  1. Logged on late last night because I wanted to get 3 more assault SMG kills to get my orange tint. Got into a public, and the first thing I saw was a Simeon car. Couldn't get into the LSC downtown, because some fool was already in there, but noticed an Entity right outside for some reason. I threw a sticky bomb on it and started to drive off when somebody on a motorcycle showed up. I drove off, but when I set of the sticky I got messages that I'd blown up 2 personal vehicles, and killed somebody as well - I imagine the person on the bike. Parked the Simeon car downtown after finally fitting it for a bomb, but nobody went for it. Some dude came at me in a firetruck, but I took it, and him, out with a minigun. Got 2 SMG kills when he came at me twice in a row on foot. By that time, I was at 5 star wanted level and surrounded by cops, but I saw a dot coming at me fast. It was the same dude on an Akuma. I shot him off of that to get my tint unlock, and then threw a sticky bomb on it. I ran to hide from the cops and watched his dot. When I thought he was close to his bike I set the sticky off, and was rewarded with messages that I'd killed him and blown up another personal vehicle. The best part was when I looked at his level - 999. Well earned, that.
  2. Minor FU to my left ear. Woke up this morning and couldn't hear out of it. Infection in there turned nasty pretty quickly. Add that to severe nerve deafness in my right (rifle shot with the muzzle right next to my unprotected ear) and I can't hear/understand a hell of a lot at the moment.
  3. There are people that can handle the minigun fairly well. I am not one of those people. Ran into a guy in a DM thar had orange tint, which is 400 kills minimum. I only use mine on choppers, or on cars that are too far away to hit with the RPG. It's really hard to go wrong with the combat MG.
  4. Pretty much anything I do in a race could be described as unintentional at this point. I've gotten really terrible at them, so I have to count on everybody else taking each other out to get my occasional win. I mostly try to stay out of the way, but still managed to hit about half a dozen folks in that one race on the east side of town. I feel bad for anybody that bets on me in a race, especially if we're on motorcycles. I found it hilarious that I won my first ever competitive parachute match while I was on the phone. Apparently arguing about design fixes with Malaysian engineers massively improves my parachute skills.
  5. Are you sure you can't wear the blackjack and 7 deadly sins at the same time? I can't check now, but I could swear I'm wearing both. I think they go on opposite sides of the chest. I think you still have the best K/D ratio of anybody other than melraz. His is just ridiculous.
  6. I was going to buy a Vestra until I saw that they were only two-seater airplanes and I only wanted one was sake of completion to cover all of my hardware access baases. Player owned planes don't really have much purpose in game other than to help folks survive bounties without staying in their homes... at least until someone decides to brave Ft. Zancudo and get a fighter jet. You're right on the owned planes. I own most of them from back in the free money days. Never used one even once.
  7. Man I was hoping the update with extra garage space would be today. I've got 3.3M virtual dollars burning a hole in my virtual pocket, and I want to spend it on 10 more virtual cars that I don't actually need. I'll probably be online early, but I'm gonna be on mute for part of the time again. Having to find convenient times to meet for both Austin and Penang makes for screwy meeting times.
  8. I know melraz has sent crew invites to folks, I know melraz has sent crew invites to folks in game (usually to low level guys that he's killed 983 straight times) so I'd assume a high ranking fellow such as yourself should be able to. I tend to get them on the rare occasion where I kick ass in a DM with random folks.
  9. Yeah, anybody with assassin is on my kill list, along with anybody that has reaper in their name. Unless they're in the REAP crew. I've run into them a few times, and most of them can kick the shit out of me. Anybody with 420 tends to get targeted, as do folks that have obviously cheated to get to their level. I ran into somebody called 804juggalo in free mode a while back, and inevitably thought of JT.
  10. In no particular order, other than #1 is miles ahead of the rest. "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" - Waylon Jennings "I Ain't Living Long Like This" - Waylon Jennings "You Know How We Do It" - Ice Cube "Gangsta Gangsta" - NWA "Mind Playing Tricks On Me" - Geto Boys "The Next Episode" - Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg/Nate Dogg "Radio Ga Ga" - Queen "Bored of You" - Agent Orange "Night Moves" - Bob Seger "We Never Fear Dem" - Vybz Kartel Other notes Yes, I'm old. Obviously If I made a list of my 20 favorite songs overall, "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" would probably be on it. Most days that's my favorite Waylon Song, and that's a high bar. "Whiskey River" would've been #2, but I just don't like the version they put on the soundtrack. It doesn't have the energy that the standard radio play version does. I've seen him play that song live a crapload of times, and even now with his voice clearly giving way it sounds better than the GTAV soundtrack version
  11. Sorry about taking that shot at you late in the game. I thought you were Mark going for another car. I had to bail out because my wife wanted me to take her to church for a bit. Probably wouldn't have gone over well to refuse so that I could play even more GTA. Tried to get on with the nite shift later, but my shit crashed twice in succession, so I gave up and passed out.
  12. Yeah it didn't even give a message you left. You just disappeared, even from the party. I just figured you'd had a freeze and had enough. I was only on about 15 more minutes. nite shift almost lost two members earlier. melraz and I did a team DM with random folks. The two of us got on a team with a level 80ish dude and a level 30 something. Other team was only two guys, one level 50 or so, and the other level 13. We figured if we lost we'd have to hang our heads in shame and never play the game again. And, damn if it wasn't close. melraz got the final kill to give us a 30-29 victory. Level 13 had the most kills of anybody, and our two teammates were worse than useless. We were both getting legit nervous that we were gonna lose that thing. Then we spawned in freemode with the level 13 guy, and killed him 9000 straight times till he left to console ourselves.
  13. Oh, and somebody was pissed off at stout last night. Guy called in at least 2 merc attacks and a mugger in quick succession. Stout must've pissed on the guy's cornflakes in the past or something, because I don't think we'd even run into him until after all that happened.
  14. You're where I got the idea in the first place. It was Simeon's vehicle. I managed to catch the guy coming out of the LSC. I was a little worried he would do to me what I was planning to do to him, so I was quite relieved that it didn't blow up when I got in. Guy was pissed I imagine. Sticky bombing his Adder probably didn't help.
  15. I gotta stop blowing up personal cars, but they're irresistible. I blew up 2 Turismos, an Adder, and Entity and at least half a dozen other things last night. Somebody had a personal Crown Vic for some reason. Can't imagine why anybody would want one. Cost me about $150 for that one. Overall, spent about half of the 220K I made doing missions earlier I ran into one guy after stout left that just kicked my ass, like 6 or 7 kills in a row to no deaths. He kept pulling a trick of reversing into me with an Infernus, and he was damn good in the free aim. I was using my combat MG, but couldn't hit the bastard, and was too slow with the grenade/RPG. I gotta learn how to do that. Pulled a total dick move for my 9th ignition bomb kill. Shot the guy out of the car right by LSC, drove it in and set the bomb, and drove back out at the guy. The only problem was that stout didn't know what I'd done, and thought I was legitimately going for the car, so he rolled up on the guy. I made myself a target and the guy managed to get both of us. Stout's and my conversation was something like this: stout: Crap, he got both of us. Try to get him when I respawn. me: don't worry about it, I got it covered stout: What'd you do? * sound of explosion * me: that I think melraz and I mighta broken the chat between his response to my story about my ex's mother, and me laughing my ass off in return. Hope I didn't deafen anybody, but that was too damn funny. And disgusting.
  16. Actually pulling that off was my highlight of the night. I triggered a speed boost right before I hit you with the tractor, and got rewarded by watching your cart fly over both fences of the track. The sad thing about my racing skills last night was that I actually got my best finish (6th place) of the night in the 5 lap GTA race, and I only even completed one lap. And I had the same problem with those two tattoos. I got them both at roughly the same time a couple weeks back. Went with Broken Skull for now at least. If I ever get 15 more team carriers to unlock the grim reaper, I'll have no place for that either.
  17. That must've been in the team one. I know I shot you out of vehicles a couple times in the last match I think Dan had it as a personal mission to melee kill me in every DM at least once. I got a lucky kill on him in the last match because I spawned with him in my sights while he was distracted doing a melee attack on somebody else.
  18. Sorry to stout and Andrew for that mission I had to bail out on. My wife came home right then about ready to explode. She had a crappy day at work, tried to call me multiple times without me picking up, and then came home to find me playing GTA. Not a good scenario. Took me about 20 minutes to convince her that I wasn't ignoring her calls, and that our phone line was really down. AT&T's crappy customer service (automated phone system said they'd get back to us by Friday evening) fortunately shifted her rage in their direction. Wish I coulda stuck around for the freemode, but we were going to a workout class together, and I knew better than to press my luck. Sounds like I missed a good time. I finally managed to get my platinum medal for sticky bombs during that first normal DM. JT and I tried to sticky each other at the same time, and I was just a little faster. I did about 10000 rolls in that last DM I did. The combat roll really needs to be tweaked. I've finally got pretty good at it, and it gives a ridiculous advantage in a shotgun only DM. Rolling isn't very effective at long range, but it's too effective at short ranges.
  19. Herby cracks me up in freemode. You can always tell when he's got somebody in his sights, because he'll say "I have him." in his deadpan, serious voice. Reminds me of Cartman in the old World of Warcraft South Park episode. Last night's competition didn't compare to what we usually get. Normally there are a few folks that can, and will, swap kills with you, but everybody last night was either useless or wanted none of us. melraz provided some helpful lessons in the first server on what sort of protection passive mode actually provides. Then our victim's buddy showed up and melraz, JT, and I killed the two of them from the top of the map all the way back downtown. My driving hasn't improved, as I nearly took JT's head off with a taxi, and then got another car stuck in a tree. Last kill was my favorite, as I launched off a stunt jump onto the top of a player I didn't even know was there. Second server, when we got back later in the evening, was ok for a while. Somebody tried to take melraz out as soon as he exited his apartment, and wound up getting killed a bunch of times for his trouble. I was in an ammunation nearby, and the guy decided he'd come after me instead. I killed him 7 or 8 times in a row before he'd had enough of both of us and left. We eventually had everybody in the server either in passive mode or shut up in their apartments. Third server was full of tanks, but I did at least get to blow up one last adder, along with its occupant. we called it a night when I went to go check out the blood moon, and melraz passed out from lack of sleep and beer #2. Scorecard for the night servers cleared - 2 money - down about 50K personal vehicles blown up - 5 or 6 Jehovah's witnesses who experienced a life changing, awakening moment with JT - 2
  20. Shit like that is what makes playing with y'all about a billion times more fun than playing with random fools.
  21. A lot of the captures suffer from variations of what's wrong with the motorcycle one. Every user created capture I've tried has had that problem.
  22. I've really developed a hatred for that one. I'd be fine with it, but I get sick of driving the motorcycle over every time I get killed. I actually climbed around the mountain on foot trying to be sneaky, but ended up being shot by someone when i got to the suitcase. I tried that two once. I managed to take out two or 3 guys who were looking in the wrong direction, and got a case, but then the respwaned guys got me before I could get out of there.
  23. That's exactly what I don't like about a lot of the captures. You spend more time driving over to the action than actually involved in it. Some of the Rockstar ones have this problem. I think it's because of the different types of capture mission design. Some types you spawn back at your base, some you respawn near where you died. I just don't know which type does what. I like the one where you steal buses, and the one where you steal postal trucks, because those two spawn you right back in the action. Did one last night with 3 or 4 teams situated around the Alamo Sea, where you have to raid the other team's bases. I tried once, got killed immediately by guys who could auto-target, while I could not on a jetski, and punted. I hung out at my base, took out a few guys that came too close, then spent the rest of the match sniping people off of jetskis at long range. I guess the game rewards you for long shots with a sniper rifle, because I think I got 700 RP for one kill. One thing that would make captures better would be if your team was in a party chat. At least that way you could maintain some form of communication on who is going to do what.
  24. I've really developed a hatred for that one. I'd be fine with it, but I get sick of driving the motorcycle over every time I get killed.
  25. Took some time off from DMs after getting frustrated at shitty user created DMs, as well as people's insistence on using forced weapons. I now realize why prison thugz always used to come up. There really are a bunch of fools out there that love melee combat in this game. About half the random DMs I've called up recently have been user created melee, and I just don't see the point. Did a bunch of captures over the weekend instead, There were a lot of people in them due to the increased payouts, so they were actually fun for once. I played a few user created ones, and they were mostly terrible, but at least you can't force weapons in captures. It appears that everybody had the same idea - do a job around one of the banks downtown. I saw at least 6 different ones that seemed to be based around that. None of them were any good, primarily because people put spawn points too far away from the bank, so you have to drive forever after you respawn. As far as I can tell, the best rule of thumb is to stick to the Rockstar captures, most of which are pretty good. Captures were really buggy this weekend. I played 3 or four where the objects we were supposed to capture disappeared. One of those was a no time limit match, which went on for what seemed like forever. No idea why it eventually ended, but I'm guessing even no limit matches have a limit. I wound up with about 50 kills in that. At the end, we were all just riding around in a military truck together, shooting at random things. Did another match where we were supposed to be robbing a bank, and the packages stopped appearing. It had a 30 minute limit. Everybody quite except me and one asshole that was spawn camping. Unfortunately for him, there was no reason for me to die after the rest of his team left. I stole a motorcycle, and used it to finally get the platinum wheelie medal. Then I went to make lunch until the timer ran out. I amused myself imagining him sitting at our spawn point, wondering where everybody was. I managed to unlock LSPD tint on the AP pistol and assault shotgun. going for assault SMG now.
