  1. What makes me mad about SR4 is that there's no clue if I now have a Platinum in Saints Row The Third! I will proceed now to play EyePet and Plants Vs. Zombies: GW for trophies. HUH?
  2. What really stinks is that even if you buy the $40 retail version (which should have everything), you STILL have to buy the season pass. It's not like most games' season passes -- it's mostly costumes.
  3. You just sold me on this game. After I get done with The Order: 1886 (ha! it won't take you long you say!), I may spring for this. I still want to play through MH3 on Wii U though. I know it will be a timesink.
  4. Yikes, I wasn't aware my comments invoked this much of a reaction. I lump Giant Bomb in with other sites because I don't really see any actual critical assessment of video games anymore. I do see a double standard taking place however: if a game is from a well-established franchise or developer, it almost gets a free pass. Then the sites seem to be perfectly fine with functioning as the marketing components of publishers. It would like if TIME magazine was stopped giving books for reviews by Knopf because they didn't like their last review. Albeit it's starting to happen less at the start of the PS4/XB1 gen because let's face it -- there's no getting around a broken game being released. The Order: 1886 isn't a broken game at all (there's no or very little technical issues and it runs at a steady 30 fps per Digital Foundry), it just has the unfortunate position of being a not very exciting or interesting game and doesn't have anything new to offer other than to be a graphical showcase. And I'm well aware that I'm on the wrong side of this and I'm backing the wrong horse but oh well.
  5. I may actually get The Order: 1886 today (and Evolve). Why? Because I think 'video game journalists' are a bunch of friggin' idiots and can't be trusted anymore. IGN, Giant Bomb, Destructoid, etc. will give broken games like AC Unity 8's and 9's but a technically competent game like The Order: 1886 6's or 2 out of 5's due to a Youtuber posting a 5 hour playthrough. The Order: 1886 may very well be an average game, but what's being held against it isn't fair. There's also a conversation on Twitter that really swayed me towards getting it. Basically two of Kotaku writers and Adam from Digital Trends were making jokes over how The Order: 1886 is a 'shitty game.' And before anyone gets the wrong idea and I think I'm being a Sony fanboy, I'm not. Ryse got the same treatment and a lot of people went on to say that they thought that was a great game.
  6. Sony's killing wallets again this week. Hohokum at $7.50 for Plus members? Yes please. I also picked up Battle Fantasia, Record of Agarest War & Styx: Master of Shadows. And they are doing "Spend $100, get $15 in PS money" this week.
  7. He was supposed to voice Killbane, but he ended up getting to voice Angel. Hogan voicing Killbane would have been magical, though. Hogan as Killbane would have shown range...instead Angel's the video game equivalent of Low Ki. Short/average looking guy with an impossibly deep voice. Not that Saints Row is Shakespeare anyway....
  8. For whatever reason, I'm trying to Platinum Saints Row: The Third. I wish the DLC/Season Pass for it was less than $20 and the Full Package at Gamestop is $26 on PS3 version. Once I get that done, I'll do SRIV and SRIV PS4.
  9. I'm likely to get the PS4 version but it may be next week along with The Order: 1886 and it's 10 to 15 hour Platinum.
  10. Since that link seems to time out or die for me, here's a link to another Peter Molyneux interview. This interview was done the day after the Rock, Paper, Shotgun one - in which Molyneux said he would no longer talk to the press.I am of a couple minds here: - I think Peter Molyneux is a scumbag. Screwing over a contest winner, diverting resources paid for by Kickstarter to other projects, not delivering rewards, not delivering THE GAME ITSELF, etc - anybody who backed a Peter Molyneux project via Kickstarter is something of a fool. I mean, it's not like this guy hasn't earned himself a well-established reputation for missing deadlines, blatantly lying about the status of his projects, the capabilities of those projects, and delivering stuff that (while it may be great) doesn't come close to living up to his hype. Not to take Peter Molyneux's side, but the interview shouldn't be called 'journalism.' It felt more like Frost/Nixon than anything resembling actual journalism. If any person was asked starting out in an interview 'are you a pathological liar?,' they should walk out immediately. At the same time though, if I had money to back the game and saw what little was being done to get the game out, I would be pissed. I think the problem with Peter Molyneux is every game he's put out, he's had somebody (or many people) reigning him in and actually making sure it's released. How on earth does he not know to do that after leaving AAA publishers?
  11. The problem is Roy Williams is too much of an asshole to actually do this.
  12. Yeah, I would think after the casket match, Kane would have a 'midlife crisis' as a character. He would realize he's no longer a 'monster' but just a man named Glenn Jacobs. He pretty much gave up on fighting the Authority so Daniel Bryan killed whatever was left of Kane. It would have a nice almost subtle level to it but then I realized that the current WWE writing staff are too freakin' disorganized to even pursue this.
  13. Bethesda is going to release a Hexen game and give it the Wolfenstein: The New Order treatment?
  14. Yeah, I never really warmed up to Jon Stewart at all. Kilborn was like your standard news anchor that delivered the news with a sardonic edge, while you mostly got Jon Stewart's opinions about the news. You could figure Kilborn's opinion by how he told it to you rather than Stewart pretty much beating it over your head with it. I kept waiting for Comedy Central to put someone next to Jon Stewart that do what Kilborn did, but that never happened. Instead, it became Jon Stewart grabbing low hanging fruit (FOX news hypocrisy, Republicans, etc.)
  15. What turned me off on the show was the Authority using time during their 20 minute opening segment to shill the WWE Network. That shit is getting really old....I kept waiting for Daniel Bryan or Roman Reigns to come back with a line about how they can't wait to go home tonight and fast forward -- I mean watch HHH's opening promos on Raw.
  16. The DLC path for Evolve looks a lot like the DLC for Watch_Dogs. I was curious about getting Evolve, but not now. Unlike Watch_Dogs, I don't believe there's a complete game without the DLC.
  17. Not to take a Christopher Hitchens-like approach, but I will just say I wish his family well on their loss.
  18. Super Stardust Ultra on PS4 next week February 10th. Say bye to your thumbs.
  19. I go to a department meeting and the department was encouraged to do individualized training and development. My supervisor tells me "I'm being too curious" and "need to worry about my tickets, some of which are months ago" (I closed at least three support calls that were a month or so old this week and most of my tickets are less than a week old). HUH?
  20. I bought Dying Light during Gamestop's "We Dun Fucked Up On The Season Pass" sale they had on Tuesday.
  21. Uncharted 4 and Kingdom Hearts 3 can be gotten on Amazon for $43 and $40 respectively. The deals were active for awhile, but are more than likely dead.
  22. Holy crap that sounds hilarious and almost EVE Online-esque.
  23. Also Costume Quest 2 at $4 and Shadow Warrior are worthy deals. Too bad I bought the disc version of Shadow Warrior during Black Friday.
  24. Classic Shell is great until you have to deal with a dummy who clicks on every link and spyware/trojans jump on the .exe. Not to mention OpenVPN seems to not function at all with Classic Shell installed.
  25. This is turning into the IT Misery Thread. I worked for a state agency that was still running Server 2003 for almost all of the critical applications. My former boss would freak out every time upgrading would be brought up. Apparently, the agency had enough money to give directors Surface tablets but not enough to buy a new server.
