  1. Jeff's pretty relentlessly positive. He's also a born again Christian, and one of their most base tenets is that anyone can come to know Christ and be saved. From what I've read, I highly doubt Vince is capable of the self-reflection necessary to make any sort of positive change, but I'd be willing to bet that's where Jeff is coming from.
  2. Honestly, that's probably the right call. You give Malakai Black guys like Buddy Matthews so they don't take pins. He never should've dropped a fall to Cody, at minimum...
  3. I've always thought a good alternative to having an off-season would be a rotating 9 month on, three month off schedule. It's staggered, so you aren't missing all your main eventers at once. Idk how realistic it would be, but I think it would be worth a shot.
  4. I agree..... Oh wait, you meant her wrestling? Yeah, that too.
  5. Tony Khan probably breathing a bit of a sigh of relief at that news. I don't really think WBD was gonna pony up, seeing as how they want to keep the NBA, but there's a part of me that thought WWE might've taken less just to dick over a competitor. If they weren't publicly traded, I think they might've. This does take a potential destination for AEW off the table.
  6. Gah damn did I love New Generation when I was a kid. A lot of talented people working a lot of shit-tastic gimmicks.
  7. Why are we slandering Rick Starks and Large William? They rule and should have all the tag titles. On the earth. All of them. The HOB trios title run had way more legs. I don't understand why they took the belts off of them. They could've held them until the end of the decade and I would've been fine with it. I like the Acclaimed, but they don't need titles to be over. In this case, the titles have hurt them.
  8. Based on her Busted Open radio interview, tafka Dana Brooke certainly thinks she's capable of more. To me she's always come off as someone who's certainly willing to try anything. I thought she was great in those MITB matches, particularly the pandemic one. TNA certainly has the roster space to for her to figure out if she's cut out for this or not. I'm honestly a little impressed she's choosing to continue, seeing as how she was a fitness model recruit and they normally don't do the minor league grind thing after release. I hope good things for her, as she seems like a decent human.
  9. Looks like the Bucks were eyeball repellant again this week. The ratings breakdown was… unkind, to say the least.
  10. I think my man Rick Starks got concussed. I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the planned finish.
  11. Met my guy Rick Starks at an indy about five years ago. Could not have been cooler. Lucha Bros were awesome in person. Kris Wolf was amazing. Maybe the kindest human being I've ever met. It's a shame she had to retire so young, but she was teeny teeny tiny.
  12. I've told the story a few times, but I got to be friends w Chris and Nancy Benoit. Close acquaintances is probably more accurate. Peachtree City GA, my hometown, had several WCW wrestlers who at some point or another made the transition to WWE in the early aughts. I got to know Fit Finlay, William Regal, Dave Taylor, and Johnny Grunge a bit. I took bumps at Grunge's gym in PTC for just a bit. His wife was very kind to me, and there were a few of us who tried to help her out for a bit after Grunge's death. It was a very surreal time in my life, and watching Grunge limp around Wal Mart probably had as much to do with me not pursuing wrestling as much as anything. They were all good to me, though.
  13. You know what’s crazy? Like, 12 hrs after Kylie Rae got released, some random ass Twitter account replied to one of the big wrestling accounts by saying “it’s because Chris Jericho invited her up to his room and tried to pressure her into having sex.” I’m not on the app anymore, so I can’t find it, and I’d be shocked if it were still up, but it always stuck out to me that someone had a reason that seemed so out of left field at the time.
  14. I think Mox is the exception. In addition to hating Vince mcmahons wwe, he doesn’t seem to have the sentimental attachment to hhh that some of the other former wwe guys do. Mox has repeatedly said he’d rather quit than go back to wwe. I believe him. For the record, I don’t think MJF is leaving either.
  15. Man, he re-signed months ago, if not when he came back in 2022. I don’t for a second believe AEW would’ve done what they have for the last year with him if there was any chance he was leaving…
  16. It probably hasn’t helped matter that Kylie has apparently “liked” some of these tweets about the Jericho nda stuff. I’m not on the app anymore but I’ve seen it several places. I don’t think Jericho escapes this unscathed.
  17. Without those things there's nothing Adam Cole can do that warrants him being on tv. He hides behind those things because he isn't good at anything else.
  18. I'm into it for 10 mil a year. He had his healthiest year in a while last year and los Bravos are apparently employing Hoodoo magic on these contract year guys. Vaughn Grissom might not be a good enough defender to play anywhere on the infield at the big league level and the Braves are pretty set everywhere. This is a medium risk/high reward deal for the Braves.
  19. Yeah. That title change puzzled me. The House of Black was killing it and the Acclaimed absolutely did not need those titles. I’d like to see HOB regain gold next year. Maybe International for Brody and the tag titles for Black & Matt…
  20. Yeah. Jericho & Philliam both leeching his heat really set him back. He’s rebounded pretty well with this tag w Big Bill though.
  21. Ima road trip to Greensboro for the ppv I think…
  22. I kinda like the Warriors analogy, except that in the AEW scenario Jordan Poole would have an EVP title that complicates things. I have no idea what the Bucks actually do. Shit, I think anyone here who's ever read a single one of my posts probably knows who I'd pick if I had to fire either Philliam or the Young Bucks. I'm just saying it isn't that simple. TK has apparently chosen to run the backstage portion of his company a certain way, and I don't see any path around firing Punk after repeated demonstrations on Punk's behalf that he didn't care about conducting himself in a professional manor backstage. Also, for all the flack he gets, I think it's worth mentioning that Tony Khan was able to make Jade Cargill look like a star for 3 years while hiding her weaknesses. IMO, it's some of his best work as a wrestling booker. That's what drives me insane about him. The same guy who saw two fairly nondescript Dark wrestlers and put them together in his head as the Acclaimed and figured out how to make Jade Cargill look so good that WWE grossly overpaid for her can't figure out that sending performers out to do media generally helps with ticket sales.
