Sounds like Sportsnet guys are invading HNIC during the 2nd intermission tonight & they are teasing some sort of announcement. Cherry announcing his retirement in 4 years? Kipper joining Cherry starting next year? Friedman blowing his brains out on live TV? Either way I'm hyped for a month from now when Jeff Marek power bombs Ron MacLean through a table.

The Sabres are dogshit. Just gotta hope a quick re-scheduling gets them against the Leafs 20 more times this year for an easy 40 points. Leafs were horrific and deserved to lose in regulation. Embarassing excuses afterwards ranging from bad officiating to broken sticks. Team is falling apart defensively & coach is ignoring the issues. Paul Ranger needs to be benched, he can't keep up any more. Mark Fraser is too slow, needs to be sent down to regain confidence. Fourth line is usless & third line is good at checking but has zero offense. So when the top line isn't going the game is almost impossible to win. Games coming up against Blackhawks, Kings, Sharks, Habs, Wings... this could get ugly.

It's still pathetic, I won't argue that. Great example on twitter right now how everyone just creates their own storyline for humor. "Leafs had no shots in the 3rd period." Completely false. Smithson had a shot with 12:47 to go that was saved and led to a faceoff. Pens stats guy didn't count it since the '0' on the scoreboard looked so funny.

Who'd he destroy? Pens should be beating the Leafs about 6-2 right now but they are just making minor league mistakes all over the ice and currently have a sub-minor league goalie in net. (No I'm not making a Fleury joke here) I bet Fleury comes back in to play the 3rd.

Just that it was short & only a tease of what's to come rather than the epic we're all waiting for. But this 3 way was short too and I loved it to death. Next week's video post should have Rush/Casas & Rush/Shocker. So double the fun!

Wow. There is nothing left on TSN I will actually watch and yet I much prefer SportsCenter over Connected but perhaps that'll change if they cut back on NHL coverage with no actual NHL games on the channel. Weird.

Phaneuf threw a perfectly clean gorgeous bodycheck tonight and got a penalty for a headshot. It's embarassing the way the game is being called these days. Also embarassing? The Leafs. And the Oilers now it seems. But the crowd seems to be ?mockingly? cheering Bryz who just got in so let's see what happens next.

Already people are digging up stuff on these guys like one of them CHOSE to play without a helmet when the league began to grandfather it in & one of their main arguments is the league encourages fighting meanwhile one guy in the suit played 20 games over 3 years and had 0 fights. Their rep is going nuts on his twitter so if nothing else he'll get this story lots of publicity.

I find it impossible to believe anyone watched that 2 minutes of 3-on-3 OT in LA/NJ and still thinks a shootout is the way to settle things. And that was with freakin' NEW JERSEY! Imagine an actual team with real forwards playing.

Marek had a good point the other day that while you can credit Chilarelli for doing a great job with the team the past few years he also has a tendency to give up on players way too early because they "don't fit the Boston way" or whatnot. Kessel, Seguin & someone else I'm forgetting were the examples.

Leafs have no official centers left to play for the next 3 games. JVR will fill in on the top line with AHL regulars rounding out the other three lines. I would say this is an issue but since 2 of those 3 games are back-to-backs against Buffalo I'm pretty sure our AHL regulars still have the edge. Hoping the Leafs don't go for silly revenge and just get the easy 4 points like everyone else does against Buffalo.
