YouTube really wants me to watch various cell phone footage of Zoey Stark's injury, to the point that there were 3 versions of it in my "recommended" feed and it was suggested as a next watch after a Jeremy Parish (retro gaming) video. I would just like to say that I hope every single person posting that shit gets a similar injury. I skipped over the match specifically not to see that shit and only a really awful person would say "Everyone needs to see this from a better angle to really appreciate the misery!"

I've been shifting my weeklyish "Jesus do you REALLY need junk food at 9pm?" business from Circle K to 7-Eleven because while the beer is more expensive, the house brand junk is significantly better. The "hot dog" potato chips (basically all-dressed with catsup, mustard, onion and pickle flavorings) are a new favorite, so of course they're a limited time flavor. Working my way thru all their flavors, and while i probably wouldn't buy the Jamaican Jerk flavor again, i haven't had anything I'd call bad.

I lived in Indy from like Aug 99 to Feb 2000. Actually an even worse place to be a non-driving disabled person than Houston or Austin, and when I was thinking "it'll be nice to have a real winter" I was thinking like my childhood in Little Rock, where we'd have snow on the ground for a week or so. First time I walked a dog in a proper snowstorm I figured it wasn't for me.

So now we've got Jordan/Ruca for the Women's NA and Culling vs Briggs/Walker/Ledger to round out the card. My expectation is that I'll be watching AEW with friends and leave before Anarchy, and catching this the next morning. Grace/Vaquer will be a banger. Jordsn/Ruca will probably be enjoyable but I'm not really excited about it. Trick/Hendry is going to have nuclear heat, probably even enough to elevate a match that doesn't look all that must-see in terms of work. As for the main, when Borne won the battle royale it felt like they were doing a "fluke win" to make time until they have somebody ready to beat Femi, and now i don't think that's true. I absolutely think Oba's going to win, and I've made "Temu Randy" jokes the same as everyone else. And the near-pathological enthusiasm of the Orlando perverts can result in mirages of overseas. But the kid really seems to be stepping up to make this a real elevation, and I hope it works. I hope the Tampa crowd blows the roof off the arena and that he looks great and doesn't go right back to being the third most over member of a quartet of goofballs who are supposed to be deadly shooters but seldom win.

My stated desire to game more intentionally and do less grinding in SF6 and WWE and PinballFX has not resulted in a flurry of game completions or anything, but I've been gaming a bit less overall and going back more to my backlog. I remember being very disappointed in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance when I first played it on the double-pack with Aria of Sorrow, but going back to it in the Advance Collection and finally beating it (about 14 hrs total, official clear time for the final ending 11:31:03) I really can't figure out why. I had to visit YouTube a couple times for artifacts (like the Heart of Vlad) and puzzles, but i had a blast. I've been stuck at the end of Dawn of Sorrow since like 2 weeks after the Dominis Collection came out; I don't have the healing items necessary to beat Menace with my very poor skills but I'm pretty sure that if I tried to trek back thru Hell to get back to the city to buy more shit, I would just get eaten by snails or Demons. Gonna give it another couple shots after Dynamite, though.

So they finally added new stuff to the Faction Wars store; 2 women's teams and either 1 or 2 men's teams with red cards in them and 4 new blues as cards-of-the-month. That Shawn Spears is bugged, either he's gonna get nerfed or his OVR is an error, because a blue card with OVR89 shouldn't exist. Shame they're doing this now instead of 5/1, as i now have a full set of reds. Edited to add: the Shawn Spears card has been fixed. I didn't take down all his old individual stats and do an average, but whether he was nerfed or just had a misprint on his card before, he's now got an OVR of 79.

So i didn't really learn to play as T. Hawk til SF4. I stand by my prior statement that A3U is the coolest he ever looked, but I so rarely played chars with command grabs that I never put in enough time to realize how brokenly weak he is in A3U. His attacks all hit too high; his command grab and grab super will whiff on shorter characters, and most of his moves won't hit a crouching opponent. Oh well.

"Anything goes" for the participants doesn't necessarily mean "interlopers welcome." I do wish they'd do a better job of making those consequences clear, though. "Interfere and you're suspended without pay for 180 days" takes 3 seconds to throw in there.

The PS1 version of SFA3 was one of my most-played games in that era, and the arcade packs like Alpha Collection PS2 and 30th Anniversary have always felt like a letdown since they're missing several great characters (that is THE best T. Hawk has ever looked), so getting hold of the arcade version of Upper in CFC2 has made me a very happy man.

Check your unopened packs tab. It looks like a silver sideplate pack but says BONUS.

Cena is just so washed it's sad. Opener was fun mayhem, though I briefly got distracted by the 'Available at QT' turnbuckle ad and wondered if they had anything special in their food offering, like Wawa-level sandwiches. Turns out the answer is "milkshakes " Then I saw the top turnbuckle cover and realized it was Prime. One of my favorite dumb wrestling things is how, in no-DQ mayhem matches, when someone yanks a counting ref's leg the ref always, always yells "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Buddy it's obvious. What are you gonna do, DQ him? Becky/Lyra was awesome. Dom/Penta sadly had to have the fuck finish but it was hella fun until then. Dom has quietly gotten super good, hasn't he? The "daddy, daddy cool" football chant framework arriving in the US after years of them doing it on every UK show is kind of amusing, but did it have to be "Daddy, daddy Dom?" McAfee lasting an ungodly amount of time, but never coming close to winning, was the right choice but I never really cared. I dunno man. Everything was at least watchable, and one match I really loved, but we absolutely didn't need this show.

Yes, you'll get a card for each of the new chars. Last year, the first pack was all blue and each subsequent wave went up a tier, with the last 2 sets being Diamonds. Possibly also a Manager card for the celeb guest.

MCMG had their entrance video posted and it looks good. No stats or card reveals for anyone, and only 1 of 4 entrances, is weird this close to the first drop of the year. New card pack is frigging weird; it's a "greatest hits" of older card blocks, with a pretty high draw rate. I bought 3 packs because the first 2 each had the WM41 Cody that I already had, thus paying for themselves. The 3rd had KO from the Tempest booster. Grabbing a card anywhere fills it in everywhere, so you'll get rewarded for any new pulls both under the greatest-hits set and the one it originally came from. That fucking Wargames at the end of the first NYC chapter. If they were smart they threw enough money at Booker to get him in the studio to yell "Ah! Ah! Ah!" solely for when Stephanie uses the Devil's Kiss (the neck-fucking thing) on him

And I'm determined to win it simply because there's a month-long chain that ends with a purple masked Punk persona, but you have to get the HHH card from the Roman birthday event to go further, and it's obnoxious but not fuck-you obnoxious. Gonna try again with Ilja, simply because it's easier to get to 90 with strikers than other classes.

I cannot describe the joy of taking an OVR 76 Kurt Angle into a match with a Roman with perfect stats who starts with full meter, and stuffing 3 spears and a Superman punch in 90 seconds. If only I'd won the match after that

Personally, I kind of loved the Allreds' idea from the end of their FF run (Matt Fraction left partway thru, credit him too if this was an idea from before he exited) that Doom has fixed his face repeatedly with magic or science, and still wears the mask (and often ends up disfigured again) because deep down he sees the mask as his true face. ObWrestling: I know I say this here every few years, but I still want to see a one-night tournament where a chickenshit heel pays other heels to jump them 9 seconds into the match for the first 2 rounds (causing the heel to win by DQ) so that the finale is a babyface who's won 2 wars vs a heel who's fresh as a daisy...and then the face guts it out and wins.
