AEW TV - 7/24 - 7/30/2024 - Under A Blood Red Skye

What a goddamn main event. -
I'm so overwhelmed with the match quality of AEW, I've resisted even trying to make a new list as of late. But I really want to, the sheer quantity of incredible matches is astounding.
-
Definitely agree on being complimented by a tag. I still don't see why they broke up he and Starks, both guys seemingly can't get their legs under them without the other while they were killing it together
-
The booking of Hobbs has been such a major letdown and misstep for AEW. I hope when he comes back from injury they strap a rocket to his back. Bring back furcoat Hobbes.
-
I know his TNA run is universally applauded, can anyone point me in the direction of some good matches/promos? TNA/Impact is a blind spot for me unfortunately.
-
I wish Wardlow wasn't hurt. Wardlow v Lashley would definitely aid in getting me to buy a PPV.
-
I've never been a Lashley guy, but with AEW now, I've really gotten behind the idea of "random dream matches" and it makes me happy just thinking about him v Darby/Big Bill/Dante Martin/Orange Cassidy etc. It's one of the beautiful things about AEW IMO, is that you can get these style clashes at the ready. I mean, it wouldn't have to be for long, just bring him in for some high profile matches, let him go on his way.

I liked the idea on the last page of taking Keith and Big Bill away from Jericho and teaming them with Lashley/MVP.

I was there live for the Perry/Luchasaurus cage match and it was indeed awesome.

The Viceland Wrestling Documentaries

that's definitely a fair assessment. While I find Russo his own level of scummy...he seems to, I don't know, own it? It's weird and hard to describe. He feels like a genuine shithead and not a stab you in the back shithead lol. I can't really point a fine point on it. I'd much rather listen to Bischoff talk about the business/tv/story aspect of wrestling than anything Russo would say, but I believe Russo more. -

As much I dislike Russo....I agree witht he take he is far more credible than Bischoff when next to him and I chalk that up solely due to Bischoffs neverending love affair with anything Hogan. -

Konnan was a guest on Bischoff's last episode of Wise Words. That's one episode I'll be skipping. -
My only concern is that if it's Swerve/Page 4 as the main event in Wembley....what the hell will both of them do to top the other encounters on such a grand stage? The Texas Death Match was about as brutal as you can get. Also, JAZWares/Ringside Collectibles is missing the boat if they don't do something for Swerve/Page as a 2-Pack special set or something.
-
Couldn;t agree more. My comment wasn't even a dig at Punk, i don't think anyone in WWE is on Drew's level right now and i think he's surpassed both Rollins and Punk at this moment
-
I'm shocked McIntyre can stand up straight the way he's carrying the Punk feud.
-
I don't like Cornette, but that is great on seeing him as a 5k donation there.
-
In recent years, i started to think that Dreamer/Raven only worked because Dreamer was such a sympathetic babyface to the ECW crowd. It's one of the reasons that I thought Sami could've pulled it off with Drew when they had that period with Sami losing every match he faced Drew in. I can't see Hangman losing a 4th match to Swerve if that is indeed the title match, unless.....no, no....i won't fantasy book yet another way for me to get Omega/Hangman v Bucks 2, lol

Comic book projects that don't warrant a thread yet

As badly as I will always want Hellboy 3 with Perlman/Del Toro......This one actually strikes me in a way the Harbour one didn't even come close to doing just for the sheer horror aesthetic of it. Plus, you can't hate the guy playing Hellboy, that would be racist lol (i really hope im not the only one who gets that reference) haha.
