JULY 2015 ANIMATED GIF THREAD

That Lawler GIF is disturbing and hilarious. -
Becky's bright orange hair isn't doing a thing for me.

First hour wasn't much beyond the NXT divas stuff, which was played up as a revolution, but really didn't feel like a big deal. It felt like something WWE would call a big deal - like WWE Fatal Four Way. Loved the Rusev vs. Cesaro vs. Owens match. It really made everyone seem like a star, except for Owens. Rusev came off like a total face here. Moreso when his fairly-earned shot was taken from him by an Owens cheapshot. The Stardust gimmick continuing was pretty stupid. Just make him Cody again, have him cut a great promo - because he can, and give him the IC Title and see what happens. Main event contract signing dragged on a bit, but wasn't really long - and I did enjoy Brock just flipping the table around with one hand like it was nothing. I loved Seth being a super-dick to Kane, although it feels like they've gone done this exact same road many times. Maybe Suplex City has a lot of roundabouts. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2015/07/wwe-raw-7-13-15.html Screens - Mr. Rusev's Wild Ride http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/x4n2hrpfa75ftfl7rwh6a7paloxndqab

2015 RING OF HONOR DISCUSSION THREAD
MGFanJay replied to RIPPA's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
After last night's show, I've determined that Dalton Castle is the perfect opening match TV guy. After THREE FUCKING HOURS OF WRESTLING already, and after a work shift, I didn't think I'd pay attention to ROH or even dig it. Thanks to his act, I was entertained by his match and put in a good mood throughout the show. ROH is so great as TNA's lead-in because of the comedy. You've got Dixie on TNA talking about making TNA the best promotion in the world and it isn't even the best one during Destination America's three hour wrestling block. -

ROH was more fun in the first 20 minutes than TNA was for its entire show. Castle-Watanabe was a ton of fun and Lethal's promo was excellent. He made himself a character babyface while still being a heel and I love the idea of him holding both titles. Main event was a blast and they're doing a fine job with Cole's face turn. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2015/07/roh-7-8-15.html Screens - FAN UP! The first half hour largely sucked beyond comedy from facial expressions. Make that about 45 minutes. There was just a ton of filler here with Josh flipping between face and heel a ton. Okay, pretty much the whole sucked other than the main event, which was too short. Best part of the show was probably Jeff Jarrett using TNA's TV to imply that GFW is bigger than TNA during the first part of tonight's two part two parter interview. http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-stories/101-mexico/43460-tna-impact-wrestling-july-8-results-a-recap-ec3s-first-title-defense Screens - Poor Matt The ratings are in http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/95wnulwpmtbo5ttq3triv8ev7isvuzi4

Recap of last week's Raw opening took a while, we got Heyman being great, and a goofy set of comedy bits with Kane and J and J. Show and Ryback killed a hot crowd, with co-star The Miz. Brie and Paige had a bad match. Bray-Roman recap. Cripes! Goofy Bray-related shit ended a nothing Roman-Sheamus match. Rusev BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF DOLPH in easily the best thing on the show to this point. Bo lost to Dean in a nothing match. THEN BROCK LESNAR DESTROYED A FUCKING CAR. Lucha Dragons lost to New Day in a match with Titus shining oh so brightly as a guest commentator burying JBL constantly. Then we got a fantastic Cena-Cesaro match. This was even better than last week's match. They got a ton of time and it felt so good to see Cesaro in a big match - the overrun match, for the first time in ages. The US Title also felt elevated a bit by this, and a damned WRESTLING MATCH WAS THE STAR OF THE SHOW HERE. SUPER AA FOR THE WIN. Wow. Cesaro was elevated in defeat, and in WWE, it's rare that anyone is elevated in victory. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2015/07/wwe-raw-7-6-15.html Screens - Oh, MY CAR! tt http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/hlkmozgp009u7xne44y0g3h02ef3vw9d

Partial Dominion thoughts - Skimmed through the show this morning - really enjoying spending a bit more time with the matches I cared about. Haven't gotten through everything, but the main event was an all-time great. All of the finishing stuff at the end...damn, that was Flair-Steamboat slick there. IC Title match had the right result, and the heavyweight tag title match was about what it needed to be and the best match between the teams so far. So who's the dude with the kid "driving"?
-
He was going to Japan anyway to visit Masa Saito one last time and figured "well, might as well have WWE pay for the trip" and did the match. It's very doubtful Brock got high six/seven figures for this - and if he did, good on him.
-
Loved Jericho-Neville - it was just what it needed to be. Divas title triple threat was a thing. BROCK-KOFI WAS PERFECT. Kofi took a great ass-kicking, but had enough from Kofi to where he didn't look like a total chump. Loved New Day being beaten up too - I now want Brock-Big E. Balor-Owens was just perfect. It had drama from beginning to end, and we got to see the WWE debut of BLOODY SUNDAY! "Fujiyami" celebration with Balor was nice. Glad to see Finn win it - they're doing everything right with him so far. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2015/07/wwe-presents-brock-lensar-beast-in-east.html Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/rmtwuiptmqsxjobv3ylvn62krv55z1gq

Sabin is so nothing now in the ring - and he's been like that since 2013. He's in flea market mode with his training and overall look now. AJ Styles, however, FUCKING RULES. -
The arm thing is just Davey making some weird bow and arrow gesture. King Cuerno can make it work - Davey can't.

Tag title match was good, but not quite great until the end. EC3 vs. Kurt had a big match feel, but wasn't as good as EC3 vs. Spud, which just seems wrong. KOs 3-way was fine, and the Jeff-Tenay interview was nothing. It wasn't even surface-level as they didn't even show him winning the KOTM Title. Still, this was a really easy show to sit through, and like how they set up Drew vs. the world for the elimination match that suddenly became a "this faction must end" match for some reason. http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-stories/100-tna/43364-tna-impact-july-1-tv-results-and-recap-ec3-vs-kurt-angle-world-title-match Screens - Athletic, Sexy, and Powerful http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/nib9cx6twegnq7xgkoreinjq9ieiv3hj

The opening was pretty good and at least entertaining throughout much of its 18 minutes. Miz was hilarious during Show-Mark, which was nothing. Ryback-Miz was nothing, and Paige beating Alicia via rollup was whatever. Bellas are now back as heels this week after apparently being faces last week. AMAZING Cena-Cesaro match. Owens attacked them both, which was perfect. In one night, they've remade Cesaro...if they want to. Lana and Dolph thiing was largely awful. Nice catfight between Lana and Summer though. Dean's homoerotic promo with Roman backstage was amusing. Neville had a nothing match with Sheamus and lost. Swagger is now beneath Barrett. Fast action to start, but we get a POST-BREAK CHINLOCK of course. Heels won thanks to the numbers game, Dean jobbed, and Roman ate five billion moves and the show FINALLY ended with a Sister Abigail. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2015/06/wwe-raw-6-29-15.html Screens - http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/xmlmh1aozba5q13f5wbkca3a3xg22cp0

Boy was the first third of this show just stuff. KOs match had Kong do more than she has since returning, and was a fine ass showcase at points. Storm vs. Magnus was a video game hardcore match using real people, who I sure hope got paid tonight. Aries-Davey wasn't much. Tyrus and EC3's tag was an SD mid-show main event, but with Brodus Clay, who is fatter and more jiggly than Homer Simpson now. KOTM was a cluster, but ended with a crazy EY piledriver on a ladder to Jarrett - who probably shouldn't be doing that at nearly 50, and the show itself concluded with a feel-good moment for Jeff and his family celebrating. Weird show. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2015/06/tna-slammiversary-2015.html Screens - TNA's got some booties http://http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/oa8vnn6d6q1hufwe7nrp02fuzxwgo17c

ROH sale is still ongoing - the only 2010 release still available is the Civil War show, which I went to. It's amazing to see Tyler Black go from wrestling in this giant tin tool shed to being WWE Champion in five years. -

There weren't any on display this week, sadly. Taryn's breasts were shining brightly though. -
God, The Rising sure wound up being possibly worse than the TNA Front Line. Why should they disband? If they're pro wrestling's version of warriors standing up for justice, shouldn't that cause extend beyond "these three men team up because..."?

THIS! SHOW RULED! THIS! SHOW RULED! ROH was an unbelievably fun show. I loved the opener and the main event so very much. Nothing here was a classic, but it was all very rewatchable and a riot. The Young Bucks are to the new 10s what the Midnights were for the '80s. They're one of the best teams of all time and easily the best of their generation. http://jayreviewsthings.blogspot.com/2015/06/roh-6-24-15.html Screens - http://http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/i66wp6eeoe6yssgp5ahqdcua9pqm1mtj -
What a crazy newsworthy day for TNA. Sadly, it didn't result in much build for the PPV. Jeff's return was both surprising in nature, but unspririsng given the GFW/TNA mergery rumors that have been going on for the last couple days. Heels vs. Wolves was really good, but nothing amazing. Ditto everything else. Uno won the green X Title...good for him. There wasn't much to the Angle-Hardy match, and Jeff Jarrett's in a king of the mountain match for some sort of goal to close out his TNA career. http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-stories/100-tna/43236-tna-impact-6-24-15-results-a-recap-final-show-before-slammiversary Screens - Heidenreich? http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/a54th1wettihugqd4izuefs35z3krge2
