Plus, the 'ALL IN' number is going to grow a lot this week while the three WWE shows seem pretty much tapped out. Think about this, AEW is going to outdraw Goldberg's retirement match, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Rhea vs. Iyo and the rest of that card and whatever they are doing in NXT. Combined.

People are going to accuse me of things but so be it. Mercedes was not advertised for 'Big Business'. Yes, it was pretty obvious she would show up with the hints but they never outright said it. The whole show was built around her and 10,000 fans showed up to that arena. Here's my point: this event has Rhea, Becky, Charlotte, Bayley, Alexa, Iyo, Jade, Naomi Trish, pretty much all of the stars of the division and it's sitting at 4,800 sold and no buzz. I don't think it's because they aren't stars, I think it's because WWE sandbagged them and it's really unfortunate. Women's wrestling can be huge when given a proper chance.

I don't think Jey is a bad wrestler at all. He's not on the level of most of the guys he works against but he's a solid C+ in there. He's going to give you a lot of effort and he's great during the build up -

TBH I thought the crowds at these GAB shows sounded louder than most outdoor WrestleManias -

Now having finished GAB '86 - Charlotte I can speak about it a little more in depth. Another great crowd, don't know the attendance but it looked packed out and they were LOUD throughout. I won't go through every single match but it's an awesome show pretty much top to bottom. Would you say this is peak Crockett here? I don't get tired of the blading in every match because these are matches they have a ton of build to them. They should be violent. I don't know if it's the best match on the card but my favorite match is that Ron Garvin vs. Tully Blanchard 'Taped Fists Match' which was incredibly fun and brutal. J.J. had some hilarious moments being the cornerman here for Tully. Garvin continues his hot streak in my household. This was awesome and the crowd was insane. Crowd was unglued for Valiant as well, I spoke on this earlier. Continuing with fans going nuclear on heels, Bubba is outside the ring laying it in to Dusty and catches a FULL drink to the face. Police just stood around like "Hey, come on guys, back to your seats." Lol. I cracked a smile when Flair put on Morton's protective mask. Flair and Morton's chemistry is out of this world. Great show. -
They knew and didn't care. It's not so much that there's a big crossover audience but I imagine hotels being booked and other things like traffic are issues that are also going to hamper the WWE show.

Can someone explain to me why the Boogie Woogie Man was getting Austin pops in '86? This isn't a criticism I just haven't seen enough I guess to understand it -
Wrong folder but right topic? I just saw on socials that Carmelo and Kelani got engaged. They are a cute couple

I've been raving about Starrcade '87 for years but the Detroit match is just as good IMO. Watch the GAB shows they just put up with Garvin and Tully. Amazing stuff. -

Even as a kid I didn't like Todd. I hated his voiceovers on the feud history video packages as well. I had stopped watching wrestling from Royal Rumble '95 through Royal Rumble '97, I'm talking no wrestling. I had gotten into playing sports and girls and all that. What brought me back was the nWo commercials. Finally, I had to check out what the actual deal was. So naturally, I had to go see what was going on with WWF as well and I was hooked again pretty quickly. Good timing. So, I've had to piece those two years of wrestling together. I've seen most of it now (especially WCW) but there's still some RAWs and a couple In Your House PPVs I've never seen... -
They released the ticket sales today. By they, I mean WrestleTix. They've sold under 5,000 tickets so far and that's with them being packaged alongside 'Saturday Night's Main Event.' Might have to do some heavy papering and yeah they pretty much sabotaged the women here to try to get one over on Tony. It's bullshit.

Did you (or anyone here for that matter) watch the match they just put up from 'Action Zone' of 1-2-3 Kid/Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels/Diesel? It's fantastic.... -

You're right, Bret vs. Yankem is a lot better than I had remembered it and the post match angle is well done. There's not too many clunkers on the show. -
Not to stir up any drama but it looks to me now that about 1/4 of the stadium for 'ALL IN' is reserved for staging in the setup map. The sections that are on sale are about 80% full and they are now up to 20,500 sold meaning they moved about 1500 tickets in the last 5 days or so. The final week typically sees a big surge in sales as well. I'm not too worried about what it's going to look like on TV, I think it's going to look great by bell time.

I've been rewatching some old school 'SummerSlam' events in my downtime and earlier I watched some of 1995. I think I had only seen it once before. Not a good show but it has some highlights. 1-2-3 Kid vs. Hakushi was a fun opener. The show is likely most remembered for the Michaels vs. Razor ladder rematch. I can't believe the bump HBK takes early in the contest. A suplex all the way to the outside from inside the ring and hits foot clips the guardrail. Hellacious bump. -

Nikita was handling it well. One fan attacked him during the match, police stormed the ring and Nikita kept on going lol -

Dog Collar Match is short but fun and bloody as you'd expect. Tag titles had potential but I didn't love the finish. Magnum TA and Kamala was fun for two reasons. One, Kamala coming out on a golf cart was a hilarious visual to me. Two, Magnum is so fucking over.... -
Lashley and Shelton both had interviews recently where they were discussing how great it is that AEW exists and Shelton especially was thankful to be having this run after being shelved for years. I don't want to say Alvarez is full of shit but he might be.

Finished GAB '85 this morning. Flair/Nikita was a slow burn but got pretty good by the end. My God what a different world it was. Multiple fans trying to attack Nikita during and after the match Lol. A nice beatdown in the post. Tully/Dusty was a bloody brawl. Pretty good. I mentioned this before but the wide shots looked great. I don't know if we have an official attendance number on the event but it looked like a good size crowd. -
The WCW Channel on YouTube has also put up the GAB '86 Greensboro stop in full. These two channels are feeding me like crazy

I don't think it's flawed. Even CM Punk himself said "Tony Khan is a really nice guy" although for him that was an issue because he couldn't get along with anyone.
-
I think I gave you too much credit. This is one of the dumbest things I've read in a while. You're comparing the first stadium show in London, England since 1992 to an even in the middle of Texas that gets wrestling all the time. It's likely at 20,000 sold and you should know by now that ticket sales for PPVs pick up during the final week ahead of the show. Also, you said less than half empty, depending on staging, the capacity is likely around 35,000. Over $2.5M in ticket sales with a week to go is already a win. It's the biggest non-WWE wrestling event in United States history. That covers nearly a hundred years of wrestling. So I guess your biggest criticism is that they aren't WWE, a company that was founded like 70 years ago? Sounds to me like you have an ax to grind. As for Dr. Britt, this whole "why won't Khan let this person leave" thing is ridiculous. He's already let people out of their contracts before. We have no idea what's going on but we do know that 90% of people who have ever worked there love Tony Khan and have said he's the best boss they've ever had. But you want to focus on the 10% or less. That's a problem you have and I hope you get help for it.
-
That's what I've read. She's supposedly doing backstage work and a producer-like role. Don't quote me because I don't remember where I read that.
-
Three paragraphs and each one is more ridiculous than the next. The stadium isn't going to be "less than half full" by the time July 12th rolls around. We've been through this. Plus, it's already surpassed $2.5M in tickets. Dr. Britt Baker, you just said you don't know what's going on and then follow it up with a bunch of shit acting like you know what's going on. Also, cut what losses? Tony Khan is a fucking billionaire. Like he cares. As for Triple H, they are running SD!, RAW, NXT, AAA, Evolve and some other shit that I'm forgetting. He isn't booking them all but what we do know is most of them have been coasting for about a year now at least and nobody cares because Silver Lake is just selling out every tiny bit of soul the company had left in it.

Maybe I shouldn't be trying to pick apart opinions from 40 years ago but I don't see how someone could be a "smart" fan and not recognize the talent of Ron Garvin. Those matches with Flair are brutal in a good way. They were wars. But it's not just that. Garvin had so many great matches around that time as noted with Tully and Bubba on down the line.
