Promos were/should still be about drawing $, and Road Dogg did a shit load of that. Would that spiel have worked as well if delivered by x-pac or Billy Gunn? For the era he was in, Road Dogg was absolutely first class. He played the hits, he didn’t ramble, and his delivery was always on point. Idk what more you want…

I mean, I've said it before. His delivery was top 3-5 in the company at that time. Everyone had catch phrases then. we can rightfully shit on Road Dogg without saying patently untrue things like he wasn't a good promo.

I get that, and I don’t think that approach is wrong, but Samoa Joe & Finn Balor could’ve helped your mainstream tv product on day 1. By all means, sign veterans to work with your young kids on nXt, but those guys had way more to offer than that.

Couple things; 1. Omos could do in AEW exactly what he could've been in WWE. MVP's heavy and obstacle for whoever wants a piece of Lashley & Benjamin. He's a guy you find a role for, 2. I think the biggest issue with the PC/nxt is how homogenized the in-ring product has become. Everyone does the same shit. That works for people like Alexa and Bianca, who have no prior experience, but in a lot of cases you're filtering all the unique experience some talents have. I think more talents with indy experience should be skipping nxt altogether, and that's been the case more lately. For example; Jordynne Grace has less than no business in nxt, but it wouldn't shock me if she spent some time down there to get those dream matches with Vaquer and Giulia. At least they had the good sense to stick Penta right on the main roster. The "everyone HAS to go to nxt" thing has gotten better, though. How many healthy years did Finn Balor and Samoseph Joseph waste in Florida playing "Ring of Hunter?"
