I agree that getting the body triangle and locking up the back was great. Knockdown worthy? Not so sure about that. Benson while in the lock, got up with Thomson on him and was able to calmly shake him off, and even fix his hair. I have to think efficient striking more valuable. If Thomson would have even gave him a couple good strikes while basically controlling Benson I'd totally be a different story.

I liked the fight. Some really fun grappling exchanges, and Benson's leaping uppercuts to the body were glorious.

If you watch the fight, Fedor dosen't even connect when Werdum goes down. and gif. c'mon let's not do this Cyborg/Ronda argument again. Sure Werdum only had 1 fight, but it was a win over a guy who hadn't been beat well EVER. -

If you ask me this is the least controversial. I thought Henderson in retrospect won very clearly.

I gotta tell you. I also had it Henderson 4-1. Josh had takedowns and got back control, but was doing no damage or efficient striking. I'm betting the striking numbers are HUGELY in the favorite of Benson. Having a leg triangle and being on a guys back is great, If you actually do something with it. edit. I really could never see myself voting Ronda fighter of the year, enless she beats McMann, another girl & Cyborg all in a year. There just isn't enough talent. There are tough girls sure, but just skill she's 1993 Royce Gracie out there. -

The reason I couldn't vote for Weidman is, the first knockout was a clean KO he caught him & the second was a nice defensive move that ended the fight. I just don't give it enough credit. Fabricio Werdum didn't win FighterOTY after tapping Fedor. The circumstances were just 2 weird, and I just don't think what he did matches up to a guy like DJ. -
Melo might be the only 60+ game with 0 turnovers. Fuck yes. That was awesome to watch.

Looks like everybody is going with Henderson by DEC in the picks thread. Thompson has the ability, his fights with Gil were super close.
