  1. Sol Ruca and Zaria are a wonderful team and a terrific take on the traditional odd couple pairing. This is the most awesome version of this since The BROserweights before COVID ruined that one.

Roadblock is filling up nicely. Fraxiom vs Hardys is a weird dream match, but it should be pretty interesting.

It's odd and nice to see Ethan Page actually get to do stuff and Shawn Spears actually winning a title. Good on both of them.

Tony D'Angelo got screwed here, but will it be a Family Feud between those two factions from here on out?

Ridge Holland beefing with Saints now? Man, don't start shit with him yet, wait until they've gotten the initial newcomer push out of the way. This will probably end badly for you!

Moose vs Oba Femi will be pretty interesting but as long as this guy is the champ, the real main event will always be the Women's title. So is Giulia headed to the main roster after Wrestlemania? Roxanne and Trick certainly are.

How badly did Cora get hurt? Will she still face Masha on Impact!?

  2. Welcome to the 4-0 club @The Natural! Glad to see you here before I'll be too old to be a member in a few more years! Hopefully you are getting over the chest cold. Feel better soon, my man! And if you're still feeling under the weather, you know you can always slightly postpone the celebrations and have the cake once you are back feeling decent. That's totally fine now, it's one of the many perks of being a member of the big 4-0 club!

Seriously, that 2002-2004 era of WWF was fucking dire. Are we sure that someone didn't have a gimmick like this during that era?

Vince pissed himself when Austin threatened him with a prank gun, but other than that I can't recall one right off the bat.

The fact that McMahon and Russo didn’t book a guy with an erectile dysfunction gimmick, “Justin Adequate,” means that sometimes things do work out for the better.

Or a guy constantly wetting himself, but still Ok with it, Justin Cont(in)ent!

Leyla Hirsch is soon done with AEW, her contract expires tomorrow.

Damn. But depending on if she has a shot at getting into WWE, there is a chance that she could team up with Ivy Nyle! Not a big chance, but I'm taking any chance at it, which may be available.

  6. I have only briefly checked out what is available on Netflix. PPV's at least, it seems.

Here's the dilemma. I'm about to go to spend the day and evening with 2 of my co-workers and along with drinking and sauna (we are all on our Winter break/holiday this week) we're supposed to watch WWE from Netflix. What should we watch from the past two years, which is all new to me as well? Unfortunately, something like Wrestlemania 40 is probably too long.

Last time we watched something it was 3 matches from NXT/ NXT UK Takeovers:

    Tyler Bate vs WALTER

    WALTER vs Tomaso Ciampa

    Ilja Dragunov vs WALTER II

    All these were well received.

    Suggestions?

If you listen to the Steiners theme as the Hail to the Victors soundalike that it is, it’s fine.

As actual entrance music… meh. But that era of entrance music wasn’t really the best for WWF as a whole, so they were probably doomed anyway.

I also liked the Steiner Brothers WWF theme.

Nothing wrong with liking the theme, I just think that how much The Steiners kicked ass in the ring, none of their themes really reflected that!

Did I understand correctly that they actually used Welcome to the Jungle some other time than their brief ECW stint before returning to WCW in '96? That would be a step in the right direction, yet still not enough, since they'd need something akin to Creeping Death, instead.

I want to create a bot or ai that will do my news for me, and long after i am ded. So in 2078 there will still be AJP news maybe with my name on it.

Nice notion and I am sure it can be done, it's just that by 2078 there won't be anyone left to read it. Of course, that's a moot point, since if you are dead, literally nothing bothers you, so go ahead!

I would call it “suffering through” Faulkner, not reading him. That was the worst experience I had in my Freshman English class.

That's how I felt about James Joyce, after suffering through (doubtfully in its entirety, though) "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" in some literature class during my first year in the university. Even to this day, I mostly stick to non-fiction when I read books. I was like, "the years spent in the university was enough prose for me, thanks!"

The WWF Crush theme music was way cooler than a theme used for a year for a Hawaiian babyface should have been. At least when it comes to the sort of music the Steiners should have had once they couldn’t use Guns N Roses anymore

That's a good idea. Also, there have been a handful of times that WWF has recycled themes and if Crush's theme still went to Crush, maybe Sid Justice's theme from 91-'92, (which was pretty similar to Crush's theme) could have gone to The Steiners instead? Maybe revamp the Powers of Pain's short-lived theme (when they first arrived as faces) with some Crush-level heavier quitar riffs. Anything but what they were stuck with.

Here's the Powers of Pain theme for reference.

I like one counts, especially early in matches.

Even if it will bite you in the ass later on in the match due to being somewhat more exhausted from kicking out faster, I would prefer if wrestlers started the matches by kicking out before one just to show "you are nowhere near of beating me yet!" and progress from there to the 2.9999 counts right before the actual end. And while I DO love the "fuck you!" kick out at one late in the match, it's usually the correct move to have the following pinfall attempt lead to a three count afterwards.

between Luger and the theme they had for the Steiners, it's like they decided that those guys needed music that was lame

Unfortunately, The Steiners especially, have seemingly struggled to ever get a wrestling theme that was in tune with how bad-ass they were! Luger had one good theme and even that was a far cry from what he probably should have had!

When I can't sleep, I have my own version of counting sheep as well. I rattle off the names of dead wrestlers. It usually doesn't take me long before I'm sound asleep.

I go with naming title histories of defunct championships (from this guy to this guy and so on) and sometimes dead wrestlers on Royal Rumbles or early (the first 20 or so) Wrestlemanias, myself. Usually, I don't have to go too far along before falling asleep, either!

  14. Oh, and by the way things are going with Max Caster's open challenge, he should probably rename the thing "Max's Caster-ration!" He has the annoying character down to a T, however! I hope this is his own idea.

Also, watched the main event again and it was pretty fantastic. A few huge spots in there and Jericho hitting Lionsault in a relatively clean and not in a "he almost just died" way was good, too! The ending counter into the sunset flip/victory roll pinning combination was very nice and tightly hooking both legs and clutching his hands during the pinfall showed nice desperation. Bandido still ended up looking awesome in this. Now, get him in the ring with Beast Mortos ASAP!

And yeah, Speedball Mike Bailey coming in! Fuck yes! That'll be awesome! Unnecessary, but totally awesome!

Speaking of Caster, I wonder which dead wrestlers he considers to have been better than he is now?

  15. The opening with Mariah and Toni was great, and it became apparent that Mariah was parodying Toni's melodramatic style when challenging her to a Hollywood Ending. Let's see what that entails?

The Harley promo was awesome, too! Way to go, Harley! Run with those big dreams of your next door neighbour!

The opener was better than their first match but not quite the 2/3 falls classic at WrestleDream! Ok, now Beast can move on to Bandido finally and Hologram and Kommander can become the new Lucha Bros! All they need now is a taunt! Something like "Cero Rizz!"

Trios match was good. Obviously, nobody expected a title change here, but whatever.

Surprise submission ending in Aminata vs Hart. I guess the octopus is a finisher now? Did they change the lyrics to the theme song? I think I heard "Hart always wins" this time!

Gabriel Kidd vs Butcher was a war, although pretty short.

Slept through most of the Jericho-Bandido so I need to get back to that one.

Is anyone but DreamBroken still watching ROH? ROH sounds great but if I were paying for it I'd be mad about the title match being on AEW TV. But I'm not, so it made me happy 😀

I have Honor Club, yes, but the last time I watched anything from it was the latest PPV from late last year. I intend to watch the Global Wars tomorrow to see that new luchadore tag team Los Outrunners just to see what's that about!

Yeah I have no clue who actually screwed up here, but it is bad enough that someone needed to be screamed at and if someone did do it intentionally it's a disciplinary/borderline fireable offense.

Not blaming anyone but this is eeriely similar to that time when Thunder Rosa made Ivelesse no sell Rosa's armbar to get her fired. Coincidence? Just askig questions.

Looking at the one in the middle, I hadn't realized there were Hollywood Blonds before Austin and Pillman

I actually had read that name in a magazine (Wrestling World, I think?)  in a story about Cowboy Bill Watts a year (well, 6ish months in real time) before Pillman and Austin started calling themselves that. I was like, wait, they're using THAT name now?
