  1. I dropped the channel that carries RAW from my cable package this month, so I'm hoping this main and postmatch shows up on-line soon.
  2. I'm guessing he's going for a side roll up. I recall Konnan having something similar to the Gannosuke Clutch or Kofi's S.O.S. without the big sweep setting up the cradle. And also executed in slow motion. NWO-era Konnan may have been the slowest wrestler this side of Darkness Crabtree.
  3. But how can you be sure the letter is authentic?
  4. If Cena is Superman, Cesaro could be Zod. Or the Eradicator.
  5. You mean when he bungled up the heel turn before it happened? That's overblown in my book. It was completely in line with Heenan's hatred of Hogan. I'm with Jonny, the "he spoiled the heel turn" talk is nonsense. Isn't it generally accepted that WCW didn't tell their announcers WTF was going on most of the time? So this was just an in-character comment with no foreknowledge.
  6. No Matt, don't eat Hamburger Nicki Minaj! She's perfectly safe as a hamburger. Now if she'd dressed as grapes, on the other hand... People like grapes.
  7. You know Miz and Kane are both back already, right? Kane's even turned heel again.
  8. It's a simple reason: It looks stupid. Kane used it when he came back with his metal mask set-up, and it damn near killed the psychotic monster vibe he was going for.

  10. About Mark Henry - he's someone I prefer to watch wrestling guys I don't care for (Orton, for instance) because I get to see them get wrecked. Put him in with someone I'm more of a fan of, and my enjoyment will be less than you might expect. The exception would be any time Henry and another big guy are set up in a Clash of the Titans style slugfest where they appear to be on even footing. I'm a mark at heart, so unless both guys are compelling, I enjoy matches more when my guy isn't the subject of extended heat segments/beatdowns. Unless your name is Ziggler or Rollins, there's a limit to how entertaining constantly selling and stooging can be.
  11. Nah, I think he's the guy complaining about the lack of almond milk, who then proceeds to tell you all about his paleo diet adventures, and how soy is full of phytoestrogens that are the reason you're a skinnyfat barista, and not a prime physical specimen, like himself. Pretty sure he's that guy. Don't hate on almond milk, man. That shit's good. Sunflower milk too. Also, I read that as "Skinnyfat Batista."
  12. Yeah, I cannot see any good coming from Goldberg beating Ryback. Just pay him whatever to make Ryback look good. How long is Brock's contract for? It seems like he is not the big draw they hoped him to be. He's had good matches, but they don't seem to translate well to a larger audience. I am curious about this though: SummerSlam 2013: 296,000 SummerSlam 2012: 358,000 SummerSlam 2011: 296,000 SummerSlam 2010: 350,000 SummerSlam 2009: 369,000 SummerSlam 2008: 477,000 SummerSlam 2007: 537,000 SummerSlam 2006: 529,000 I still think it is partially because of poor booking. Bryan went from comedy tag team champ to #1 contender really quickly. Now it is all about Show/HHH/Orton. So it did nearly an identical number to 2011, after 2012 halted the downward slide. Maybe it's just a case that they hadn't killed off Brock's drawing power yet, and he pushed the show up last year, but has fallen off this year? Cause you take 2012 out of there, and 2013 manages to hold steady with 2011, after years of steady drops. *shrug* You know who the special guest referee in the SummerSlam 2011 main was, when it dropped 54,000 buys from 2010? Triple H. You know who main evented Extreme Rules against Brock Lesnar, and drew 32,000 fewer buys than the year before? Triple H. Who was the penultimate match against Brock at WM 29, which drew 200,000 fewer buys than last year? Triple H. Am I saying Hunter's responsible for these drops? No. I'm just pointing out that you can build any number of cases for different people's presence/absence/position on the card affecting buyrates.
  13. Yes. IIRC he hurt someone (Tyson Kidd maybe?) with it. That's weird. It's a pretty safe move all things considered so long as you don't end up Awesome bombing a guy or something. Tell that to Doug Williams.
  14. I have no idea who Sonny Siaki is. So I googled him and watched this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMw5EaN_20Y He's not very good. But what interested me was the lack of signs in the crowd. It's like one dude with a SLAP NUTS sign. That's when you know it's over. Also, I was wondering whatever happened to Elix Skipper. I couldn't believe he's 45! And, sadly, a few years ago his 22 year old son was murdered. This post wasn't meant to be so sad. I liked Siaki in TNA, as a poor man's Rock. He was part of the Flying Elvises! Plus, his career ended because he donated a kidney to his brother.
  15. Given his post-wrestling tendency to beat up senior citizens, sucky attitude may have been putting it mildly. I believe he's a hairdresser now. You're thinking of O'Haire. Which really goes to underscore Jae's point that the initial Jindrak-Billy Gunn comparison sucks, since none of you can tell him apart from the others. I was talking about O'Haire. If he hadn't been a crazy dick (even by wrestling standards) he'd probably be main eventing.
  16. I'm sorry, but starting a song "I AM PERFECTION!" automatically beats starting one "I'M AN ASS MAN!"

  18. Sitting out was all the rage in the early to mid aughts. And they treated "sitting out" like it somehow made all moves more dangerous. My brother and I used to joke that the most dangerous indy move in the world would be a sit-out superkick... ON THE FLOOR!
