This was awesome. Feels like we're getting the culmination of an origin story for Wanda that started with AoU.
Thinking about it like that makes this journey really fucking cool.
I really like that way of thinking about it!
Yeah, dug the pace of this and tying it in to sitcom tropes to set the table for the finale.
Liked the switcheroo at the start where it originally felt like Agnes was facing a witch trial, well done.
"what is grief but perseverance of love" was a really beautiful piece of writing!

@NoFistsJustFlips in total agreement on Nyla Rose, don't dig her work at all and always feels lacking control.
Favourite match tonight was Hangman - Kassidy. Where's Marc Quen? Kassidy definitely growing these past few weeks. Hangman tending to Five with John and Alex gave me feels. Love to see TH2 getting some more airtime too, think Angelico has some untapped potential, the dude is just cool as fuck. Give him a scenester gimmick now, where he just rips on everyone else's taste in music.
The blood on both Bucks on the truck was a great visual.
JR money count for the night: 15
As Archer won, JR mentioned something along the lines of him being "the biggest man in the ladder match, presumably". You don't think they'd throw Paul Wight in it would they? 4 announced so far, qualifier next week in the go home show makes 5,so who's the 6th?

Thanks @The Natural for the credits shout, I flicked through them at the end but must have missed it first time.

Hangman and Dark Order is my absolute favourite storyline in AEW. Love that he referenced his friends who told him to always have a spare stack of papers in his jacket. I squealed with delight when Silver and Reynolds came out, and grinned ear to ear when - 1 ran out calling out the rest of the Dark Order. Just real joy making stuff for me! Looking forward to Hangman laying Matt out, but have to say Isaiah looked good (and properly heelish) in attacking Page.
On the Page-Hardy match, we may get to see JR's vinegar strokes face during it since it is a "Big Money match". "MONEY! MONEY! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! OH YEAH, THAT'S IT! ALMOST THERE NOW! HOLD IT TOGETHER JR! BAH GAWD ALMIGHTY!!!!!!!!!"

I don't know if this even counts as news anymore but Teddy Hart is back in jail for possession with intent and evading police.
I somehow misread this as Teddy Long, "holla holla holla, you expected some mellow weed, but you're going one-on-one with some bath salts playa"

Matt Riddles theme at half time at the Arsenal match today. Brooooooo? Pretty much summed up my reaction at seeing Willian come on in the second half. My reverse voodoo is obviously not stronger than his stinkiness because I've slated him like this multiple times now

@Matt D you mentioned Bettany channelling someone specific to this episode. More generally than just this episode, I get little flashes of Rik Mayall on his comedy performances, but that could be accent related.

Ep6 Discussion
I agree that it was a step down but still good overall. It definitely raises more questions, or at least continues to focus on known questions:
-Who is Pietro? Seems like he’s her Pietro with another body and largely aware of what’s going on. Is he being brainwashed to be her Pietro or not?
-Who is Agnes? She still seems like just another Westview citizen, but SWORD wasn’t able to ID her before. It’s been suspected that she’s behind Wanda doing this, but here she names Wanda as the one doing it. Interestingly, she thinks she’s dead here, and she previously asked Wanda if she could really bring people back from the dead.
-What’s Hayward hiding? Does he know more about the hex than has been revealed? What is “Cataract”? My guess is that it was/is SWORD’s plan to restore Vision.
Despite this feeling like a step down, it feels a little like the calm before the storm. Definitely interested in seeing the aftermath of Wanda’s escalation.
SpoilerOn Agnes, they leaned heavily into witchy hints with both her costume and her (very Wicked Witch of the East) maniacal laughter. She was only short an, "I'll get you and your little dog"

Intriguing!
Just went back to check the list of names that popped up when D'Arcy was emailing, no names leapt out at me, but just a thought on the file "Cataract" some kind of weapon. Cataracts affect one's vision, do they not?

"kick ass??" got a big laugh from me.
Seems to be suggesting it's not X universe Pietro since Wanda saw him with the bullet holes from AOU.
Interesting to see the kids discover their powers.
Wonder who Rambeau's friend with a way in is?

Two Hangman segments
, "oh ambassador, with this Ferrero Rocher you're really spoiling us". Loved how Anna Jay gave him nothing but side eye, building on the BTE skits.
That main was wild, just good times all around. The diving stomp to Mox was gnarly as hell!
I know a lot of people have a real soft spot for Sting, but I really don't. Possibly because 8 year old me saw the short bleached blond hair on him and thought he was the lost Bros member, and I just really hated Bros as a kid, so I've always been ambivalent to the Stinger. But this storyline is so repetitive, "its Sting", "oh hey, here we are, Team Taz", "I hate creeps and I hate liars...", "OK ok, team Taz are gonna live to fight another day" lather rinse repeat. At least they laid hands on someone this week I suppose.
I did laugh at Big Shotty name checking Brandi though.

I love heels pointing to their head, to let everyone know how smart they are, especially when a face looms in the background ready to dish out some punishment. In modern terms, Ortiz pulls this one out a lot, and I crack up every time.

So, Football365 (UK based football/soccer site) have written a piece imagining all 20 current Premier League managers taking part in a Royal Rumble, including a wonderful Mikel Arteta/Scott Steiner math promo. For those with an interest in both footy/graps ye may enjoy.

Kane's entrance music rings around the Emirates stadium as Arsenal come out for the second half. Fitting as Willian comes on as a sub, a man whose testicles I'd happily electrocute!

Digging this so far, thought it definitely kicked up a gear this week. Loved seeing how actions in the real world affected the Wanda world. Its definitely more interesting in the uneasy moments, but the cheesy stuff around it makes those moments stand out more so, while they may not be "funny" they certainly play their part. I did laugh out loud at Park's card trick though.

I always quote this in my head too, followed by Reynolds’ “he’s just a kid”.
I’ve always liked Jungle Boy but the change of music as added SO MUCH to his presentation, he looks like a star now.
Think I'd seen it mentioned that his dad's people had negotiated his contract with AEW so Jack only signed for 2 years, rather than 5. If that's the case, it's a really good idea that they're making him feel like someone important around about now as he's much more inclined to re-sign, you would hope.

But it's so painfully obvious that business comes before creative in these segment while every other part of Dynamite makes you feel that creative fun is the driving force before all.
Nail on the head here! All the Cody celebrity stuff is so boring to me. Which considering how invested I was in him heading into Jericho/MJF matches is quite the turnaround.

The usual enjoyable show on Dynamite this week. Agreed on the opener and Dax/Perry matches both being very good.
For a smaller guy, jungle boy really makes his strikes look hurty. He leans all the way in on them and they're so quick. That powerbomb by Dax was one of the best I've ever seen, just wonderful strength and technique. Could have done without all the "axe" stuff on commentary though.
Interesting move having Hardy approach Hangman. When I saw the card, I hoped/assumed that maybe Page would come to Dark Order's rescue against the Biz Cliz.
Archer has such an eye for the camera, I adore his constant talk to the camera while bringing the pain, even if I can't understand a word. Was this his first week entering through the "face" tunnel?
I'm a child who loves puerile immature humour, so gallows swinging his belt between his legs cracks me up every time. It's the slowness of the swing that makes it, he takes his time with it.

The whole idea is so absurd to me, since Monday is obviously a workday (or schoolday) for so many of us. Now, I never get to see US PPV's live anyway, so it's neither here nor there! But...if I wanted to see a live PPV on tv, to me, the obvious night (evening rather) would be Friday, not even Saturday, but Friday. I've got nothing better to do!
I realize that the fact that most people DO, is the reason Friday PPV's are most definitely not a thing, but for me that would be ideal. Because obviously, if you want a proper PPV experience, it's unlikely that one would prefer to be completely sober for it, for example. And drinking on a Sunday in a Protestant country is still more than a little questionable, if you have to work the next day.
Yeah, I'm not gonna be staying up till stupid o'clock on a Sunday night local time to watch live. Probably wouldn't do that on a Saturday either but I would get up nice and early Sunday and watch the replay over breakfast. Can't do that on Monday morning
Buuuuuuut, I have taken a redundancy package at work and I'm finishing in 9 weeks and I've given them enough over the last 16 years, so I may just watch over breakfast on Monday morning while avoiding work, but let's not make a habit of this, AEW.

Late seeing this, but Finlay looks like so many old guys I've met at so many Irish weddings it's scary. He's at least 3 of my uncles. The tie came loose halfway through the first pint of Guinness, after 3 the jacket will be gone, by pint 11 the tie will be around his head as he knee slides across the floor to "Thunderstruck".

It's gonna be great when they strike the right tone of comedy and threat. Like the Russian mob heels on Delocated or Barry or something. I loved the Charles Taylor stuff last night

Still sad after the opening segment. Dark Order need to give the Hangman some "chicken soup for the soul" or something to let him know he's still worthy of love. Really glad they went with sad Dark Order rather than going for a beat down or something for saying no. Page really conveys the self doubt so well, it's not the most serious storyline but the boy has some acting skills.

For those playing along with "what's the Arsenal stadium announcer playing at half time today" the answer is RVD's entrance theme. Fittingly the Arsenal score 5 minutes later courtesy of PEA, but he missed a great opportunity not to utilise the double thumb point at self on celebration.

I was so hypnotised by Vince's hips that it took me a full 10 seconds to notice (Fuck) Hulk Hogan in the background with the sleeveless tux.
