  1. I think Ditch said it about him, but there's a certain tension to everything he does that gives you the feeling that it could end the match. There aren't many guys I can think of in pro wrestling that carry that kind of aura.
  2. While you raise a valid point, I can't hear said valid point over the sound of this unadulterated fucking awesomeness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruvAW4m30DY
  3. What the hell is Kazuyuki Fujita doing now? Is he still rotting in IGF? Also, Meltzer reported that Murakami was coming back to New Japan last year. What happened there?
  4. YES to Ishii vs. Ibushi. NOMINATE Katsuyori Shibata and Hirooki Goto vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Togi Makabe; May 25th The Tanahashi/Shibata bits were great and you can really tell those dudes legit hate each other. Makabe wasn't totally bleh in this match. The crowd was into it, dudes were hitting each other really hard, Goto kicked Makabe in the mouth and busted him open. This match ruled. AJ Styles vs. Kazuchika Okada, May 25h By leaps and bounds better than the Dontaku match. They didn't rely on a ton of BC interference so it was more like AJ and Okada having a match to see who the better man is than AJ, a multi time World Champion who shouldn't need any help, relying on the help of multiple other guys to beat Okada. I like that Okada didn't hit the Rainmaker here, it's a lot like the 1/4/13 match with Tanahashi in that regard. Okada landed everything but the one move the crowd knew would give him the win. The crowd bought AJ as a viable threat here and reacted accordingly which added a lot to the match because they weren't sitting there like "we don't know this motherfucker" like the Fukuoka fans (rightfully) did.
  5. Goto probably beats Shibata to win the series once and for all (fuck forbid Shibata get shoved to the belt) and then probably fails to win the title yet again because he's fucking Goto.
  6. They appeared to be doing way better than they had (though I'll admit NOAH's business isn't something I've ever closely followed) with KENTA as champion but I haven't kept up with how they've done since he lost the belt.
  7. YES to: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Tetsuya Naito, April 6th Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, April 6th Tomohiro Ishii vs. Tomoaki Honma, May 3rd NO to: Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows, April 6th
  8. BOSJ looks tremendously uninteresting to me this year, but honestly it's been that way every year sine 2011 or so.
  9. Eh, Tanahashi and Makabe vs. Goto and Shibata should be good, Ishii and Ibushi will tear it up I'm sure and Okada vs. AJ might not be as bleh this time around. I'm definitely in the minority but I'm interested to see how the Nakamura/Gracie match plays out. I'll order the show because it's only $20 (on the Japanese UStream channel anyway) and at least two of the matches sound great on paper.
  10. Yeah, someone from New Japan said Meltzer didn't understand business if he thought Tanahashi shouldn't headline the Tokyo Dome show.
  11. How did those two matches compare to their other matches this year? Thanks. I thought Tanahashi/Nakamura was easily their best this year. I have Naito/Ishii on equal footing with the 2/11 match. I can't really pick a winner there.
  12. I watched the iPPV and outside of Naito/Ishii and Tanahashi/Nakamura, I thought the show was awful.
  13. YES to Bono vs. Shiozaki. That was miles better than I was expecting it to be.
  14. Just read the results and I want to know what the fuck Jado and Gedo are smoking.
  15. YES to Okada vs. Ibushi, March 6th
  16. NO to Nagata/Morishima. I wanted to like that match so much but it just didn't do it for me.
  17. Huge YES to: Nakamura vs. Tanahashi, February 9th Ishii vs. Naito, February 11th Okada vs. Goto, February 11th
  18. Since Sanada's going to be at Lockdown a week later, I think it's a safe bet that he'll beat Austin Aries for the X Title.
  19. Any word on what Meltzer rated the stuff on this show?
  20. Osaka definitely looks like the far better lineup but I'll probably order both shows if I have the cash.
  21. There's a reason for the rematch. The Gracies used the gi choke and that gave SakuGata the DQ win but they [The Gracies] thought it was a fight with no rules hence them thinking the gi choke was legal and celebrating like they'd won despite being DQ'd. The Gracies wanted a rematch under their rules and it was accepted.
  22. YES to all three matches from 1/4.
