stuff like this is what I want more of on the show. I know a lot of people aren't in the campy shit but I'm sorry - I tuned in for Mortal Kombat so give me MORTAL FUCKIN KOMBAT! Was it just me or did Marty The Moth's body look awful yesterday? He's not the best physical specimen in general but yesterday it looked like he was cycling off something or had a rash... maybe it was just the video quality via how I watched but something looked really weird. The Matanza breaking out stuff was great. Damn he murdered Azteca countering the DDTijuana! HIDE REY REY! WE WANT REY REY TO LIVE! Next week shapes up good if they hold off the cage match. Angelico is back, two more 4 way qualifiers, hopefully Lord Pindar's friends show up in a match.
  9. Yeah, even in that 30 seconds you could see exactly why they've kept Black Lotus out of the ring the entire time except for some dark matches.
  10. Let me clarify then... I'm not saying that's how it *is*, I'm saying that's how it *should* be. You know how much shit I get for being sexist just because I shit all over Sexy Star constantly? These people are so quick to toss out the sexism card, they don't even stop for a second to think maybe it's just the fact that Sexy Star blows fucking chunks and that's why the majority (most of which are men) hate her guts & resent her being called a hero to a generation. A hero has the guts to get thrown into the chairs like a lawn dart and get right back up.
  11. FUCKING. AMAZING. So violent, so brutal, without using any garbage spots or blood. That's how you do it! My first exposure to those Stardom girls and they blew me away, especially Hitokiri. They dished it out just as well as they took it and boy oh boy did they fucking take it! Those dropkicks... the lawn darts into the chairs... the superkicks... the package piledriver... Wow. All of it. Wow. Told a great show long story too since when Pentagon lost it didn't really hurt him & then it tied into him getting what was coming to him with all the arm breaking. Fuck these people who cried about sexism when everyone was rightfully shitting all over Sexy Star winning. How do you watch these 3 women perform & then have any credibility left in defending the talentless & worthless Sexy Star? If you're talented, that's all that really matters, nobody notices your gender or race or whatever. If you're not, well you're gonna get shit when people see through an undeserving person being gift-wrapped something & a company trying to sell this person as a hero to a generation. One of the best episodes of LU in quite a while.
  12. Fox/Killshot was pure madness. So many death bumps. That backflip off the apron/Tiger Mask ropeflip spot was to die for! Need it gif'ed on a loop! Opener was pretty fun too and sets up some stuff going forward. I like the new group, especially their look. The constant drug references on commentary will wear on me eventually. The main event was predictably terrible. Not sure why you give her the belt just to take it off her like that. Also unsure why the announcers had to pretend it wasn't Taya when I thought that was obvious right away. Just a very flat ending but whatever. Hopefully they keep Sexy Star/Taya feuding forever and out of the way of the rest of the show. Kinda curious what would happen if I was there live and countered Johnny Puto chants with Sexy Slut chants.
  13. I think Pain/Bestia 666 end up in Kobra Moon's gimmick. The guy in black with London is definitely Lil' Cholo. Not sure on other guy but he did some Argenis type stuff.
  14. Yeah, Dave says this all the time and it never happens.
  15. Especially when you have talent complaining about poor travel conditions, not being given anything to eat backstage, having to pay their own rooms at times & here AAA is spending money (it ain't free) to register names/phrases of people who are leaving or will soon leave the company. Everything comes around eventually though. The Roldans will get what's coming to them one way or the other.
  16. It was a match in the Perros Del Mal promotion circa 2011 (or 2012?). She had a match with Lolita where the loser is the first person to get stripped naked. It was very rapey.
  17. Unlike when Sexy Star won the Gift of Gods title and I broke my twitter ranting about it, there's not much to say here. It was dumb. She's awful both inside and outside the ring. She slept her way into the business, she slept her way to the top of the business, she routinely badmouths every female she's ever worked with, she once willingly participated in a match where she got stripped naked in a very rape-like scene just to get publicity for herself... need I go on? I'm not a female so I shouldn't speak for one but I'd like to think if my little sister was a wrestling fan and wanted a woman to look up to, she could find many role models more suitable than Dulce Garcia. My favorite thing on the show was the promotion being so worried about the live reaction they hired 4 women to sit front row together and stage tearful happy reactions. Other than just throwing my arms up and typing LOL there isn't much else to say about the match itself. Way too much comedy, especially in the second half, but if the entire deal is gonna turn into a joke at the end you may as well just go with it.
  18. I speak for all Canadians when I say we remain very worried.
  19. That episode was peak Lucha Underground. Especially the main event. Opener was so absurd but in such a great way. If you're gonna go the absurd route, you gotta go all out absurd and they certainly did that. Wagner taking part in all this shows you how desperate he is to get U.S. exposure because no way he's doing any of this in Mexico. Match was clearly heavily edited to take out all the awkwardness of setting stuff up but worked perfect for a TV presentation. Daga being dead would certainly explain his disappearing although I'm not sure if you can trust a snake woman. I won't add him to the deceased list just yet. 10 person tag was INSANE! So many great spots crammed into such a short time. Ivelisse's rana counter was siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick! Imagine the alternate LU reality where Joey/Candace accept their initial offer & they are doing the biker gimmick while Ivelisse gets put into the Sexy Star role. I am so excited for the AR Fox/Killshot eventual match. You know those two are gonna destroy each other in some wacky stip match. What can you say about that main event? Tremendous match. Puma attacking right away and then doing that out of control plancha was the best! Muertes is absolutely perfect for these type of matches. Easy MOTYC for me. A 10/10 episode in my book. I am definitely going to re-watch this before and maybe even again after next week's episode just to remind myself how awesome Lucha Underground can be when they are focused on the right things that make the promotion so refreshing.
  20. December 3rd - Leafs vs Canucks rematch. Canucks openly saying at least two Leafs players "are dead men" & vow revenge after a big hit on their star player. I dunno about you guys but this reminds me of something most Vancouver fans would probably rather forget...
  21. You may have seen this already but this is the earliest Fuerza footage out there and it's an awesome match:
  22. He did say that but considering he's RT'ing comments about how he deserves more in his final appearence I'm guessing his idea wasn't a pointless trios match. I'm sure he'll get his spots in & be the winner at the end (maybe?). At the very least it'll be better than Dark Angel's deal because it won't be as self-serving & ignorant to what the fans want to see. I hope they do something nice for him whether it be a plaque or video on the screen. It'll be tough though as Friday's show has 8 matches scheduled so there will be rush jobs.
  23. Fair enough. Nothing I can argue. That makes me sad. It's frustrating though when you see a guy like Dragon Lee for example who had his first match (that we know of) on January 1, 2014 & is barely 21 years old. Certain people act like it's criminal WWE hasn't signed him yet as if they've missed the boat on the kid.
  24. I still don't get the fascination of wanting everyone to wind up in NXT. As a fan you should want them anywhere but so they can have actual good matches and not be wasted away working a completely toned down style wrestling in front of nobody for 95% of the year. If you're a personal friend of theirs then I totally get it... you want them to make decent money but I'm guessing nobody here is a personal friend of Cavernario. So what's the rush to get every < 25 year who we've only seen wrestle for 2/3 years into the shitty WWE system?
  25. Chanting "lucha legends" at Rey & Chavo was such a disgrace and hilariously enough Chavo promptly fucked up a simple lucha spot seconds later. Not to mention blowing taking the headscissors late to set up the 619. The Eddy tribute spots were such cheap heat too. Whatever. Rey worked his ass off to salvage it but the match wasn't so hot and the Chavo Sr. interference was entirely predictable and silly. Nobody bought Rey lost & him just accepting it and walking off immediatly was weird (probably heavily edited). Havoc vs Wagner was a good match but it's hard to take any of this seriously when it's a set up to Mascarita vs Famous B. The Puma/Muertes confrontation was basically a copy of the set up to their title match before Ultima Lucha I but came off well. Although giving that segment < 2 minutes when all that time was spent on Mascarita's angle is perplexing. Next week's match should be killer, those guys work so great together. Matanza killing people is always fun. Not what I would call a good show by any means.
