NXT invades Main Event this week with Karrion Kross taking on Shelton Benjamin and Bronson Reed facing Drew Gulak.

It would have been better if Kross was facing Jeff Hardy, but the 2nd match sounds alright maybe.

I'm oddly fascinated by the idea of Kross vs Benjamin. Reed vs Gulak could be swank if it was competitive enough. I have my doubts about that, though.

  2. The week is once again most likely done at this point. Nordic Midsummer is upon us that means binge- drinking, meat and sausages on the grill and trying to avoid drowning. The real Scandinavians may have other weird-ass customs at this time of year, but for a large portion of us Finns, I pretty accurately described next three days.

I feel like I may have peaked a bit early, as the summer vacation is a couple of weeks away and I feel spent. I managed two workouts, one 12-hour shift (Monday night) and after I woke up this afternoon, one walk/jog to the stairs (on top a a hectic 4-day work week due to Friday being off). After the jog, I weighed in at 169 and there's no way I want to go below 165, but I can feel my metabolism slowing down, so I don't think that's gonna happen anyway.

As a funny side note, at the stairs, there were two kids sitting at the top of them, packed lunch and all, with their phones. I really hope they weren't watching videos of people running up a flight of stairs on Youtube while sitting there.

As a prize for winning the 50-hour exercise challenge at work (with 214 hours in 3 months), I got a power wheel and a massage hammer. I guess I have a spare hammer now and I did not have a power wheel at home, so yay!

Workouts were the usual full upperbody on Tuesday and Squat machine/calves, shrugs and other light upperbody stuff on Wednesday. Just to get something done.

Now I'm starting to think my abs have never looked better. Too bad my skin is nowhere near as firm as it was at 37 or so. That may ruin the effect a little bit. Also, now I can clearly see the effect of doing reverse shrugs for more than a year. Ok, so THAT is pectoris minor. I'm not sure if I like it. I guess I understood "barrel-chested" a bit wrong. Well it's too late now, it's not like I can stop once I see something actually becoming more pronounced at this stage.

If within the next two days some of my posts are (even) less coherent than usual, it will most likely be due to Vodka and Gin. I'll pick my self up and start again next week!

  3. Drew vs Lashley in a Cell was like 8 GT's at breakfast (depending how you feel about that sort of thing). Drew vs Lashley in a Cell ending the way it did was like the ending of a day with 8 GT's at breakfast (regardless of how you feel about that sort of thing).

Wouldn't it be funny if in a year's time, when all the Britwres indies were back to running sold out shows, NXT-UK were still taping empty arena in BT Sport?

Well, not sure if funny is the exact phrasing for it, but it's definitely a thing that might happen. I'm not sure if you were referring to a situation where they weren't trying to tape without fans but no one would want to show up, then yeah, that would be tragi-comical at the very least.

I remember noticing it probably weeks before he turned and joined the Nation. Not sure if he had it the whole run though. I've been seeing  alot of clips of Ahmed on my Instagram explorer and I wish he did get a run with the title. Vince was really high on him and I was a huge fan of him too.  He had bad luck too. Especially  when Faarooq debut and injured him on top of the fact that most of the Nation members bury him in interviews now. He also says that people at the top were telling Vince that the people weren't ready for a Black World champion. That obviously wasn't true especially because he was very over but guys were obviously threatened by him that they had to use that talking point in 96-97 to get a head of him politically. He could've been what Vince wanted out if Lex Luger years earlier

I thought Ahmed was awesome. I started reading the internet about a year after he had debuted in the WWF and until then I figured he was about as good as it gets. The first big injury derailed him bad. Then he seemed to be injuring himself whenever he got some steam back. Before that, he was injuring others. Without people obviously playing against him and that first big injury, his WWF career could have looked way different. If you think the fans at the time wouldn't have bought him as the champ, I've got news for ya! He was really over and getting more so, before he had to give up the IC title due to injury. After that, it was never the same for him again. First black WWF champion would have been him, under just slightly different circumstances.

  6. Yeah, I don't know how WWE wants me to feel about the whole angle and I try not to get bothered about it, because it's main roster, so no biggie. But they did miss an opportunity, when Shanyna stomped Alexa's arm and she screamed at first but then started laughing. Since she can do that double jointed thingy with her arm, she should have done that, then straighten it back into place, like Triple H's vampire character in Blade Trinity did! That would have been amazing.

  7. In the vignettes I saw,  Shayna was indeed doing a good job.

When Bayley pointed out that she was once like Bianca, that was good, but most of the stuff in the recap revolved around the stupid fake laughter and Bayley should be better than that.

I don't really see how Alexa isn't believable in her role, other than the fact that being posessed by a demon nun isn't believable in and of itself, since it hasn't happened since the 70's.

Oh, for sure.  I always knew that Alexa was a horror movie fan but didn't realize that she would crush it in one until I saw what she was doing.  Granted this was a couple months ago so if she's gotten better at this this then that's great.

I've pretty much only seen the stuff shown on PPV's, but every glimpse I've seen has been top notch, especially given the material she has to work with.

  9. Now obviously Bayley vs Bianca was on a whole another level as a match, but it is interesting that Bayley' great character work has been reduced to a fake laughter that she's absolutely terrible at while Alexa Bliss continues to be absolutely on point with every little thing her character does (well, not necessarily the wrestling part, but still). The material she's stuck with should sink absolutely anyone and she's swimming laps around basically everyone else. She might want to do some small scale acting in the near future.

Holy crap! What was that crazy bastard Cactus Jack going to do to those poor sick kids? Take them to an amusement park, where they obviously wouldn't be well enough to get on any rides and make fun of them whilst riding the fiercest roller-coaster himself?

...The kids didn't turn on Sting somewhere in there, did they? I mean , I have to ask , right ?

Jinny is supposedly a fashionista but she wrestles in her Gran’s swim trunks? Morgan hits a sweet as hell 630 and it’s one of the best I’ve ever seen. Graceful but with a big impact, even better than Evans’ in my opinion.

I can't say I'd be aware of what passes for high fashion these days, so I can't give much insight on that, but maybe since she's a heel, she really isn't nearly as fashionable she thinks she is?

Fun question while I make Hamburger Helper: Who were your favorite wrestlers as a kid? The people that got you all into wrestling.

Earliest I have seen actual wrestling was late '87. At the time, Sky channel showed '86 Superstars reruns on Monday, '87 reruns on Thursday and current '88 episodes on Saturday. The British Bulldogs and The Ultimate Warrior were my biggest favorites early on. Just like Benoit few years later, I sure knew how to pick 'em, eh? Didn't age particularly well, but those were my guys in the beginning.

    Assuming you mean on TV

    • Mia Yim - #1 contenders qualifying match (12/12/18 (aired))
    • Piper Niven - NXT UK (5/1/19 (aired))
    • Candice LeRae - NXT 5/22/19 (aired)
    • Tegan Nox - NXT 4/15/20 (aired)

So maybe not the best idea ?

Now that being said - after that Nox match the last time Gonzalez lost a singles TV match was when she lost the ladder match to Shotzi for the WarGames advantage (her only other defeats were the tag match they lost the titles, 6 man at IYH 2020 (both those matches Kai was pinned) and a #1 contenders Battle Royal which was used to set up the Raquel/Rhea feud

Damn, I didn't realize she had actually been on TV that much as Reina. In that case, I retract my previous statement and maintain that Kacy & Kayden should be the next tag team champions instead.

You look like a damned action figure. Hard work paying off.

Thank you very much! That has been my intention since I was 5 years old. It's hard work indeed, without steroids, but I do enjoy it.

...I did go for a short jog on Friday and had one hour pump workout at the gym, so the week wasn't quite as done as I figured.

i feel like Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (No Way Out 2000) is severely underrated, and usually gets overshadowed by their Rumble match.

That was a good one-two punch to show to people who hadn't seen wrestling, or hadn't seen wrestling since WWF 80's!

  16. Right, I'm pretty sure this week is done now, as far as gym is concerned. I'll try to go for a jog or a walk first thing in the morning, since I need to go to the store for some essentials. Due to Sunday's 12 hour shift at work, I started the week around 175lbs and before midnight (it just turned into Friday) I was at 170.

I had two jogs to the stairs and back so far this week and 4 workouts 3 in the gym and one at home, which yielded my new profile pic. Monday was good, despite working on Sunday. Put on 60 lbs of extra weight for the pull-ups etc. All the usual Monday stuff was there and it went well.

Tuesday was a similar leg day than last weeks one, but somewhat lighter this time. I put on 110 lbs at first and just tested how low the machine actually lets you go. Yeah, it's pretty damn low, but it does stop by itself at some point. Doing that with 220 lbs was already pretty bad. Did sets with 308 and 352, then calves with the same and some deep squats with 110 again at the end.

Wednesday was a jog and home workout with two 26 lb kettlebells, resistance bands and bodyweight. For the life of me I couldn't do enough push-ups to get my chest properly pumped for the pic. It's pumped, sure, but not like after a bench or dip workout. Abs are rocking, though.

Thursday was bench and other light upperbody stuff. Did get the couple of reps with 264 and 275, but I did most of the sets with less than that, with a bunch of sets with 220 and 132 in the end. That sure got my chest properly pumped.

I think going below 170 this week is somewhat early for that, so I plan to get a bunch of carbs in the form of a sweet potato and regular baked potatoes to go along with my pork tenderloin dish I'll be making once I get back from the store. But now I need some sleep. Good week, I'll give Trapbar a rest this time around.

  17. Someone should have had the guts to point out that Kacy holds a pinfall victory over Raquel "Reina" Gonzalez from MYCII! She should campaign for a shot at the title based on that. Who else has even pinned her? Just Rhea?

  18. Alright, Chester! I've said it before, I advocate walking as a good form of exercise, so definitely keep doing that. Since you enjoy golf, when possible, try to squeeze in another round. In everyday life, take the "harder" way of doing all the regular stuff. Take the stairs, not the elevator or escalator, park your car further from where ever it is you are going etc. These tiny inconveniences also add up pretty quickly for some weight loss. Holding on to muscle mass while losing weight, resistance training of some sort is imperative.

...Also, changed the profile pic  (again) from "before" to "during". Dicked around with the editor to maximize the shades and stuff! 40 minute pump prior to the photo and water and moisturizer for shine.

    Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke

And since they are both indeed blondes who are very much into fitness, it helps to diffrentiate one from the other if you remember that the scorching hot one is Dana Brooke and the smoulderingly hot one is Mandy Rose.

Well, and Rose was the one who slipped during her Wrestlemania entrance, maybe that helps more? What? Otis? Ok, Mandy had an angle with Otis and Dana had a Twitter angle with Batista in the past.

Doudrop just makes me think they're going to Bertha Faye her.

Yeah, I'm getting a bad Honey Boo-Boo -vibe from that name that I certainly do not want to be getting. If she gets paired up with Eva for more than this one shot, it is likely we getting similar stuff that Alexa and Nia ended up being a few years back.
