  1. Cuz a beta just isn't enough, there's a PS4-exclusive alpha. And, hey, a WHITE PS4 Destiny bundle releasing on September 9. Dreamcast Day, FTW, yo. And lots of reminders that PS4 games look better than the other guys.
  2. So, uh, yeah...Destiny looks pretty awesome. Kinda feels like a Borderlands, only set in space. I won't buy it until it's half-price but it looks great.
  3. I'm in a shitty mood, so lemme preface just by saying that. Anyway, I'm a day late but firing up the Sony presser so just pretend I was saying all this stuff at 6pm PDT last night...
  4. That MK game looks like a really pretty pile of crap to me.
  5. And that wraps up Ubisoft. That was a home run for Ubisoft, without a doubt. Just Dance and Shape Up won't be bought by me but their other titles all looked awesome.
  6. Yves Guillemot pulls the "one more game" thing and shows us...a "pre-alpha" gameplay match featuring the clearest in-game audio of all-time for... Rainbow Six Siege. It looks really cool but was also very obviously scripted and pre-planned and not "real" gameplay.
  7. Up next is Valiant Hearts, a highly-stylized 2D puzzle story game set in World War I and follows a first aid dog. I have no idea what the gameplay actually is but the story looks like it's going to be gut wrenching.
  8. And now Shape Up, a fitness game for the Xbone. Gameplay demo includes the producer doing a Dance Dance Revolution thing. The game actually shows an accurate, fully modeled 3D model of yourself in real-time and that looks really good. I can see where that would be a lot of fun.
  9. And now an actual gameplay demo for Unity and OMG it looks incredible. I am constantly in awe at the level of detail that Ubisoft gets into their AC games.
  10. And now an extended trailer for Assassin's Creed Unity featuring a weird cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". It looks amazing but it's all obviously scripted sequence stuff and not actual gameplay. I don't care. I want this game. Yesterday. But it's a Ubisoft AC game so I won't buy it on release day - I'll wait 60 days and pay half-price like always
  11. And I'm off to a meeting so I'll pause the playback and come back in 40 minutes to get the rest of it
  12. And now a trailer for The Crew, an MMO racing game that promises to include no loading screens and "the entirety of the United States, coast to coast". If I can drive in an accurate Spokane, WA or my old hometown of Pontiac, MI, SIGN ME UP.
  13. And a long trailer for The Division. Could be great, I dunno. LOOKS great. But no gameplay shown.
  14. True. She pretty much loses all of her considerable appeal as soon as she starts talking.
  15. And now a pre-choreographed dance routine to demonstrate Just Dance Now, the smartphone/TV combo freebie thing. I suppose this could be fun but this demo would work better if it was actually people playing instead of just pretending to play.
  16. And now Just Dance 2015 complete with a racial stereotyping joke from Aisha. Good lord.
  17. Ubisoft opens with the first 5 minutes of Far Cry 4. Does a great job of intro'ing the game, I think. Ooooh, Dan Hay & Aisha Tyler, you're so cool and edgy with your on-stage profantiy. You rebels you!
  18. Heard it was heavily discounted at Gamestop so I had my wife pick up a copy of Bandfuse for me while I was out of town. I've been following this game since it was first announced and I was intrigued but the early gameplay videos I saw were not promising. At all. I decided to wait to purchase after its release and then...bam...they were out of business. Anyway, fast forward to now and I have a $10 copy of Bandfuse and decided to give it a go last night. First impressions....the user interface is a mess. The gameplay screen, like every single music game ever, is way overcrowded and has tons of distracting stuff on it - complete with no way to shut any of it off. Coming from Rocksmith, the actual display of notes takes a lot of getting used to, since they use a scrolling tab format instead of the note highway typical of the genre. That's not a bad thing. However, they also color-code notes based on the finger you're supposed to use to fret it. Also not a bad thing - except in my head, different colors = different strings and that messes me up. That'll take getting used to. Then there's the difficulty levels. At the lowest difficulty levels, what they have you playing seems to barely resemble the song in question. It's like a simplified version of the rhythm of the song rather than anything actually recognizable. And the lower difficulty levels don't actually build to the higher ones as the note selections in each are completely different. Gimme the Rocksmith way of dynamically adjusting difficulty ANY DAY. Finally, There's no way to adjust the volume of stuff in the game, so you can't turn down the actual song to hear yourself better - even in the playback after you're finished. Terrible decision. The song selection is mediocre as it's rather small. A Foreigner track for me, so that's good. The game itself is very responsive to your playing, however, which is a big plus - no lag at all, even when I'm playing over HDMI. Overall, not impressed but will keep with the game as I'm always willing to try something that will get me to actually not suck on the guitar but it's also very easy to see why the game went bust in a hurry.
  19. Gotta admit, the way they edited up the Hardline gameplay trailer was pretty cool. And now they've just introduced a closed beta for PS4. And, oh yeah, 1080p60!
  20. And now Battlefield Hardline...looks like they're showing 360 graphics or something. Definitely not next-gen - or really crappy next-gen. Cops and robbers in an FPS. Could be fun, but looks just like every other FPS game ever made.
  21. And now the new FIFA game. Whoop dee doo. This press conference from EA has been...lifeless.
  22. Hey, a new Mirror's Edge game! Last game was an incredibly concept that ultimately didn't quite work. The preview footage seems to have a really shaky camera - yeah, no thanks.
  23. And now they're talking about Dawngate, their new MOBA title. I don't play MOBA games so can't really judge if this looks good or not. It at least SOUNDS intriguing.
  24. 35 minutes in and EA has underwhelmed, to say the least.
  25. Madden is up next. Great graphics, and they're bringing in camera angles that show the game from the defensive perspective. Some innovations in tackling too. BUT BY GOD WE ADDED LOTS MORE PLAYER CELEBRATIONS AND THAT'S WHAT REALLY MATTERS.
