  1. I had absolutely no idea Glover/Davis was happening until I opened this thread.
  2. I just can't keep up any more. Now, I just avoid social media the night of the UFC card and watch it when I wake up Sunday morning. Much easier.
  3. He sort of is. His best win is probably King Mo, which says a lot. He has a reputation that is pretty much built on nothing. But he is not given that Cormier's best LHW win is Pat Cummins. The problem is Cormier didn't really need to win at LHW. The issue was proving he could make the weight cut. Bigfoot, Barnett, Mir, Nelson should be more than enough to be at the front of the line at LHW right now. There is zero to gain from fighting Feijao. Feijao isn't being fast tracked for stardom or anything. This is a nothing fight with all downside. He might as well be fighting Cummins again.

  5. The only fight that makes any sense in Lil Nog. Henderson has absolutely nothing for Cormier.
  6. Nope. Okada/YOSHI-HASHI vs. Fale/Tonga @ Invasion Attack. Yuck.
  7. I can't seem to figure out why they wouldn't put Fale over Shibata, if that is the route they want to go. Much more meaningful.
  8. What? LHW has become more shallow than HW at this point. It used to be THE division but not anymore. There isn't a division other than HW that a person could really argue as being as weak as LHW. In addition to that, putting either of those guys in a top 10 is pretty ridiculous. How the hell could a person have Dan Henderson, a guy who has lost three in a row in the top 10? He hasn't had a significant win in three years. Shogun is the similar but at least he's had some wins in that time frame although his wins in the last three years are Forrest, Vera, and Te Huna. If you have either of those guys on a top 10 list that further shows how bad that division is. I struggle with this thought process sometimes. Hendo's losses are to #2 and #3 at MW and #3 at LHW. Does losing to those 3 guys mean you aren't 8th in the division? I don't know. His problem is that he is fighting the top of the division so while it looks bad that he's losing, it's a bit different. I'm not sure how to mentally account for things like that.
  9. The point is that it proves that he's not one dimensional overall or hasn't been one dimensional overall and has other aspects in his game that he just opts not to use. Someone like Paul Daley, Professor X, Pat Barry, etc. are the true definition of one dimensional. Again, I understand what you are trying to say, but that absolutely does not prove any point. That fight happened 3 YEARS! before BJ stole his soul, and that fight feels like an eternity ago. It's a different sport now. It very clearly a different Diego Sanchez. I do think he's a decent defensive grappler, but I certainly wouldn't use the Karo fight as the barometer.
  10. I get what you are saying, but how the hell are you going to reference a Diego Sanchez fight that happened in 2006?
  11. Right after the Bigfoot/Hunt fight, I talked about how it was entertaining, but I didn't think it was "good." Hendricks/Lawler explains my point.
  12. I'd be interested to see if the betting line for Weidman/Belfort moves at all with this news.
  13. 41% chance that there's no Rampage/Mo fight, per 5Dimes odds. Great strategy Bellator. To put that in perspective for some people, 41% is how often Albert Pujols got on base so far in his career.
  14. I actually think this is perfect, minus icing the title for the show. RDA/Khabib winner can fight Grant (if he can ever fight), Thomson, maybe Barboza if he beats Cerrone. It's lining up nicely. Khabib needs a win against someone currently ranked. Missing weight in the Trujillo fight doesn't help either. RDA is being ignored way more than Khabib is.
  15. Why does everyone make it out to be so simple? Punk was/is a pro wrestler so he there's no way he can be good at anything else? Come on. It's not like he would be getting the Weidman/Belfort winner or something. He's rolled for a while. We have no idea what his ground skill level is. Think about some of the people that we've seen fight over the past two years. There's a lot of crap out there.
  16. I just want to see top level guys doing top level things. It's hard to articulate on here. I was completely entertained by Hunt/Bigfoot, but watching them gassed out of their minds for 20 minutes sours it for me. There are too many fights now for that to be the best fight of the year. Jones/Gus was some high level shit. Same with Chandler/Alvarez. Cardio is a factor for me. It's part of the package.
  17. Jones/Gustaffson. Hunt/Bigfoot was entertaining but it's not "good." I don't get the love for Melendez/Sanchez. Melendez beat the breaks off of him for 14 minutes. It wasn't entertaining (as a fight) or competitive.
  18. So much of this award is volume, at least for me. I can't vote for anyone that only won two fights. When there are guys out there that have 3 or 4 high level guys in the year, that holds so much weight. That's why I'm voting for DJ out of these choices. Him starching Benavidez to close out the year was the perfect icing on the cake.
  19. Robbie Lawler should not be in this poll over Urijah Faber. 4 wins. 3 finishes. 3 of the 4 wins are all over guys ranked in the current top 15. Not only is it crazy that Faber isn't in the poll. I think he should win. Although, you could make a case for Vitor if he were in.
  20. Hendo is actually ranked higher than Shogun but I know what you are saying.
  21. Dominick Cruz is out of the fight with Renan Barao with a torn groin. Barao/Faber II at UFC 169. Dude has some shit luck.
  22. Imagine how different things would be if BJ Penn won the first Edgar decision. That's when it really gets wild.
  23. Ha, was killing me being unable to figure out who he was reminding me of so much.. My girlfriend who knows very little wrestling and MMA (mainly due to myself coercing her to watch it), said the same exact thing. I responded "You're Welcome!" I think he looks exactly like Rafi from The League.
  24. I'll be honest, I had GSP 3-2. I see Twitter freaking out about how this is the worst decision ever. This isn't even remotely close to Pacquiao/Bradley. Light years from it.
