  1. Only thing is that the top teams that give Miami trouble don't seem to be scrambling that much.
  2. It's looking like a lock that somehow, Rondo's gone tomorrow to someone. This is just ridiculous. Rajon Rondo's not a guy to build a team around, but it's not looking like we're going to get too much back for him and in the end, we'll have a team full of young players with no one to lead whatsoever. It's the fucking late 90s all over again.
  3. LeBron is nowhere near the Shaq level yet and I think he's mindful to never even get there. Shaq was just a different level of crazy in that regard. Also, anyone REALLY think Melo and LeBron are going to team up together? I mean, I know enough teams could entice them, but I just have a feeling LeBron wouldn't want to play with someone who is so fuck-all on the defensive end. I dunno - I'm not a huge Carmelo fan and I know getting 20-30 points consistently a night is a great thing to not worry about, but I just feel like Carmelo is one of the most overrated players in the entire league. Dude flourished in Denver under a proven system and has done jack shit in my opinion since going to Knicks other than have a few overly impressive offensive onslaughts.
  4. That billboard made my day.
  5. 2013-2014 Boston Celtics Season THIS SEASON IS A PASS. THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT THOUGH. WE HAVE ALL THESE DRAFT PICKS. AND WE HAVE RONDO. IT WILL BE AWESOME! 2013-2014 Boston Celtics Offseason Draft Oden 2.0 and trade Rondo. Fucking shoot me.
  6. There's more top level guards WITH bad knees than good.
  7. I actually have to agree with that. No one's seen D-Rose play yet so who knows what he'll be like? It could be a Wade situation where Year One he's good and Year Two he starts declining horrendously.
  8. I like how you're worried about SAS and not the fodder this gives Bayless to bitch and moan for weeks to come.
  9. Yeah, Dewar hit the nail on the head for me, but it's also harder to make the playoffs in the West and he'll be playing those harder teams a lot more than he was before. Even more, if he joins the Suns, he'll be playing the Warriors and Clippers a lot which were two hard teams this past year. It's not that I think LeBron is going to fall on his face in the West, I just think he's going to have to work harder than he has in years. That could work out well for him and turn out some amazing basketball, but my point is just that the difference in the quality of teams conference to conference is staggering and James has been in the East his whole career.
  10. I think if LeBron goes to the West, he's in for a rude awakening.
  11. I actually did not watch it and mad would not be the word I would use, mostly because it was pretty obvious he was going to Miami at the time.
  12. Shouldn't have had a television special called "The Decision" then. "I don't give a fuck what you think about what I do, but I'm going to have a television special about what I'm doing and you should all watch!"
  13. I'm not going to criticize LeBron for opting out and I'll reserve my criticisms for where he ends up. Only thing I'll say is does he really want to be known as the guy who had to repeatedly team up with stars in order to get rings? Also, we know he's not going to the West.
  14. You're right. The problem in my opinion with ROH is two-fold. One, the core of the promotion isn;t young guys anymores, but guys who have been around for 10+ years and either haven't been picked up by WWE/TNA or were discarded by them: Briscoes, Roderick, Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer, Daniels, Kazarian, Matt Hardy, Jay Lethal. Go back to the summer of 2005 and all but one or two of these guys are on every show and not many of them are doing anything different today. Two, ROH used to be the place where you could see the top talent on the Indies and that's not the case anymore. Gargano, Richochet, AR Fox, the list goes on and I'm not saying that these guys are or are not better than the ROH roster, but they are some of the top names on the Indies and haven't been to ROH. The Evolve/DGUSA formation really hurt ROH in my eyes especially considering Gabe's best quality is his ability to find young talent that's going to be something.
  15. I thought it was a good show, but nothing anyone should go out of their way to check out....which is not the way ROH should have made their debut (or re-debut) back on PPV.
  16. I think Asik is a good pick but I think the Rockets are gonna want too much for him or if he enters free agency, another team will offer him the max. I really hope we don't trade Rondo.
  17. Yeah, tons of assumptions. I've heard Sullinger/Olynyk too, but I think they'd be idiots to ship both out and if they're only shipping one, it's probably Sullinger who's farther along progession wise than Olynyk.
  18. I just don't understand why Love would stay in the West when he wants to make the playoffs. Denver didn't come close to making the playoffs last year and who knows what Golden State will be like without Klay. I don't mind taking Love. I think that team can do a lot more than people think, but I do think that Green is too sporadic a player to build anything around right now. But Rondo/Bradley/Love/Green/Olynyk can be scary good in 2-3 years I think.
  19. So the new story is that the back-up plan to the Love lottery is that if we don't get Love, Rondo will be traded. Just fuckin' shoot me.
  20. When TNA does eventually fold, instead of book on all their mistakes, I think a website full of gifs like that will suffice.
  21. Oh, you're totally right and I don't think anyone's here is ever going to disagree. Jordan would be totally dismantled by today's news cycle and he may have been affected by it similar to how LeBron may be affected by it today (may be, who knows). But we can't sit here and play what if and we can't sit here and always talk about the problem with LeBron is the 24 hour news. In my opinion, that's not the problem about LeBron which I've gone into detail many, many times over now and don't feel like rehashing. No one here will ever deny that he's fuckin' amazing.
  22. I only disagree in that the Big 3 in Miami could be a lot more efficient if they adjusted appropriately and revised roles of the Big 3. I.E. If LeBron holds down the offense, the other two need to hold down defense (laughable I know). Vice versa. You can't have three guys constantly looking to be making the big shots. It's just not going to work in my opinion. Plus. Wade needs to be a sixth man at this point. When Ray Allen's playing at a higher energy than Wade, something needs to change.
  23. I don't mind having Asik, but I have a feeling we are going to overpay for him by a lot.
  24. I haven't heard any rumors, but I think most people have been talking about it since the start of the year. It's definitely been talked about on some Celtics forum I go to and the Celtics sub-reddit. I'd love to see it, but I don't think it's on the Celtics radar tbh even though he is a free agent. Plus, I think they realize that if they get Love, well they have Green too and they can't unload on him and have invested so much in him that it'd be a waste for his career to have him be a Sixth Man....and it'd be a waste to have Gordon as a Sixth Man. I think that's garbage IMO, but I think that's probably the mindset.
  25. What I heard is that it's the 6th, 17th, a future first rounder (maybe two), Sullinger, AND Olynyk. Ugh. Also, I don't really know who else out there could really do anything? We'd have to gut to land Melo and I don't even want Melo. Deng could be good, but I think the best scenario would be for Pierce to re-sign with the Celtics and take a 6th man role off the bench. He can mentor a lot of the young talent some more and we can build around Love-Rondo with Bradley, Sullinger/Olynyk, and even Green. I'm not ready to throw the towel in on Green yet, but if it comes down to it, I'd rather send Green off than Sullinger/Olynyk.
