  1. Though "Icing The Kicker" has a whole new dimension to it now, at least.
  2. Deliberate infliction of injury confirmed as valid Football strategy. Why would any team in the league now not just jump offside and blast the kicker in the knee on every field goal attempt?
  3. Good to know Elway was on the sideline watching that one in person, too Can't remember the last time the Raiders were in first place at all, let alone solely or for multiple weeks. I mean, I guess it would have to be 2002 but, I don't even remember it.
  4. Unfortunately, with every game the Raiders actually win (and every borderline call they actually get) the more certain I am that means they're leaving town.
  5. Vance McDonald has actually held onto a majority of the balls thrown to him. I'm sure the Saints defense is almost as unprepared for and shocked into paralysis by this development as I am.
  6. Watch for another tie this week, in other words.
  7. The Detroit Paritys are also 4-4 coming into today
  8. And in the early 2nd Quarter, the answer appears to be DHB, already carted away and officially listed Out for the rest of the game.
  9. Sunday, November 6 Pittsburgh at Baltimore Dallas at Cleveland Jacksonville at Kansas City NY Jets at Miami Detroit at Minnesota Philadelphia at NY Giants Carolina at Los Angeles New Orleans at San Francisco Indianapolis at Green Bay Tennessee at San Diego Denver at Oakland Monday, November 7 Buffalo at Seattle Tiebreaker #1: More interceptions thrown, Fitzy, Tannehill or TIE Tiebreaker #2: Chris Carr passing yards 283 Tiebreaker #3: Detroit Lions sacks vs Minnesota 2
  10. Almost half the league has either never won, not won in 40+ years, (the Super Bowl is 51 years old), or both, so it's up to you really Cardinals (1947) Lions (1957) Eagles (1960) Oilers/Titans, Chargers, Bills (all never, all existing since 1960, though they at least have AFL Championships in 61, 63, and 65 respectively) Vikings (sorta-never, existing since 1961, won the last NFL Championship pre-merger in 1969 but lost Super Bowl 4 later that season) Browns (1964, setting the continuity retcon fuckery aside) Falcons (never, existing since 1966) Jets (1968) Bengals (never, existing since 1968) Chiefs (1969) Dolphins (1973) Panthers and Jaguars (never, existing since 1995) Texans (never, existing since 2002) The Lions, Browns, Jaguars, and Texans have also all never even appeared in a super bowl. Lots of options.
  11. Same, except in my case it was the look of detached dread on John Cusack's face. Whenever FOX cut to him with his chin in his hand I thought he might end up as the last Cubs fan to die without seeing them win at some point tonight.
  12. Craig H has permission to be Pants Free for life
  13. They'd just job out to protect the New Day Yankees championship reign record anyway
  14. Clevecago Cubians [Cubans?] Chicland Indicubs [Indica?]
  15. Lester in in relief. Ross comes in to catch with him. Throwing Error and Wild Pitch allow 2 Cleveland runs. Next half inning, Ross hits a solo home run. Ross has already announced his retirement after this season. They need to pull Lester before Ross' spot comes up again so that can be the last at-bat of his career. [Still bummed Edgar Renteria decided to play in 2011 and messed up his chance at this]
  16. Joe West was SO CLOSE to getting his "eject someone from a world series game" merit badge. Had Strop all riled up with that non-call of low strikes and he pulled his mask off immediately and everything. And that inconsiderate catcher had to ruin EVERYTHING by doing his job and going out to the mound and calming the guy down. Poor Joe West just can't catch a break
  17. Both teams should play under protest.
  18. I always root for ties, barring having an actual partisan rooting interest (as I did here)
  19. SETH ROLLINS ROBERTS Ends that overtime slightly early for Rippa's and Raider Nation's sake [With an assist to the Tampa DB who made an abysmal attempt to shoulder tackle Roberts instead of wrapping him up, turning the first down into a touchdown.]
  20. All things old are new again. Bring back the Cleveland Spiders
  21. Thursday, October 27 Jacksonville at Tennessee Sunday, October 30 Washington at Cincinnati New England at Buffalo NY Jets at Cleveland Detroit at Houston Kansas City at Indianapolis Seattle at New Orleans Oakland at Tampa Bay Arizona at Carolina San Diego at Denver Green Bay at Atlanta Philadelphia at Dallas Monday, October 31 Minnesota at Chicago Tiebreaker #1: Winning margin in NE/BUf 4 Tiebreaker #2: Cam Newton rushing yards 55 Tiebreaker #3: touchdown passes in GB/Atl 6
  22. As I understand the rule you have to have been on the 25 man roster at some point in the season, prior to September call ups, to be eligible. You don't actually have to be on the 25 man at that point (not sure if you have to be on the 40-man); it's just your last chance to be on the 25 man roster to be eligible for that team's postseason if you have not been there before (i.e. you're a new call up/acquisition). So the 2 games Schwarber played at the start of the year before getting hurt would qualify him this year. Now there are certainly other provisions to the rule that I straight up do not know, and I don't know if Schwarber was on the 40-man or not, or how being on the DL affects it, etc. EDIT: Ah, Kuestar's got a link. It's pretty straightforward. Schwarber was presumably on the 40 man all along
  23. Despite the home unis, The Raiders were actually in Jacksonville. It was also a 4th and 24. PUNTERS MAKING PLAYS~! Poor Jags.
  24. Well you can enjoy ESPN Radio making wink nudge references to 1 out in the 8th in the clincher and how it "sounds familiar" if Scyllla is more you bag than Charbydis.
