It’s probably more to convince Metalik to stick around by giving him a real opportunity.
It's probably to hurt the AAA show at MSG on the 15th. Vince is in war mode now.

First step in finding lucha libre - search lucha libre not wrestling. Fuck.
Searching for "Lucha" brings up 200 shows with lucha in the description. Well worth scrolling through to find one more program. Huge pop from me when that happens.

Well I mean if you use the search function on a cable box it pulls up OnDemand stuff and actual programs you can record from live TV when they air.
I don’t get the channel Impact is/was on, same with MLW. When I went from Dish to Xfinity when I moved, I lost El Rey. I’ve never seen Smash on any provider I’ve ever had. Might have the AAA/CMLL shows, but I’ve legit tried searching “wrestling” and I get stuff like “Wrestling with God” or show times for WWE PPVs or Raw/Smackdown. Granted I live in rural Tennessee, so... coverage might be a little more limited here for wrestling content on TV providers around here I guess?
I'm sure that I get more Spanish channels in New Jersey. All of the wrestling TV was listed as Lucha Libre in the newspapers when I was a kid in the 70's, including WWWF and Florida in English on Spanish UHF. Me and my friends call everything Lucha to this day.

Just channel guide, not on demand. There surely are 100 dumb programs with wrestling in the title or description.

And how many of them are on a huge platform like TNT? Yeah, none. Right now all we have is WWE to watch on television. Not all wrestling fans sit around on their computer and watch shit like MLW on YouTube or subscribe to IW.TV for Beyond and whatnot.
I'm so old time that I don't own a smartphone, but I go on my cable box, search "wrestling" and come up with WWC, CMLL, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and Arizona, MLW, Smash, plus old stuff from New Japan, AAA, and TNA. There is more than WWE on television.

Much like use of Hulk Hogan had to be licence from Marvel.
I'm guessing the Gangrel name was either Heath wanted it, or they wanted some kind of Vampire name and V:tM had some good ones.
Whoever came up with Hollywood Hogan was a genius. Marvel got no cut from all of the merch.

He lost the Open the Dream Hate title to Ben-K, which theoretically frees him up to drop falls.
That title is needed somewhere.

Oh, I'm not necessarily saying to ditch wrestling completely. Just don't let it be your ONLY hobby.
I can go on runs of homebrewing or playing golf. Pulling out VHS from the boxes in my basement can get me back into wrestling. Something labeled as Mexico #87 or GAEA 2001 where I don't know what it is.

He used real sake in Rahway when NJPW did their infamous east coast tour back in 2011... we could smell it all the way up in the bleachers. ISTR someone on the board here was even recruited to buy it for him.

Louie went to the hospital. His head looks horrible. Lots of stitches on top of a lump.

She was good well before her adult work. Although its too bad she didn't get much bigger. She would be top if she could do power moves.

It felt like Shoko was the only one that was any good when in reality everyone but Riho is pretty good. Poor Shoko did a picture perfect Kamen Rider kick off the top and they called it a dropkick. Where's your nerd cred at Excalibur?
He was also calling a rolling savate a rolling sole butt.
I'm sure that you were trying to say that everyone but Riho is pretty good but Riho is great.

Gene kayfabed being drunk. I somehow walked into Gene doing a WCW promo on the streets of Toronto. He ended the promo by saying that he needed some adult beverages and walked into a bar. I was so disillusioned when he walked back out right after the camera stopped.

As seen in the magazine photo, Tenta was at a level where he was not yet allowed to to have sumo hair style. Besides that, I wish that there was an English language sumo magazine now.

January 14 Ito vs. Masaya Takahashi had 344,440 thumbtacks. Kasai - Takeda at Korakuen Hall for Freedoms (Christmas show?). Sakuda is fun because he is not too beat up and beat down by the style yet.

On one of Fuller’s podcasts, he talked about when in the early 70s that Dusty started gigging his arm and not just his head. Just crazy.
I want to say Killer Karl Kruup claw to the arm in Florida was one occasion, but my memory could be wrong from 45 years ago.

The Congo was kayfabe on top of kayfabe x 10. Voodoo versus Jesus will kill the territory. What can possibly follow that feud?
The exotico episode should have included a straight male exotico to fully explain (or confuse) the story of exoticos.

I'm thinking long term about making me a fan and keeping me.
I realized when I read his obituary, that I watched Lou Albano's entire run as a manager. The best part of TV back then was the 5 minutes of interviews in the middle of the show and Lou was hilarious. He would be the constant every week for years. His guys changed every few months. His stuff with the Valiants and Muraco was great. Also I realized that WWF has been ruined since Lou turned into a babyface manager for the most part.
I will put two together because the timeline and stories are so similar. I found Japanese video rental stores in NJ around 1990. I saw Manami Toyota and Kenta Kobashi go from great youngsters to stars to retiring 20 + years later and was a huge fan of both all of the way. I've gone to Japan many times and seen hundreds of shows. I'll never forget being a ringside photographer when Toyota became 50th WWWA champion. I made a special trip to see Kobashi/Akiyama at Tokyo Dome.
They are all gone now. Someone who might keep me watching it for a long time like that is Takumi Iroha.
My historical 4 would be Frank Gotch, El Santo, Rikidozan, and Hogan.

Yikes.
got suspended for palling around with the yakuza without giving Yoshimoto a cut of the payment. The Yoshimoto talent agency were the backers for jd' joshi puro promotion around 20 years ago.

Seeing these two back to back to start this page made me think that the topic was 1990, and Casey meant Tom Brandi.

I think that it says that TV starts in January on BS Nitele (NOAH channel) and Tokyo MX (real TV in Tokyo). Not sure if they are referring to Bushi Road or Stardom. Long sentences are confusing to me. No mention of Asahi.
