My Undisputed Era shirt was hella over at the Alice in Chains*/Korn show I went to last year. Tons of random "Adam Cole Bay Bay!" shouts throughout the day. * = The band died with Layne. -

I was just going to say the same thing. If he shaved his beard before coming out on Nitro in 2000 he would've probably looked exactly the same. -

Food for thought: if COVID ends, and Raw gets low enough, is there a possibility AEW's planned second show goes live Monday nights? The idea of almost every "major" wrestling start-up since 2001 has been "Grab the missing WCW/ECW fans": XWF, WWA, TNA, GFW, etc. but have we reached a point where enough people have quit WWE that they might be worth attempting to hook on their night? Raw's numbers in 2010 when TNA tried it and Raw's numbers today are very different, and AEW would be bringing what they normally bring (rather than pushing their roster aside for Hogan, Flair, and Val Venis or whatever.) I'm not saying it's the smartest move, but I'm just wondering out loud if there's a bottom for Raw that would make it difficult for it to not at least attempt. @Death From Above editing to say i agree wholeheartedly. They lost me after 27 years! Granted, I spent a solid 4-5 of them as a WCW defector, but still. -

I used to be there a lot back in the day, but I kinda stopped playing EWR once my then-new girlfriend got one of the older WWE 2K games for free on Xbox and reintroduced me to them. I hadn't played since SVR 05 so all this Universe Mode stuff kind of scratches that itch. I went to a lot of signings as a kid and I remember some of the non-WWF sponsored ones were pretty outrageously priced, especially for back then, but even then at least you could shake hands and get a poloroid. $500 for a dude to just be like "Hey buddy happy birthday from the big dog" simultaneously seems like an extension of that but also kinda absurd. -

Who was the guy who bragged about how he couldn't be banned because he knew how to just keep re-registering and using a VPN? I remember getting really pissed off every time he showed back up because for years I had some kind of issue getting my account email confirmed to the point I thought the board was invite-only -

On the real, Tony Khan having a very similar IWC trajectory to my own is a very probable reason why I enjoy AEW as much as I do -

I wholeheartedly agree with the entire rest of your post, but I want you to know I had to give you the sad face because I marked out hard for the FTW title. -

It was about 1 AM at a school nightand I was super young, it was probably '95 or '96. My mom's "new special friend"/my future stepdad worked at a bar, and I guess Snuka stopped in for a pop after an indy show. I was woken from a dead sleep to my mom telling me Jimmy Snuka is on the phone. I was so weirded out by the whole thing, I couldn't even muster anything past "What's up man?" He responded, equally disoriented: "Remember kid, there's only one Superfly." Click. He was gone. -

This was totally one of those "Use the edit function directly after clicking post" posts. No idea how I spaced on Bossman. Great story on Bossman that I never get to tell: I met him at a signing when I was about 11 years old, and he held up the entire line for what seemed like an eternity because he decided I didn't look mean enough smiling in the first poloroid, and insisted- INSISTED- upon a second. Bossman would simply not take no for an answer, not from me, my parents, even from the people running the thing. Definitely my favorite childhood wrestling memory, and the reason why he was one of very few WWF heels I rooted for. (Jimmy Snuka calling my house is, uh, a little tainted now). -

This post is essentially meaningless yelling into the void, but I don't have anyone else to share with how badly that Austin Aries tweet pisses me off. I mean, that's absolutely enraging. Wait til it touches YOUR family, motherfucker. -

Thought of that too! And how great was Chuck D coming out later and apologizing to Elvis' family after finding out he wasn't a racist? Guessing that's not gonna happen on this one!! -

The Riddle thing is full of question marks if it's true that WWE has known since his hiring (at least his version, anyway). Not even speculating on whether his version is true or not, just saying that I believe there's a real possibility WWE may look at that and the restraining order he had apparently gotten, and sort of consider the issue dead or look the other way. A lot of people are gonna be done, at least for a while. It's a much different climate now in the world at large, mostly for the better, so it was really just a matter of time before wrestling's turn came - truthfully, I'm surprised there wasn't more of this during the initial Me Too jump start. Weird and sort of off topic but if there's one positive thing to come from this God awful pandemic, it's that at least everyone's glued to their screens already so with things like these people coming out with their stories, and on a larger scale, black lives matter, I get the vibe there's a lot more awareness amongst the average person than maybe during more positive times. Maybe I'm off base but just me, I'm probably wishful thinking but holy shit
