  1. This won't cancel Jericho, nor should it. A vague rumor from an unknown source of an event that happened four years ago shouldn't torpedo anyone's career. Now if this leads to more information/allegations that's different of course, but just what came out today alone (a unsourced podcast mention from someone with an agenda and a heart emoji from Kylie) I certainly wouldn't pull Jericho from the PPV or whatever else some want to happen. People are so fast to play judge, jury, and executioner with very little information.
  2. I like the theory, even though there have been very little on TV to hint at it, that it is two people. If Adam Cole and Britt are the Devils and it starts this weird power couple evil storyline I'd be open to seeing where they went with it. Sounds funny in my head but could be awful in reality.
  3. As a Braves fan, I feel bad about them trading away Grissom but he just never found a place in the Braves line-up and there didn't appear to be any holes opening up within the next few years that he could fill. He was just going to be a AAA/utility guy even though I do think he is talented. Hope he finds success in Boston but picking up a solid SP is a good trade for them.
  4. I think it could still work, if MJF needs time off anyway due to injuries (and to give him a TV break). Cole could be revealed as the mastermind, stomp on MJF to give him a month off or two, and by the time they build up their feud they could hold off having a match until May or June since MJF would have to "go through" the minions first. I say all that not knowing how long Cole will be out, if he will be out of action until late 2024 then that's too much time to kill.
  5. Most signs still point to it being Adam Cole, both with on screen hints (Cole encouraging MJF to keep his deal with Joe and some other smaller things) and general wrestling logic. I think if its anyone but Cole I'd consider that the swerve, and hopefully not a Russo "swerve for the sake of having a swerve" which TK generally has avoided doing in AEW's run. Either way it needs to end Saturday, I've generally found it to be fine TV but for better or worse we need a conclusion.
  6. Flacco beating a guy that died would be a pretty impressive comeback. I think people are getting a little too excited about Flacco as he is still very Flacco, but its a fun story so I don't begrudge anyone for getting into it. He definitely would have been better for the Jets than the players they'd gone with this year anyway.
  7. Mullens out too. Not a good week to be a mediocre QB on a mediocre team.
  8. If I had to pick, I'm on Team Russ in this situation. What you two are describing are slightly different situations. Sure my job can fire me whenever they want. But I think a good percentage of people if their boss came up to them and said "hey, no matter how good of a job you do, we are firing you in three months" may not work quite as hard. Its just demoralizing and discouraging for the worker. In IT I work with a lot of contactors with set end dates and they generally don't care as much or go as hard as the FTEs do, its just human nature. That being said, of course Russ continuing to play and be motivated should be the expectation. But it couldn't have been easy working under a coach that clearly doesn't want you, and already told you that you are losing your job as soon as realistic. NFL players have been whiny divas since at least the 1980s so that wouldn't have gone over well in any modern era.
  9. Sam Howell, DeVito, and Big Russ all demoted. It is that time of year that teams shake it up.
  10. Have we considered that maybe Derek Carr is just not a good QB.
  11. I loved it but its.... unique. It an odd combination of many different genres. Some tactical RPG, some deckbuilding, relationship/friendship building, it has a real identity crisis. I generally recommend it to people if minimally they like tactical RPGs like XCOM but its too unique of a game for me to recommend too enthusiastically. And its pretty long too so if you like the style you definitely get the bang for your buck. Best Buy has the enhanced edition for $20.
  12. Chase Claypool too! How do the Steelers draft so many low-effort WRs? I can't think of any other WRs off the top of my head from the last couple years that got the low-effort label except for three the Steelers drafted. Either their scouts are not noticing something or there is a real coaching/practice problem.
  13. I'm offended, OUTRAGED EVEN, that you forgot that I wrote there too during that time period. But yea Inside Pulse was quite a time, for awhile there they were really making an effort to be a major online player for wrestling. Actually I may have been writing there right after you were gone so I'm no longer offended, I take it back.
  14. Why are the Steelers so good at drafting low effort/bad WRs?
  15. Watching the success of James Cook since Brady took over as OC makes me think Dorsey wasn't just a scapegoat but an active part of the problem. Bills offense has looked totally different since Brady took over. I do wish they could get Diggs more involved but they stopped forcing the ball to him and letting the run game cook, its just clicking so much better.
  16. Its a weird thing. I disagree with his list but its odd to me that people have such an issue with him having one. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are #1 and #2 in career 4th quarter comebacks, which to me is the very definition of a game changer. Nothing is more game changing than having ice in your veins and dealing with the pressure to mount a comeback, and the fact both did it over such a long period with different coordinators, teammates, and even teams shows they weren't just a 'system' QB. But I understand where he is coming from as in a way he's making his own definition of the term. By his definition the only one I disagree with him naming is Joe Burrow (Burrow is stupid good but as far as being a 'game changer' he doesn't seem to fit with the others on his list). I don't know if it would have helped if he put out the second video at the same time as I think he explained himself well, agree with him or not he's certainly entitled to his opinion and has the credentials.
  17. I don't watch enough Chargers games to give an educated analysis, but even with a not 100% Ekeler its kinda mind blowing that before the Raiders game they had scored two touchdowns in three weeks. Especially as they had plenty of games this year, even as recent as early November that the offense was still pretty effective. I don't generally believe in players "giving up" on their coaches, at least not as a collective unit, but something had to have been amiss. Maybe he wasn't a great motivator, game planner, I don't know but the Chargers way underachieved the last couple years based on their talent on-paper.
  18. On the plus side, the chances of getting Scorigami are pretty good.
  19. Staley may not survive much after the season ends.
  20. That has to be a new record for how short of a time a hyped/top five selling game (even for a day) lasted before the developer shut down and the game was removed from Steam. Good work. Was gone so fast we never even got to talk about it in the proper thread.
  21. What a fourth quarter of the Dolphins/Titans game, I thoroughly enjoyed that.
  22. At least its not also on turf, we would have had a double whammy of complaints.
  23. All it takes is one owner to go so far against the spirit of a rule to get it changed. Owners and players didn't have an issue with deferred payments but they took it to such an extreme I can't imagine it not being brought up in the next CBA. As now there will other owners that say "well the Dodgers did it, so can we" and suddenly players will be offered a lot more money but with a massive deferment. Which kinda breaks the point of having some sort of quasi salary cap, even one many teams already ignore.
  24. It makes me wonder if one reason that drive never moved another inch is that Mahomes was so over the top pissed off about it he lost focus. Even during the post game handshake he complains to Josh Allen about the call (like the person that cares the least in the entire stadium), I've never seen such an over the top reaction to a correct call. The non-PI call against them last week was much worse and didn't get this type of reaction. I figure it has to be a combination of frustration from the season and legitimately being mad that Kelce's "legendary" play didn't count, its rare to see a player be so animated about a simple offsides call.
  25. To be fair we have no indication if that happened with Toney. With McLaurin, it was a situation where it was an illegal formation issue, related to how many are on the line. I don't think WRs typically ask the referees if they are offsides or not.
