  1. Let's assume for a second that's true. Is Page at fault for not realizing that ahead of time? I never would have thought Kingston would lose his mind about being called "fat," either. People are talking about Page "going into business for himself," but unless Punk explicitly told him not to talk about it ... well, I'm pretty sure AEW promos aren't line-edited before they reach air.
  2. How do you know any of this? Page said something that wasn't nearly as bad as anything Kingston or others said to Punk, and Punk held a grudge for three months. For all of Punk's "If you have a problem, talk to me," did he try to talk to Page before his "receipt" on Dynamite? Meltzer swears up and down they didn't hear any "leaks" from the Elite. Everyone ELSE on the roster seem to have looser lips.
  3. Disgraceful. Is that how a champion behaves?
  4. String theory has nothing to say about that. Quantum mechanics, maybe. ?
  5. Hate to say it, but Meltzer's convinced me it's not a work. Says there's legal shit involved now, and no one's talking. EDIT: And it sounded to me like "if Ace is punished, Punk walks" was TOTAL Dave speculation.
  6. Whatever the reality of the situation, a day later, I think we can all agree it's
  7. If you believe Meltzer and Alvarez, there indeed never was a plane ticket in MJF's name for that day.
  8. How he was booked. Period. He wanted to headline WrestleMania, and they wouldn't let him. I doubt Zack Ryder entered into the conversation.
  9. Sounds like he's saying you can't call someone an asshole if you don't know them personally. Fuck that.
  10. Here's the video. The guy does NOT ask about Colt, but Punk somehow knew he had previously done improv with Colt. Hence the following diatribe. And I thought my shitlist was long. EDIT: Really seems like he was just looking for any excuse to rant about Cabana.
  11. Wait, what? I thought for sure someone asked him about Colt.
  12. The whole scrum is way more theatrical than usual. Tony really went off at the end: "There's people that have said things ... people who work here ... slammed me blatantly in public, and there's only so much of it that I'll take." Brandon Thurston asked about numbers, and Tony said it probably won't beat last year's All Out because it's the third big wrestling show this weekend. "When the fight is brought, I'll continue bringing fights of my own, and I have unique ways to do that, and a lot of money to fight with. This is not a game to me. This is my life. This is not a joke, and I take it really seriously." "I have a lot more fucking money than Jim Crockett did, and I'm not going to sit back and take this fucking shit."
  13. If people really want AEW to trim their roster, Sabian has to be at the top of the cut list.
  14. I know people were worried about ticket sales, but for what it's worth, Excalibur on the pre-show just said it's sold out.
  15. Khan's philosophy, as gleaned from post-show scrums, seems to be that a lot of people only tune in initially for the top few matches anyway, and will go back to the others later on. I guess that happens for UFC shows, I think he said?
  16. I think the (high) number is going to surprise a lot of people. Last two Dynamites leading in both had over a million viewers.
  17. It looked to me like he was incredulous. As in, "Really? YOU guys are gonna put me through a table?"
  18. DAMN IT I SAID LEAVE ME OUT OF THIS Only live. When the DVR views are added in, Dynamite has still never beaten Raw, as far as I know. Do you know what a Gish gallop is?
  19. So which did you watch last night?
  20. So HHH is head of creative, right? And I guess something to do with "talent relations"? How does any of that give him license to make all these financial decisions? I mean sure, he's sleeping with the (co-)CEO, but might not the shareholders get a little nervous about this day-one spending spree from the new guy? You'd think Steph and Nick would be wary of that.
  21. And sorry for the double post, but I think Meltzer's off his rocker insisting they needed to show Ace and Punk going into a locked room. That's some WWE shit. Whether they accomplish it or not, AEW is meant to be the wrestling that doesn't insult your intelligence. When Ace said "this isn't what we talked about," that's enough for me to connect the dots, without being hit over the head with a visual reminder. To make a comics analogy, you don't have to show me what happens in the gutters -- that's what my brain is for.
  22. Punk said his foot is 100%, but maybe he didn't know what this "new" 100% is really like. The implication being he needs to learn how to work with this permanent change, and he understands that better going into the rematch. Imagine a 45-year-old playing basketball for the first time in 20 years. You might hurt or strain yourself that first time, but next time you better know how to work around your "new normal." I thought it was simple and effective.
  23. I thought Jose was brandishing it to keep Vance from jumping in. As in, "Sit right there, or this is what you'll get."
