  1. My greatest fear for what Bryan could turn into: What about the black skins, Hunter?
  2. Not sure Memphis had quite as much 1960s rioting as other cities (Birmingham). Well, it was the city MLK was assassinated in.
  3. Speaking of getting political, did anyone else find it unsettling when JBL called for the police to bring out the fire hoses? In Memphis, no less?
  4. As for the non-Bryan stuff, I thought the Shield/Rhodes match was their best match together yet. I always love the double noggin-knocker spot. I also loved how Reigns' gear was covered in gold paint at the end of the match. It was like a PG version of the Muta Scale. Also, was it just me, or did Nattie put an unusual amount of emphasis on "mark" when she said "I won't be getting any markings on my neck"? It's like she was trying to send a hidden message, wink wink nudge nudge.
  5. Hey, wait a minute. That dude's name is Khan Kussion? Jesus, that's Terra Ryzing level bad.
  6. I don't think Punk/Taker had much, if anything, to do with the crowd not giving a shit about HHH/Lesnar.
  7. All lucha matches are 2/3 falls (traditionally, anyway). The Cliffs Notes version is that title matches are almost always mat-based technical wrestling matches, as opposed to hair/mask matches, which tend to be brawls. One of the lucha superfans can go into greater detail, but that's the gist of it.
  8. I'm not sure the Jericho match belongs on the plus side of the ledger for Punk. The ending sequence was atrocious.
  9. Yeah, I'm not seeing closed-minded blanket dismissal of lucha in the voting and comments. Not really sure where that came from. Anyway, I'm inclined to go with Rush based on stylistic preference, but I still need to watch Virus/Titan. If it impresses me enough, I'll vote for Virus.
  10. Both of these guys annoy the hell out of me, but for slightly different reasons. I think I might have to sit this one out.
  11. I like Masters, but did he do anything this year besides dick around on the indies?
  12. Punk/Lesnar was my 2013 MOTY, but that's obviously of no help in deciding which of the two to go with. Setting that aside, it's astonishing how quickly Punk went from "best big match performer in WWE" to "guy whose presence on my TV screen made me cringe." Got to go with Brock.
  13. I don't understand why people have a problem with this. He's basically saying "This is going to hurt you more than it hurts me."
  14. I just watched Volador/Dorada. I decided going in that if the match knocked my socks off, I'd throw a pity vote Volador's way. But it didn't, so I didn't. Why was Volador wearing a mask? I thought he lost his mask at the anniversary show.
  15. Okada's placement in the bracket is unfortunate. By all rights, he should be a Final Four guy.
  16. I've always felt that Regal was a tad overrated around these parts, but I have to give him credit. The Hero and Cesaro matches show that he's become a much smarter worker as he's gotten older.
  17. I'm in the same boat as Dylan in that I voted for Spud by default. Suwama has been a giant worthless load in every match I've ever seen him in. He's like Kane if Kane regularly worked long singles matches.
  18. Raw doesn't go off the air until after 11 EST. When I was a kid, I needed permission from my parents to stay up past 9 on school nights.
