Per Virgil, Scott has passed. I had prayed for a miracle as I know all of you did as well. Sad day. Scott's work will never be forgotten.

RIP Scott Hall.
Virgil posted it not long ago. Sad, sad day. The guy was a legend and involved in so many iconic moments. Prayers with his family.

I mean that makes a ton of sense. My only counter was going to be that AIW wasn't that heavy into intergender but then I realized they had a clip of Cedric Alexander hitting the Lumbar Check on Candice Larae that went viral. I had always though that was because it looked so fucking cool. But the more I think about it, maybe it got mixed up in the India porn ban intergender loophole deal and that juiced it's numbers. Certainly possible.
Beyond still does them now. So even if that factored into their initial reasoning, they continue to do them because it's what their performers want & what their fans want.
Also @Stefanie the Human I was not aware of the backstory of Lance possibly being disingenuous with all that. Taking that POV in good faith I would stick by how I answered it. Just take Lance specifically out of the equation.AIW never got the credit they should have for being one of the first big Indy promotions to run all female shows. Their Girls Night Out shows were solid at the time and when you look back at the talent it's even more impressive now.

Well, to be fair, he is the dirty daddy.
Anyway, I thought the rise of intergender wrestling had more to do with indy promoters cynically thinking paying two women (or god forbid, four women for a tag) was a non-drawing waste of money, while paying one woman and having her wrestle a guy was a draw for various reasons already discussed here.
maybe the promoters are jealous of how much the ladies are making at their merch table. I was set up next to Renee Michelle every time she was booked with us and every time she had a line bigger than every guy including Shane Douglas, Buff Bagwell, and Brutus Beefcake.

They definitely have been in the past as I remember watching some of the 2019 shows, I was just concerned as the GCW stuff is already available to order, and theirs isn't. If Timothy Thatcher and Ishii cave each others' ribs in and only Texans get to see it, did it truly even happen? A day's delay I can deal with, it'll be a perfect palate cleanser after enduring Wrestlemania itself, as long as it doesn't fall outside that weekend.
It's been so long I can't remember if they upload the shows same night or when they get back from Mania. I'm almost positive they upload them the same night they happen or on a 24 hr delay. Sometimes they even have 2 different feeds. It wouldn't be on Fite or IWTV though it would be on Highspots.

Just saw this, and Busick vs Suzuki, while desperately trying to find any information on whether the Wrestlecon shows will be streamable. They're not up on Fite yet, and the official website is full of minutiae about different tiers of photo opportunity, but nothing I can find about watching shows from my couch on the four day Mania weekend I've booked off work. They'll be on Fite, right?
pretty sure they have been on Highspots streaming network in the past. Usually they put the show up a day or so after it happens.

Just a personal belief, but an intermission isn't an intermission if you're still doing stuff. It needs to be a total reset. A period of time where your brain can shut off the event and take a rest. That's what reignites your excitement. I say that as someone who has seen all kinds of different intermission ideas on the indys. Concerts are still essentially part of the show. I've seen companies do "intermission matches" which is just about the dumbest thing in the world.
The good indy shows just take a break. Fans can go and hangout and get autographs and pictures and stuff. The narrative of the show stops so your brain can breathe. That's why I name dropped WrestleMania 3. They just put up a 20 minute clock on PPV with the WrestleMania logo. That's it. Not Excalibur continuing to rattle off story beats and narrative recaps. Just 20 minutes to go grab food or a smoke or play on your phone. It would refresh people's brains. If you keep doing stuff, regardless of what that stuff is, then it's really not a break. Your mind still feels immersed in the event.
I know that sounds a bit like a waste of 20 minutes of PPV time. But it worked before and it could work again. I don't remember seeing anyone talk about WrestleMania 3 being too long or them being burnt out ya know? There's probably a reason for that. But it's all really a guessing game until someone tries it.A few WWF PPVS tried this. My friend had a tape of Royal Rumble 89 and 90 as a kid and 1 of them had an intermission. Pretty sure he also had SummerSlam 89 on there which may have had the intermission too. I always used to get pissed about having to FF the tape.

When Punk did the Won’t you be my Valentine promo, the collars he had with him were studded black leather. The collars on the PPV were plain brown leather. So if we assume that they wanted to have the PPV collars on TV but they weren’t ready yet, who do you think they borrowed the BDSM ones off?

Really fun show overall.
I don't mind a 4-5 hour show but start the ppv at 7pm instead of 8pm EST. If you have the Buy in at 6pm EST and end the PPV at 11pm it's not nearly as bad.
Wonder how many tired kids will be in school today because of the late wrestling show.
Wasn't a fan of the Layla Hirsch-Statlander match. I saw quite a few botches and the chemistry just wasn't there.
The 6 man tag was fun. Do they keep Redbeard around this time? Not a huge fan of the I do my spot, you come do yours in a 6 man tag. It's easy to see what's going to happen next.
The tag title match was just there for me. So many great teams in AEW but this was just flat. Jurrasic Express as champs when you have Bucks, FTR, Red Dragon, Acclaimed, is a questionable move too.
Punk-MJF was fun but when Punk gave multiple promo's expressing how badly he would beat up MJF and then he left in worse shape than MJF it made little sense. Once he had the ring he should have punched him repeatedly. Ground and pound until the ref stops it and awards Punk the win.
Moxley vs Danielson was a good match and Regal was a great surprise. He will be a great learning tree for the whole AEW roster
Swerve Strickland. Meh. He is good but where do you put him? ROH maybe?
Tay-Jade I actually thought Tay had a shot to win this. Glad she didn't as Jade has been improving match after match. Professor vs Jade? Yes please!!
Thunder-Britt eh? Not as good as their previous stuff and way,way overbooked with run ins. Guessing Rosa wins it in Texas and defends against Brit 4/20 in Pittsburgh
STING!!!!! Not upset about no Jeff Hardy.

I was watching on headphones and it sounded great all night. The ring mic was perfect, and the crowd was loud and enthusiastic throughout (although a few times on TV, it's sounded like a dead crowd, but people who were there live insist it was noisy all night).
Did Kawada ever win a match by submission with the Stretch Plum? I did like that, having run through Kobashi, Akiyama, Tsuruta and Tenryu moves, Eddie had to turn to Kawada to get the big underdog win. Because using a Misawa move to win as an underdog makes no sense. Has to be Kawada.
Also, we got the return of Surprise Rising Keith Lee.
I knew he did this spot before but couldn't remember when!! Thank you!!

I know they've mostly only had Wardlow do squashes on tv. But he can hang with anyone they got. He's way more ready than they let on. He's less 2004 Batista teaming with Flair to learn and more 2003 Lesnar who could hang with Kurt Angle right out of the gate. The depth of the roster and the deliberate pace of their story telling is why he isn't working long competitive matches, not his lack of readiness. When they give him the green light I think a lot of people are going to be shocked just how complete of a performer he is.
I've been echoing these statements for years. I am hoping he gets the win tonight. Wishfull thinking probably but if it came down to it Wardlow could more than hold his own in a feud with MJF.

I think this is the first Sunday PPV not followed up by a holiday, correct? They normally only do the Sunday PPVs if the majority of people have off the following Monday, like for Labor Day & Memorial Day. I wonder why they went with a Sunday this time. Pure guess but there's probably something scheduling-wise making them need to do a Sunday. Like the building they wanted wasn't free Saturday? Or something necessary for Tony's duties with The Jags taking up his Saturday or something?
In reality I think the true reason they do Sunday ppvs when they do them has nothing to do with holidays. I feel like TK would do Sunday PPVs every time if they don't conflict with the NFL. While the holiday reasoning makes sense, it's funny that the Sundays they do run PPVs just happen to be the Sundays during football's off season.UFC had a huge PPV last night. AEW wasn't going to compete with that.

AEW Revolution, 6th March 2022 is on my birthday! Well it goes out on the 7th March 2022 UK time. Dr Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa and CM Punk vs. MJF are big matches. Does Thunder Rosa win here or Dr. Britt Baker retains via cheating to extend it to Double or Nothing where Baker won the AEW Women's World Championship a year earlier? It's Rosa's time. Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston look likely additions. I wish it wasn't Adam Cole in the main event vs. Adam Page as Cole does nothing for me.
Happy Birthday Natural!!!!

TNT Title Match: Sammy vs Darby vs Andrade.
Oh me. Oh my. This should be very good indeed.
Expect some AHFO shenanigans and Sting getting involved to set up the PPV match.
Face of the Revolution ladder match qualifier: (Ch) Cage vs (E) Page! On Rampage! (Sadly, not in a cage) (or on a bronze age theatrical stage). It might rage backstage!
I want Christian to win and then win the ladder match. Gran'pa power! Oldish guy revolution!
Another 5-minute Deeb challenge! I flat out love these.
Keith Lee Yeets Some Guy!!! Is it wrong that I am looking forward to this one most of all? I doubt I am alone there.
Seems churlish to ask for more...
Though, maybe, Hook eating a chip or Kingston on the mic or something? Might be space to toss something like that in.
Pretty sure Sting said Wed night that nobody can interfere in tonight's TV title match or they are fired/suspended. Should be a good match regardless.

I just don't see Britt/Rosa as the main event to a ppv. The match they had with the blood was great but it shouldn't overshadow Page/Cole or dare I say Punk/MJF or even Mox/Danielson. Wouldn't be shocked if they open the show with Britt/Rosa.

Indie wrestler G-Raver has had multiple women accuse him of domestic abuse and hard drug usage on social media. There were reports he also stole money from H2O trainees and was grooming another but when I asked elsewhere for proof of the H2O stuff I didn't receive anything to substantiate it. He was mostly a DM wrestler, I expect his career is over. Sounds like he is a monster.
I'd been on a couple shows with Brandon. He was always a different kind of cat. Didn't really go out of his way to talk to anyone else and really kept to himself. He was pretty good in ring before he became a deathmatch guy. I am sure Highspots On Demand has some of his older stuff and I know IWTV has his VOW stuff before he became a DM guy.
He also had the huge feud with Cornette over the t-shirt he made. Suffice to say I wouldn't be shocked if the allegations were true. But the thing with pro wrestling is that you could literally kill someone and a promoter would still book you.

I don't think the rumored Austin/Owens match is even worth considering until we see actual signs it in the cards. Its much more likely Owens just gets destroyed by various Texas guys including Austin.
Charlotte/Ronda will main event night 1 and Roman/Brock night 2 because its just easy and sensible at this point to have the Royal Rumble winners take each night. Unless that Austin/Owens match actually happens there is no reason to think otherwise as they have nothing bigger than the current matches at the moment.
It's going to be Terry Funk kicking the shit out of Kevin all while screaming "Fight Forever Fight Forever"
