  1. That was the fastest hour of television. Goddamn, that voiceover was some neo-noir shit. Also, DOCTOR JOE "HALF EGYPTIAN" DEROSA!
  2. 2012 Koscheck or pre-Dethrone Base Camp? I would pick him 9 out of 10 against Erick Silva. 2015 Kos? Yeah, he better shoot the very second the fight starts because it will get ugly fast.
  3. How have you not seen him fight in 2 1/2 years? The Brown fight was awesome.
  4. It is true. Despite being a champ, she doesn't really get treated like one, but that's understandable for a lot of reasons. For clarification, can we actually quantify what being treated like a champion actually means? Are we talking mostly tangible or intangible stuff?
  5. I don't even think it's her style or how she looks. I am not saying she has to play the game or not say anything as to not appear jealous, but she has to recognize how things are going to play out initially. She literally went from not being able to fight in a major promotion a few years ago (when Bellator pretty much ditched female MMA all together) to fighting in a co-main on a stacked UFC card when the promotion is gaining some momentum. This would be the perfect time to show why you shouldn't be ignored. I think she's kinda haphazardly being shortsighted about this situation, and that could come back to bite her if she loses this weekend. Hell, I'm pretty sure it will come back to haunt her if Joanna wins.
  6. There are "fun" mediocre fights you can watch on UniMás or whatever Spanish language TV platform. You can watch those instead. I don't give a shit if you find him entertaining or not. The simplistic nature of how you're looking at this is still astounding. It's devaluing what it takes to beat top level opponents. If you're using tired ass ten year old, recycled narratives, then go right ahead and disregard what you're watching. Just know that any attempt you make to try to truly analyze something is downright laughable.
  7. That's not exactly what he did to Maidana. If you cannot see and/or determine clear, appreciable offense, then you probably should not be watching boxing PPVs period.
  8. I think I am inclined to agree with Meltzer on this, and I typically don't agree with him on actual fights. Even though I haven't heard him speak about this specific matchup, I know what he is going to say: Koscheck is super done. I think this one is tailor made for Erick Silva. This just screams flash knockdown and being stopped by the referee. Erick Silva might be not be Jesus reincarnated, but he has the advantage of being in a full camp. Kos is coming off a slew of fights where he physically looked depreciated and looked bewildered everytime he got hit with a solid punch. Taking a fight in that state TWO WEEKS after getting viciously choked out basically tells you where his mind is. He doesn't want to sit around and wait for getting a fight from Joe Silva he knows he is mostly likely going to lose anyway. Might as well get it over with and end his career going out on his shield. Knowing all those factors, there is no way I would put any fight against a half decent opponent in his favor.
  9. Re: Sergio still being on Fight Pass I think the UFC is trying to have recognizable headliners for both the Fox prelims and Fight Pass prelims platform when it comes to regular Fox & PPV. If he was on a non-loaded FS1 Fight Night, then he would probably be as high as third from the top. It's an incentive to tune in as early as possible. The one fight/Wilson Reis vs. somebody on Fight Pass days are pretty much done with on those cards.
  10. That's a giant blanket statement. The problem with it is it's basically disconnected from the level of opponents. Yeah, just go in there in and "potshot" Marcos Maidana or Canelo Alvarez. See how that works out for you. That's fucking ridiculous.
  11. Looks like the first undercard spot for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao has been taken by Vasyl Lomachenko facing his WBO 126-lbs. title mandatory Gamalier Rodriguez. Not an awful fight, but it really is a showcase bout. That's right in line with the type of fights I expect to be on this card.
  12. The 5/30 show with Condit vs. Alves will be at Goiânia Arena, the site of Dan Henderson being sacrificed to Vitor Belfort.
  13. The Dave Becky machine cannot be stopped.
  14. Joanna got one of the biggest responses during the "Welcome to the Show" presser, and all she said was a couple of sentences. People know who she is. Plus, she beat the defacto number 1 contender in a title eliminator. This is her rightful shot at the title.

  16. I love anyone who can actively troll people. Broner does a fine job at this.
  17. Once Kell Brook beats Jo Jo Dan later this month, I would love see him versus Keith Thurman. Also, I would like to see Amir Khan still without a fight because he was dumb enough to believe he was fighting Floyd Mayweather twice.
  18. I would favor Condit considering that too, but it's always murky when you're dealing with someone coming off a long layoff. Condit has been in the game for a minute now too. A lot of people thought Condit was gonna destroy Woodley and look how that fight turned out. I think Condit tries to fight in a carefully crafted way, and it works to his detriment sometimes. He tried to wait until Woodley got tired, and Woodley got to him before that could even happen. A defined, pre-planned strategy is great but it shouldn't actually be based on one set of circumstances.
  19. Steven Marrocco ‏@MMAjunkieSteven 6m Just heard Alves vs Condit targeted for May 30, UFC Fight Night 67...
  20. Saunders is out of his fight w/ Erick Silva. Basically confirming what is in the latest Wrestling Observer, Dana White said in an interview with Kenny Rice last night (filmed maybe a couple weeks ago) that the UFC is reserving a date at MSG. He kinda alluded towards December. I don't think there are adding a date, but the big events are UFC 194 on 12/5 and a UFC on Fox on 12/19. While Meltzer was talking about Lesnar/Mir 3 and either Jones and/or Weidman headlining, I think it's a bit too soon to jump on what could possibly be on that show.
  21. Roy Jones Jr. needs an intervention
  22. The PPV is trending between 500k-600k+. Apparently, losing the Weidman fight didn't hurt that bad.
  23. I just got around to watching season two, and boy I am so sad about this. *burp* "I am full of myself!" I got through everything except that. That one made me legitimately queasy.
