  1. Are you the one who actually used the phrase "Randy Boreton?" You can find Orton boring all you want, but if you say SuperCena or Randy Boreton or CM Drunk etc... Yeah, i'm going to think you are an idiot. Can I say Blandy Boreton? What about Daniel Buryan? Had this discussion with a friend. But two pun insults is too much. Either Randy Boreton or Blandy Orton is best. I would go with Blandy myself. No points for alliteration?

  3. Show crying is like the Davey Richards superplex spot. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean that you should. Really, I'm not a fan of the way Show has been involved in this at all. It just makes no sense to me that he would care this much about, well, any other wrestler really, but especially Bryan who he has had issues with in the not too distant past. Why couldn't he have just gone out and had a good, clean, sportsmanlike wrestling match? The whole thing about him being broke, and being scared of dying because he's a giant was pretty silly too. Got flashbacks to the Shawn/JBL feud when Shawn was apparently penniless. Some people seem to not realise that there are other options apart from 'Bryan smites his enemies' and 'Bryan gets beat down to end every single show', and maybe some of those should be explored. I don't think it's a 'we want instant gratification' thing, so much as a 'let's have some progression in the story' thing. For me, I'm not terribly concerned with how Bryan is being booked right now, and am certainly excited at the prospect of Bryan heading an anti-establishment alliance to fight back, but I can see where people are getting a little twitchy on this. I was totally a mark during that Cody/Orton match. I was actually shaking a little with nerves as it neared its conclusion. Really glad the fans responded to it in the right way, and Cody knocked his promo out the park. If we get a Rhodes family reunion out of this I may just cream myself.
  4. There're a bunch of Sad Kermit covers. There's one for Elliott Smith's Needle In The Hay, complete with Kermy reenacting the scene from The Royal Tenenbaums. Kermit prepping for suicide is something I really didn't need to see.
  5. It would still spill over into other forums. If anything, it would be worse, because people would carry beefs over. I don't need or want to know about any of your political views.
  6. Andre could imbibe the Freebirds' weight in liquor and still be stone cold sober.
  7. Wrestling is best when people get emotionally involved and give a shit what is happening to the characters. People are pissed because they wanted their boy to get his revenge, and he didn't. That's a good thing. Fuck chilling out and watching wrestling. That isn't nearly as much fun.
  8. I hated Jericho's heel persona in WCW. Found it totally obnoxious. So it worked. Funny how sometimes you'll get totally worked by a great heel, and other times you'll totally embrace them. Anyway, I never really liked Jericho again after that. Whoever said Rock is a terrible babyface is bang wrong. By 2000 he was a really good working babyface, super sympathetic seller and timed his comebacks really well. And charismatic of course. I always found his character annoying though, so my favourite version of the Rock is probably sporadic comeback Rock. I can just appreciate him more that way. Some others: 1997 Bret is my favourite character/run ever Mankind from his debut up to about mid-98 King Bookah Veteran superworker Goldust from (was it?) 2011 Power of the punch Regal/Ruthless Roundtable Regal ECW champ Christian (yeah, ECW was awesome) WCW heel Eddy Paranoid attention-starved Steve Austin Pillman was a much better babyface worker, but I always loved his heel characters. Hart Foundation era is probably the best version, but the beginnings of that character as the Loose Cannon Horseman was top notch too Horseman Windham
  9. Is mixed the right word? I really don't think we're supposed to be talking about this.
  10. Didn't Ziggler's brother take to twitter to blast Bill DeMott and talk about the alleged environment of sexual harrassment/abuse in developmental? I would think that would be more damaging that saying the rookies can't work a crowd. Also, Ziggler could do a lot worse than being another Edge-type.
  11. Let's hope he doesn't end up another Kanyon ( I don't mean killing himself - although obviously I don't want that either).
  12. The company has a strange insistance on pushing relentlessly pushing AJ at the expense of anyone else she's connected to. Call it the Stacy Factor if you like. So, whatever they do, it ends with AJ, AJ and more AJ!
  13. The thing is, instead of the split brand ppvs making the lower card guys seem important by putting them on ppv, it just made the ppvs look weak for having a bunch of jobbers on them.
  14. 1997 WWF is my favourite year for wrestling by a country mile. My favourite match (Canadian Stampede 10-man), favourite feud (Bret/Austin going into US/Canada), favourite faction (Hart Foundation), and the best work of my favourite wrestler (8-Ball).
  15. Best match was probably Batista/'Taker from 'Mania 23. I saw a Vader/Cactus Jack match and a Sting and Dustin Rhodes Vs Orndorff and Windham bunkhouse match when I was younger, but I don't remember how good they were. Worst was probably a divas match, or that Chavo/Hornswoggle cow head match, but I just tune shit like that out. Harder to tune out something long and tedious like the Michaels/Cena match from Wrestlemania.
  16. Jesus Christ, that poor jobber getting killed by the Beverlys.
  17. Best book I ever read. Maybe the best book ever written. Love that line from Heller, when someone noted to him that he never wrote anything else as good as Catch-22, his reply was "well, who has?"
  18. The former fans I know often say that they don't watch anymore because too many of the wrestlers are just like normal people. No gimmicks, it's just 'regular named guy' vs 'regular named guy'. They're bored when they watch because there's no-one to really catch and hold their attention.
  19. That new show Stacy is hosting sounds like a terrible idea, and I can't see how it will possibly be good.
