  1. Letting Miz have one devastating but cheap move would graduate him from "chicken shit who cheats but is helpless without his weapon", to "guy who doesn't deserve his success but found this one secret move that makes him impossible to beat." Like a low blow.
  2. Not really an el cabong as much as a sick thud. Crowd going nuclear too.
  3. This, exactly. I would like to listen to your podcast, sir.
  4. Jeff Jarrett is one of my least favorite wrestlers and the guitar shot is my favorite plunder move. Except if I could I would put so much powder in there everyone would look like they got antiqued. Guitars + powder = pro wrestling.
  5. I don't know anything about guitars but do they all come with baby powder?
  6. I tried that Cornette podcast a few times, I tend to think you have to hear something a few times to get used to it, but I had to cut it off. It really was terrible. Between the antiquated wrestling views and the political discussion that encompasses "IF I YELL LOUD ENOUGH, I HAVE TO BE RIGHT", I couldn't take it.
  7. Mark Henry is the perfect example of a monster that can be so good, but you just can't run him out there every week for years on end. So great for a six-eight month/one year run and have him disappear for a while.
  8. So after the only heat in that women's match was the crowd chanting NXT when it looked like Sasha and Becky vs Naomi and Tamina which do you think was more likely; 1. Writer #22 smacks himself in the forehead when he realizes a "upstarts vs established veteran story was right there and only around 1000 times better then what they have done or 2. Writer #22 slugs another shot because he or she suggested it and was verbally beat down by Vince for coming up with some dumb "wrasslin" idea.
  9. I think the description of "Janutty" should immediately be placed into carney vernacular as in any time somebody goes full on pro wres crazy, you can say that he or she is acting Janutty.
  10. I watched the last hour and all the paint is dry. That's all I got.
  11. Jacques Rougeau made such an awesome heel because he has the face you just want to punch. Repeatedly.
  12. I would never, ever blame it on the talent of the performer.
  13. Tito? Personally I think Jermaine was way overrated, though Jackie and Marlon never get any love. Tito was Arn Anderson to Michael's Rey Mysterio Jr. James I heard Bischoff didn't want to push Michael, saw him as a career opening act.
  14. Tito is a great choice, but boy does that point out a difference in what midcarder was and what a midcarder is today. The same goes for Disco as well. Greg Valentine comes to mind too.
  15. Vince Russo is actually making more sense on his podcast than WWE's booking, which is really scary. Like, I saw where he was talking about Kevin Owens and figured it would be a typical "Russo hates indie darlings" rant, but his idea for pushing Owens made more sense than what WWE has done so far. Here is the thing though. All those fuckers, Russo, Hall, Nash, Bischoff, Hogan, Fererra. They all talk a great game and if you listen to interviews with all of them from about 1998 on they make sense and they sound reasonable. The problem is the chasm between talking and doing is a NASA project.
  16. It's funny how almost everyone was over to some degree during the late 90's, regardless of in ring talent. If a guy is a great character but only really good as a tag team guy, ummm, make him that. Only the absolute tippy top guys can overcome shitty booking, particularly if it is long term.
  17. RE: Holy shit guys, he's not that bad. Don't spoil the "everything is either BEST or WORST of all times" gimmick, please.
  18. This. There are two camps here- the ones saying this was the most logical choice, which I believe. The other- how do you get to this spot that this is the most logical choice? which I also believe to be true. Most of WWE's wrestlers are really, really good and they put on a great show with little help from the storylines. This rumble sets up another year of booking that goes like this: Did we have any Daniel Bryan chants? No? Check. How were the reactions for Roman? Well, tepid, but not too many boos and he got a decent pop when he first came out. WE'RE MAKING PROGRESS!
  19. I could see TNA on a cruise ship Then the tweet "Don't worry y'all, there was a terrible accident but the entire roster survived unscathed and we will still be airing every Tuesday night on POP!
  20. RE: Dave leaving. I looked it up and I remember all of this stuff now. Meltz and the like reported WWE said he quit because he didn't want to job and Bautista said it was because of a whole bunch of things. A classic wrestling story of unnamed sources and back alley conversations. http://www.inquisitr.com/1246820/wwe-news-batista-lied-to-by-wwe-considered-leaving-for-good/
  21. I thought he left because of money. If it wasn't the reason, he sure left some cryptic quotes about it..
  22. Much like the crossover audience, they are imaginary.
  23. Bray will never be champ for more than a week because he could never go on the Jimmy Fallon show or whatever. You know, that big crossover audience and all.
