  1. Yes. While all the X-Men didn't meet him in "Cold Comfort," Forge was there standing with them when he helped free them from the Phalanx in Season 5. Storm was in that episode and standing right next to Forge. I mean the important thing here is that Beast knows who he is. Beast was one of the people who sought Forge for assistance during the Phalanx incursion. OK re-watching the episode, you are correct, Beast does call it a variant, so I guess that's why. I assume Sinister got the same virus from Apocalypse and experimented with it. Though it still seems rather convenient they got these highly advanced healing antibodies from Wolverine to cure the techno plague in Season 2 and now it's fairly useless. Wolverine's blood also cured Leech when he was sick. But all seems rather convenient that Bishop doesn't mention Forge by name. And Cyclops and Beast are like, "You know Forge? The leader of X-Factor?" EDIT: So in the epilogue Storm doesn't seem to recognize Forge at all, even though he saved all their lives during Phalanx incident. Minor oversight. Storm and Forge were there but they never interacted. Still, she should've had some recollection of him. The continuity of this show has never been perfect.
  2. My biggest problems with Episode 3: I enjoyed all the Goblin Queen material and the nightmare fuel/psychological horror visuals. We got a little bit more development of Morph as well, which I liked. Not sure when exactly the Jean/Madelyne switch happened. I can only assume it happened after Sinister and his cronies kidnapped Jean at the wedding in Season 4. Sort of sucks for Cyclops right now. But at least the way this version is done, he looks like less of an asshole scumbag.
  3. Some more detailed examples from Ronda Rousey on her grievances with her run in WWE. https://www.cagesideseats.com/2024/3/25/24108542/ronda-rousey-interview-lifelong-concussion-history-where-wwe-run-went-wrong-vince-mcmahon-prichard
  4. More of Ronda Rousey airing her grievances, including regarding Vince. https://www.cagesideseats.com/2024/3/25/24108542/ronda-rousey-interview-lifelong-concussion-history-where-wwe-run-went-wrong-vince-mcmahon-prichard
  5. Nope. This is getting buried with all her general comments: Screw Bruce Brichard.
  6. I think you are projecting. And if Tony Khan really believes that, why has Perry remained persona non grata in AEW?
  7. If Tony Khan blames Jack Perry for costing him CM Punk, then just fire him. Jack Perry isn't a draw, and he's not important to AEW's bottom line. If he was, we'd have seen him on TV in the last six months.
  8. They don't really need to split the titles, just like we don't need split world champions. WWE booking has made it clear we know who the real world champion is, and it's not Seth Rollins. Even when they revived the World Heavyweight Title, they at the same time branded Roman Reigns' belt with UNDISPTUED on it. It's the same with the women's division. Rhea Ripley is treated like the true star and face of the division. Iyo Sky is not treated with the same prestige. WWE worked just fine with part-timer Roman Reigns as the undisputed champion for over a year. It proved we didn't need two world champions. And if they wanted split tag titles, they never should've unified the belts in the first place.
  9. The guy doing Cyclops now is the best new actor.
  10. Josh Fine was also an executive producer and writer on Wolverine and the X-men as well. So he has experience working on an X-Men series. The first three episodes were very good. The show's a lot more mature and a bit edgier than the original series. The action and fighting is more detailed, fast-paced, and elaborate. The animation takes a bit of getting used to but at least it's fairly consistent. The movement is relatively smooth and it lacks that kind of weird jankiness that makes it hard for me to get into What If. Quite a few deep cuts with the comics, and they are clearly setting up big multi-episode, multi-season arcs. I like how they recreated the original intro and outro. The new intro is very much like the original series but they sneak in some new character intro moments and new character beats and Easter eggs. The new outro is an updated version of this: https://youtu.be/Xi8gp6SiSBg
  11. If the show continues into Season 3, they should consider Larry Houston or the Lewalds to take over. Either that or give Josh Fine a call. Fine was the co-creator and co-showrunner of Avengers: EMH.
  12. So weird as I'm supposed to be going to the world premiere tomorrow.
  13. I thought the last stretch of the Gauntlet Match was incredible, but once Gable started going crazy and screaming "I NEED THIS" it became obvious he was going to lose. I'm a little disappointed because Zayn vs. Gunther, while I'm sure it will be a fine match, does nothing for me at Mania. WWE did a great job of making me care about Gable and wanting him to be the one to finally take down Gunther, which really could've made Gable's career and cemented his legacy. Sami has already cooled down significantly from his Bloodline feud and challenging Roman. Doing a big schmoz ladder match at Mania for the tag titles makes no sense to me. Judgment Day has been feuding with R-Truth for months now. They've basically turned it into just a big spotfest so everyone gets on the card. Good promo by Cody. But if Cody somehow doesn't win at Mania, all of this is going to be for nothing. Cody can cut a good promo when he's not talking stupid nonsense.
  14. Nick Khan's comments basically cheerleading Vince McMahon coming back to the company early last year look even more embarrassing now.
  15. I think Gunther vs. Sami Zayn is a fine match and all, but it really does nothing for me. That match really could've made and cemented Chad Gable. I think Sami and Gunther will have a good match though. Considering they just forgot about Gable for a while after his loss to Gunther, they actually did a pretty brilliant job building him back up again for the Gauntlet only to have him lose. Like if Sami Zayn wins and ends Gunther's streak, who does that really elevate? Even Sami Zayn has cooled significantly from his days when he turned on The Bloodline. I'm not really enthusiastic about him ending Gunther's streak. Making a six-team tag team title ladder match for this show is stupid. They've been building this R-Truth feud with Judgment Day for months, and it feels like they are throwing it away just so they can shove as many teams on the card as possible. The right outcome here is a win for Awesome Truth, and it should've just been Judgment Day vs. Awesome Truth.
  16. Miro beat him at Worlds End, and CJ turned on Andrade, helping Miro win. Tony announced Andrade was leaving right after that. And then there was this:
  17. https://www.crunchyroll.com/news/latest/2023/9/12/new-fist-of-the-north-star-hokuto-no-ken-anime I am shock! https://youtu.be/tqdvTcLdx7M
  18. Those are very much AEW problems.
  19. Toriyama is probably one of the best and most influential creators of the last 50 years. Returned to Dragon Ball long after it was finished and I think told even better stories for the franchise. And he was still working constantly until the end when he could've easily coasted and rested on his past success.
  20. It didn't feel right because they were struggling to figure out what his niche was post-WWE when he couldn't do Rusev Day anymore and there were no fans in the arena. Then they pivoted to the Redeemer and that worked much better for a while. At first, they tried to make him the Best Man and be a cool big guy who likes anime and video games and stuff.
  21. Same for CM Punk, and look how that turned out. Did the short-term gains with CM Punk outweigh the long-term damage? I think you can make an argument they did. I mean I think with the proper promotion and support Miro could've been a phenomenal asset for AEW, and he does when he was operating on full cylinders as the Redeemer. But he had no idea what to do with Miro after he lost the TNT title. I think a lot of guys have that potential. But they also need that sustained creative push.
  22. IMHO Rampage was a solid B-show last night. B-shows can be good too, and we need B-shows. I hope they continue going somewhere with Saraya and Ruby Soho's feud. Saraya's segment was one of her more effective heel promos, and I got a kick out of setting her feral brother on hapless bystanders. I also had a drink going up my nostrils moment when Ruby said, "You and your inbred family are going to get what's coming to you!" Ideally, this should lead to some sort of mixed tag match with Saraya and Zak Knight vs. Ruby and Ang on PPV or some such.
  23. We will see how Mercedes does in AEW. The key is not the debut. The key is the follow-up. Tony Khan got way too comfortable signing as many former WWE guys as he could so he could say, "Look who we have now!" Only to promptly forget about them or stop booking them for weeks if not months, or guys will fuck off to ROH after a notable win or loss. Not bringing in any of the guys cut by WWE last year was smart, even though the rumor was that people were pushing for AEW to sign Nic Nemeth. Nic Nemeth brings nothing of actual value to AEW right now that they don't have with a dozen other people. Not to mention he's 43. Meanwhile, Nemeth is someone New Japan and TNA can actually use at the moment. Same with Mustafa Ali. AEW's roster is bloated enough as it is and could stand to lose more guys.
