  1. So after years of rebranding the company as Impact, they are now rebooting it as TNA?
  2. I think squashes are also fine if they effectively do what they need to do for a guy. I also think a lost art is those mid-level type squashes, where it's basically a jobber, but like a few more minutes and the jobber gets some offense in. This is like how they would let top heels get some clean wins on TV while giving them lesser names.
  3. For another example, Hideaki Anno literally took nine years to finish Evangelion Rebuild 4 after Rebuild 3 was released.
  4. It's embarrassing the AMPTP has suspended negotiations now. The holidays are coming up. Put your nose to the grindstone and this crap done. They should be locked into the room until a deal is made. You're also ruining Cody's chances for another WrestleMania title shot.
  5. Are they actually going somewhere with this Shane Taylor/Keith Lee business? Maybe actually book Shane Taylor in a match on cable.
  6. The comparisons only deflect from Tony Khan’s embarrassing anyway.
  7. Who cares if CM Punk gets into fights backstage? It happens in NFL locker rooms. It happens in NHL locker rooms. It happens in the MLB. It matters because the whole CM Punk saga was detrimental to the company and caused irreparable damage. I care because it's embarrassing and it makes Tony Khan and AEW look bad.
  8. Exactly, and that was dumbass stupid crap and embarrassing. And now Tony Khan is stooping to that level, and it's horrendous. The point is, he's been on Twitter since 2013, and he's never pulled it on there. And unfortunately, in this current era, much of what people do is judged by social media.
  9. Vince McMahon is a scumbag but he’s at least smart enough not to respond to trolls and act so idiotic on social media. Triple H and Shawn Michaels don’t do it either. Tony Khan not only embarrassed himself, he embarrassed AEW, the roster, and the AEW fans. He makes it hard to root for when he pulls this crap.
  10. Time to confiscate Tony's cellphone. You can't run and promote a wrestling company and be this thin-skinned.
  11. Is Tony Khan doing OK? I feel like the whole Tuesday Night War thing made him snap. He's getting worked up over Cage Match.net ratings. Seriously, Cage Match.net is a nice resource and everything, but who gives a flying phalange about Cage Match ratings?
  12. "I'm bleeding, making me the victor." https://youtu.be/BrGBJ_nk0oY
  13. Co-signed on this. I've also been enjoying Shane Douglas' chats. He seems dialed in on all his topics and he never sounds like he's being negative for the sake of negativity. Nash's podcast comparatively is a trainwreck and I can barely listen to like two minutes of it.
  14. Granted, WWE NXT new episodes were premiering on Wednesday nights...but...those are one-hour shows airing on tape delay on a premium subscription service versus live primetime cable. Wasn't exactly destination programming, so let's not act like NXT OWNED that timeslot either. Even with that to say AEW going on Wednesday nights live every week at 8:00 pm and saying that was done to hurt or challenge NXT, just seems like CM Punk getting worked up over nonsense that no one else gave a crap about except him.
  15. I guess because NXT had its taped episodes streaming at 8:00 pm on Wednesday nights originally? But I mean that was WWE Network only. All we heard about back then was how much money NXT was losing before the USA move. They hardly *owned* Wednesdays.
  16. No offense meant to Nick Hausman, but an issue I have with his report: https://www.hausofwrestling.com/2023/10/10/triple-h-shawn-michaels-look-to-send-tony-khan-a-message-exclusive/ This is very confusing. Can someone help me out there? I even looked this up. AEW announced their programming slot as Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm on TNT first. After all that was set, WWE announced that NXT was making the move to cable and would air on Wednesday nights in the same timeslot as AEW. So I don't get this thinking or reporting at all. Technically, AEW picked their timeslot first, and WWE clearly put NXT there to mess with them. Also, Impact ended up moving to Thursdays anyway. I realize its Impact and all, but AEW probably didn't want to air on the same night either. So what's this moving to Thursday's nonsense? AEW had the slot first and then it was NXT. Or am I misremembering all of this? Just seems to be a weird thing to mention in the report. EDIT: Also before this, NXT was WWE Network only and taped multiple episodes.
  17. Oy gevalt. I'm gonna need a lot more Celsius today.
  18. Raw was a pretty good show tonight, but a few things. Shinsuke Nakamura is right back to where he was post-AJ Styles feud in 2018. Except now he's five years older and 43. Both those feuds climaxed in Last Man Standing matches for the world title. I mean a Last Man Standing match isn't that suspenseful for Rollins because if both guys get counted out, he still retains. If they were gonna do a title change after months of Nakamura softening up Rollins back and finally pull the trigger on Rollins, dark evil dastardly evil Nakamura who cuts promos and they translate his Japanese into subtitles, that worked. But that failed, and now Nakamura is back to where he was five years ago, and now he's feuding with Ricochet. This is the ceiling for Nakamura. He can never get elevated. He can never be that main eventer. That said, I do kind of like how they started things with McIntyre and Rollins. McIntyre's not a heel but I liked that he didn't really help Rollins with Priest, but he did prevent the MITB cash-in. I thought that was cool. I don't think Reed is going to beat Gunther, but they've at least done a fairly decent build for him for this IC title bout over the last month. I kind of feel Reed's just been on and off since he came back, but he finally has some consistent momentum again. And he's on a winning streak, none of this 50/50 garbage. Not sure why they are doing a singles vignette for Ludwig Kaiser when he and Vinci look to be feuding with DIY. I mean yeah I see that potential in Kaiser, but putting that vignette out there seems premature. I would've held onto that until Imperium breaks up and goes their separate ways. I think having Cody and Jey win the tag titles was pointless. Does really nothing for either guy. Not really sure what the whole plan is for Jey now. If you want to make him a singles guy now, make him a singles guy. I still think that breakup with Jimmy was badly done and executed.
  19. I was there live when Otomo announced the project, so I'm curious as well. We got the announcement in 2019 and then pretty much nothing after that. Sometimes project like this move at a glacial pace. Otomo probably has to finish Orbital Era first. Plus the whole pandemic probably delayed things.
  20. https://youtu.be/hUuDDSqmRco The ultimate chuuni lunatic has returned. Peak anime fiction has returned. The moment Cid meets a cool vampire hunter he marks out and then starts copying all her shit. He's a fucking idiotic dork, and I love it. IMHO the best isekai shows are always when the protagonists have memorable or ultra-quirky personalities or they just go totally bat-shit with the isekai concept. That's why I love Eminence in Shadow.
  21. Tony’s shitpost reminds me of Vince McMahon calling TNA “tawdry” and Dixie Carter said something akin to, “Coming from the king of tawdry that’s saying a lot!”
  22. I do the same strategy, but with things like Marvel Legends figures now. It's actually been working out well lately.
  23. @NoFistsJustFlips I don't always agree with your posts either, but I always enjoy reading your perspective!
