It's the most I've enjoyed a Will Ospreay match. I just don't get less at the DVDVR MB (one of the few disagreements with posters in my time here) but more away from here how heavily praised he is by the majority of people as the second coming. I know that's rich coming from me with my Bryan Danielson love in but that hasn't stopped me critiquing some things I don't like of his. There's always something critically acclaimed you don't see eye to eye with others on and that's me with Will. Fair play to those who do like him. I find Ospreay matches do too much, strip it down a tad. It's why I preferred the Omega/Ospreay NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 match to the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 rematch. I'd rather watch Zack Sabre Jr than Will Ospreay. A year ago there was a conversation about Omega vs. Ospreay comparing the two. I definitely prefer Kenny to Will. Looking at the AEW roster, I'd watch Bryan Danielson, Kazuchika Okada, Samoa Joe and Claudio Castagnoli over Will Ospreay. Sorry this is all one paragraph, thought I'd get it out in one spiel of consciousness.

Two things from me and I get I don’t post much lately. One is part of why he’s hyped as the second coming is even your guy endorses him as being that in media interviews.

The other is Zack Sabre Jr is to me what Ospreay is to you. I find watching him to be as exciting as watching paint dry. That’s why I’m always shocked when people suggest he should be IWGP champion. Which I get if Mox can hold it literally anyone can, but still.

I’d be happy to. I’ve been a fan of this site for ages and that was what first got me hooked. Plus I know that area so I’ll have fun writing one up.

I'm already pained knowing Bryan Danielson is losing to Will Ospreay. Danielson jobs too much and is so selfless. I don't see what the majority do in Will Ospreay. I just don't get it.

I’d be more pained that he jobbed to Eddie Kingston than losing to the guy that’s going to win the AEW title in August at Wembley. I get Ospreay isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but man was that Kingston match at or near the worst from Revolution.

I think the difference in the staredown heat between Cody/Seth v. Roman/Rock Saturday and Cena/Rock Sunday was immense showed just how little star power Seth and Cody have.

probably for the best that Stone Cold wasn’t there.

While I agree with your point I think part of why Cena’s stare down meant more than Cody’s is he’s been the guy for the last what twenty years now? Cena having a stare down with any main event talent carries more weight because it’s Cena. I think once Cody has been back more than the two years he has that he’ll be seen in closer to that same light.

Seth on the other hand I have nothing for. He’s been there over a decade he’s usually positioned near the top of the card, and while his song is incredibly over I don’t think he gets as much of a reaction as he should. Part of it might be he just looks more like a heel than the top level baby face they insist on him being. If they turn him when he returns for a feud with Cody that might do him some good.

Have you two considered going to couples' therapy so we can discuss pro wrestling without hearing about whatever this was?

Thanks for saying that instead of calling out the other one for their repeated homophobic comments and posting things anyone else would be suspended or banned for.

WWE relying on shitty human beings to drive engagement? Perish the thought...

Shouldn’t you be in favor of that considering your homophobic comments about Kenny Omega before then saying a person smells like a bag of unwashed dicks yesterday? Which is also sexist and homophobic and should’ve got your ass suspended at minimum.

Has to be Bash at Berlin or Summerslam if they go that route.

I’m thinking based on the location and possibility of him getting the briefcase too SummerSlam is either Cody vs Logan Paul or Logan cashes in after Cody vs whomever. With it being in Cleveland that’s a big enough main event plus Logan would get all kinds of local media on top of the national stuff as it’s his homecoming.

I can see Cody Rhodes getting drafted to Smackdown and Damian Priest staying on RAW.

So in that scenario they swap Bayley and Rhea right? Because I kept thinking last night they’re moving Bayley to Raw which means either all of Judgment Day or at least Rhea goes to Smackdown.

I nearly went with Reigns/Rhodes II on top spot. If I were to redo my list, it would for historical significance.  I forgot about Reigns/McIntyre Clash at the Castle '22 even though I remembered the Survivor Series 2020 which hardly gets brought up. The CATC match should have made it. WarGames also from Survivor Series 2022. Thanks, For Great Control.

I really enjoyed the Survivor Series 20 match too. You’re right on that. And Wargames 22 is one that narrowly missed my list. But I had to include the Logan Paul match for how good it was, and the fact I’m definitely a Logan Paul mark. I don’t think he’s the best person in the world (or in the top million even), but his wrestling ability is phenomenal.

    Roman/Sami is the best one

It’s kind of interesting. The title run and Bloodline stuff ran from 2020 to 2024. I’d argue that Roman and the group were at peak powers at Wargames 2022, which is almost exactly halfway through. So it almost really was a four year long tale of the rise and fall. A nice bell curve there.

I get why the list that got posted had something else as number one because it’s @The Natural and not having Bryan at number one wouldn’t happen. But I agree the Sami match should be number one, and I’d put the match from last night a close second. I also would definitely put his defenses against Drew and Logan Paul from 2022 in the top 5.

Screw it here’s my top 5:

    1) vs Sami Elimination Chamber 23

    2) vs Cody Rhodes WrestleMania 40

    3) vs Logan Paul Crown Jewel 22

    4) vs Drew McIntyre Clash At The Castle 22

    5) vs Seth Rollins Royal Rumble 22

So basically all matches where they actually built the drama well and made Roman look vulnerable.

Seth sucks so bad. I thought the match with Drew was actively bad, mostly because of him having to sell the knee from night 1 but not being willing to fully commit to it, so he could get all his shit in.

Didn’t you see him legit limping after the main event? Unless he got hurt on his one bump during that then he wasn’t selling anything during the Drew match he was hurt.

I’ve talked about the shit I didn’t like, but in the interest of good faith discussion, I’ll say that someone should win an Emmy for that continuous shot of Sami Zayn backstage where he was running into his family and Gable & Owens. As someone who’s done camera work & production, that’s not easy and deserves kudos.

Good faith and your posts are two things that don’t ever belong in the same discussion. You’re still trolling on the AEW threads about your fixation with two on air VIPs then you come here just to dump on Wrestlemania.

We get it. You’re a troll. Quit trolling. At least my contribution earlier was what I’m looking forward to and not crapping on a company just because I “hate it” and it’s “Not for me”. Like no kidding. AEW isn’t for you, WWE isn’t for you. Maybe you’re the problem then.

They never really figured out how to book Bianca outside of Mania. That they spent the last 3 years feeding her Sasha, Becky, and Asuka and now she’s in an undercard 6-man that was more about putting someone else over really says it all.

I think part of it is the audience got tired of seeing her go over constantly (at least I know I did). The never ending feud with Bayley sucked, and did nothing for Bayley long term. Just like I think the Iyo and Bayley match for tonight has had a horrible build and it doesn’t matter who wins as even if they put the belt on Bayley it’s not made out to be a big deal.

What I’m most looking forward to tonight besides seeing Cody finally get the belt is what they end up doing with Damian Priest. Do they actually let him ruin Drew’s big moment, or do they job him out like a geek like they did to Theory with his briefcase last year? I also feel like there’s a good chance that the US Title match ends up being match of the night. I’m pretty sure I’m higher on Logan Paul than most people, and Orton rarely disappoints on the big stage, plus KO is just KO. He can’t do any real wrong in my book.

  15. I watched Collision earlier and forgot to make a post so now I’m going through a recap so I can list what I liked.

Seeing Juice wrestle (I’m always happy when Juice gets air time)

Toni Storm Portrait of a Star part 2 (I’m not sure which half of that couple I enjoy more, and I fully agree with Nigel’s joke about Toni being out of RJ City’s league)

The stupid shirt Mike Bennett was wearing

Julia Harts entrance (I don’t usually like lip synced entrances, but Julia’s is everything that Scarlett thinks she is in WWE, it looks way more natural and well done)

    Julia Harts match

The Righteous entrance (Every time I see Vincent make an entrance I can’t help but think of my close personal, little friend @Just Dave and envision him snapping along with Vincent thinking he’ll somehow make Adam Cole disappear)

Ricky Starks spear, and the botched finish to the main event (What the hell was Dax doing? Lifting his head but not a shoulder?)

Also this is most likely going to be an unpopular opinion but if I were to list the members of House of Black in order of potential I’d rank them like this:

    1) Julia Hart (they seriously need to lock her up for as many years as possible)

    2) Brody King (I love him in his current role, but I’d like to see him getting at least a midcard push on his own at the same time)

    3) Buddy Matthews (I like watching Buddy, but I feel he’d fit in better in Impact and the X Division)

    4) Malaki Black (I used to think he was awesome in NXT, but these last few years he’s not done anything for me)

I think it was a lot of people's, myself included. Didn't help I was in hospital. I was only 9. Hit me more than Bambi's Mum.

Dang I’m a year older than you friend. I’m sorry to hear you were in the hospital. My worst memory of it was once when I was I think twelve or so it was on ABC, and my dad and I watched it again. I still cried my eyes out, and he promised I’d never have to worry about losing him. I’m glad I got 35 great years with him, but there’s not a day that I don’t still miss him.

Leave it to my pal to post one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, and also the saddest scene I can think of from a kids movie (I remember crying my eyes out when I first saw it, and the last time I saw it (the first time I’d watched it after my dad passed) I had to pause it).

But I do think Christian is certainly AEWs version of Scar.

I imagine if Taylor Swift decided she wanted to do the half time show, the NFL would literally throw Usher into rush hour traffic. . . . .

Didn’t they offer it to her, and she (rightfully) turned it down because it’s not a paying gig and she doesn’t need the exposure to sell more tickets? I’d swear I read that.
