There is so many different levels of EVIL in AEW! I'm counting 4, there may be more. House of Black, Death Triangle, The Dark Order, Danhausen. Am I missing someone?

  2. I'll write a more detailed report later, but I just need to get it out there that I just did a single rep with 557 on trapbar. Other heavy sets before and after were 2x504, 3x504 and 2x504. Three straight workouts this week Monday to Wednesday. This means I should actually top my 1RM in the near future. I'll be damned.

Ok, let's recap. 3 workouts, Monday evening was the typical extra weight giant set with 66lbs (no chain this week, just weights). 3 rounds, then 44 lbs, 22 lbs and just bodyweight for one round each.

More lat pull downs, chest flies, side delts and light curls followed. Ab work for the finish. The hanging knee-raises with the 26 lb chain around my neck/shoulders is getting up to 20 reps and beyond. Maybe I'll add the other chain as well.

Tuesday was bench day, despite the heavy chest work the say before. 10 sets with 242-286 range (between 1 to 5 reps) and slow eccentric and pause at the bottom with 187 and 1,5 reps (an extra half rep at the bottom) with 154. Then some moderately heavy curls with the plates when deloading.

Wednesday was the record trapbar. I took the warm-up rather light with 10x140, 5x196, 5x306, 3x359 (this was short, as the other chain fell down, so it was unbalanced), 3x416 and then the heavy sets mentioned above. Then shrugs with 405 (getting 8 to 10 reps this time, lost count, but more than last time.) Then more with 306 and 196. Knee raises with the chain went up to around 25 reps this time.

Now, I will take the rest of the week off, not due to fear of blasphemy, just due to the fact that I won't be at work.

Two weeks until my real winter (spring) vacation, I need to get the new 1RM on trapbar before that.

The Yuta/Moxley series is the best version of Ole's Georgia Tommy Rich vs. Abdullah The Butcher series where the plucky underdog rookie gets closer and closer in losing efforts.

Khan is an annoying nerd billionaire but he can book a wrestling program.

I wish I would have seen that series when I was any good! And yeah, Khan books this stuff very much like I did my RPG back in the 90's!

  4. Yeah, that main event was like The Rockers (as AWA shortlived shitheels) vs '89 face Midnight Express! Which I have seen roughly none of, but still the idea is amazing! A bunch of other great stuff as well! Isn't it a bit of a travesty that Julia HART didn't qualify?

Without reading the whole thread, how does @The Natural rate this match vs the first encounter?

  5. Super late into the my persons talk, but, in case you haven't figured it out:

    Jungle Boy!!!!

    PAC

    Buddy Matthews

    Luchasaurus

    Adam Page

    Kris Statlander

    Leyla Hirsch

    Not my persons:

    Vince MacMahon

    That bad Khan

I have no "not my wrestling persons", especially after drink number 3. And during weekdays, there is always household chores during not so hot stuff.

  6. 3 workouts in this week so far, and I think that will have to do, unless I feel super frisky tomorrow. Somehow, I doubt it. No records this week, but overall it was still good. In an attempt to inch the bench max towards 300 lbs, I did a total of ten sets (or "sets", as one of them was a single rep and nothing more) with 264 to 297. The 286 and 297 were just singles and a couple of partials that don't count and that one 286 was just a single. Sets with 264 and 275 on the way up as well as back down. Same with 242 and 220. The 220 was a set of 5 on the way up and a set of 10 on the way down (I did 12, but the last two were shit). Between the sets I did lat pull-down combos and after the bench some chest flies.

Tuesday, I did the extra weight giant set triangle with 60 lbs, using smaller plates and one of the chains across my shoulders (Hercules-style). After two rounds, I took the chain off and was left with 33 lbs and then 22. The reverse shrug felt heavier than ever before with the chain around my neck. More chest flies, push-downs and curls to finish the workout before the mandatory ab work.

Took Wednesday off in order to recover for the trapbar and stretched out my hamstrings and quads a lot throughout the workday and more at home. Today, I had at least twice the amount of food I normally have at work, spread out throughout the shift. So, Trapbar it is. Started out with 12x140, 7x196, 5x306, 5x359, 5x416, 3x469, 2x526, 2x515, 4x3x469. After the 2x526, I tried adding the chains and failed 2 attempts to get that off the ground, so I did the 515 and 469 sets after that. A bit bummed out about that, but I did do a short (about 6 reps) set of shrugs with 405, then longer ones with 306, 196 and 110. Then abs.

Due to lack of materials, my work week has been shockingly light (compared to usual) so I was hoping for bit more, but there was heavy stuff in there, so I'll take it. Next week is shorter due to Easter. Will we witness "The Passion of Shartnado" next Thursday? I'll keep you posted.

Well, I went for one more workout today. A 90 minute upper body pump. Nothing heavy, but just crazy pump. I made a new playlist just for the workout. Now I'm ready for the weekend. Maybe Dynamite this evening.

Well, I didn't NOT know it. I knew no one kicked out it in NXT and I didn't recall anyone kicking out of it in WWE, although I would have assumed that Roman would have, at some point prior to this.

  8. Say what you will about Young Bucks, but they are exciting to watch. Out of the teams I hadn't seen before AEW, they are the ones actually live up to the hype surrounding them (Lucha Bros and Santana & Ortiz still need to convince me more, for example).

House of Black is F'n awesome and the ending spot was insane! Fuego's selling twisted like a pretzel was priceless! As far as fashion tips go, I WANT Matthew's jacket combined Brody King's bandana covering most of my face for my weekend usage, like right F'n now! Unfortunately, I don't have the intestinal fortitude to combine that with Matthew's shorts, but if I'd get my hands on a pair just like them, I would try and work up the courage to use them.

Speaking of courage and shorts, Skye Blue's outfit gave Hayter's one a run for its money and that's hard to do! These qualifiers seem a bit obvious so far, but you must get only the top talent into the tournament, so it makes sense not to pit two top prospects against each other only to qualify.

Dan Lambert takes the high road and they smash his car? I mean he is a deplorable bag of limp dicks, but I think that was still a bit unnecessary.

Hobbs did a bunch of big stuff on Lee and got a visual pin on him, but yeah, I didn't think he was ever going to actually beat Lee. Tag match coming soon?

Speaking of, now FTR vs Young Bucks, didn't see the first one, but this should be something else! On free TV, no less! Hyped up for this one!

Christian Cage vs Adam Cole? This should be interesting, too!

...oh oh oh, forgot to add that the trick to avoid Danhausen's curse is just not to give a single fuck! Keep that in mind, guys!

  9. Today, due to bike trouble, I walked to work. Took me two F'n hours, but I still did an upperbody pump for 90 minutes. Thankfully, the work day itself was short.

As for the Tuesday's bench and others, I went up to 286 did 3 singles (plus a 1 or 2 partials that don't count on each set), 3 and 3 with 275 before and after the 286's, then a bunch of stuff with lighter weights. Reps being pretty similar to last week. Not much progress on that front, but I try to get in reps with 286 or more every time out, hoping I can slowly progress up to that damn 300 lb mark at some point.

  10. I'll just put today's Trapbar here. 10x140, 5x196, 5x306, 5x416, 3x495, 3x495+53lbs of chains (though I'd roughly estimate it as 533 at the top of the move), 2x2x515, 3x470. Then shrugs with 306, 196 and 110.

I also did bench and other upper body stuff on Tuesday, but I'll edit that in if I get another workout in tomorrow.

But anyway, another few pounds closer to my all time max. I still have about a month before the Spring/Summer diet starts, so I need to get there before that, right?

  11. Jesus, what an episode!

So, you have a Punk match, a Moxley match, a Danielson match, an FTR match and Darby match. Appearances by MJF, Wardlow, Regal, Sting, Rosa and The Hardys. Toni Storm debut. I thought it was get Mia Yim and like it, but no. That was big!

MJF praising FTR now, when his shit is about to collapse, man fuck you! Of course NOW, they are family. Didn't see you helping when Billy Gunn interfered on behaf of his family, dickhead!  But hey, for ONCE the security does its job. Don't look for that to happen twice in a row. MJF is dead meat!

Andrade getting a big win was needed. Undisputed Elite getting their shit stomped in was needed, too! But I'll tell ya, Cole has The Buckshot scouted something fierce! It will take a lot for Page to get a clean shot at it!

Was there some other platform I used to get my wrestling from? I mean there must have been, but it seems so long ago, I tend to forget! Well, this will definitely do, at this point.

Max Caster's rap was topical and on point, as usual.

Oh no! Not HIM!?! One of the most decorated wrestlers in history!

If you count the reigns he's also had while using his aliases Abe Yance and Hell Dupp, this guy has, at least briefly, held pretty much every title in history!

  13. Big win for Dustin, there!

What will the better way be for Jay Lethal?

Fuego calls out HoB? Dude, no! Matthew's new gear is choice! Oh, wow, Dark Order to the rescue! There's plenty of Evil out there to combat House of Black's brand of evil!

So, out of the currently active guys, Dark Order is basically three sets of tag teams, Cult Cabana and Anna Jay? Is that about right? Well, this team was no match for Red Dragon on this night, though.

Scorpio Sky (and Lambert) have a point that since Sky had to wait for his shot, so will everybody else.

Nyla did beast things and Hook gave no fucks about the award he was presented and even less, if possible, about being cursed by Danhausen.

Main event was fast paced and high impact. Swerve will have such a line up of guys to work with, but Starks finally getting some significant title defences is nice. I kinda figured Lee would bust through the big sign, but he threw somebody else through it. Just as well.

This show could use another hour, but now it's kinda like the old NXT episodes, so that is good, too!

Looks like Wardlow was removed from the AEW roster page. Tremendous attention to detail!

Although, given as he's only employed by MJF, should he have been there without some caveat/asterisk in the first place? But yeah, stellar effort, nonetheless.

  15. Given the nature of this thread I use it to gaze my navel for a bit. So, early this year I got FITE.tv's AEW+ service for a year. I also got the last two PPV's. With so many Dynamite's and Rampage's in the back-catalogue, it has been wonderful, but also taking up all my wrestling viewing time.

I tried to keep up with NXT 2.0, since I still enjoyed it quite a bit and there was still plenty of watchable stuff on The Network. I fall a couple of weeks behind on that and get an irritated message from my friend regarding Pete Dunne. He keeps referring to the movie Snatch for some reason. All I can think of is that he didn't like the cricket bat gimmick? It's been forever since I've seen Snatch, I don't really recall if the Brad Pitt character was called Butch, or not. So I'm puzzled.

A couple of weeks later I get around to watching what ended up being Pete Dunne's swansong (for now) on NXT. I mention it to my friend and he's still going on about "Butch", so I change the subject. I get around to seeing Ziggler winning the NXT title and complain about that a little bit. Later in the evening, I accidentally turn on SmackDown on Finnish tv, and see Dunne in a weird getup interfering in a Sheamus match along with Ridge Holland. THIS is what the fuck he was talking about.

The next morning, I cancelled the Network. You do NOT do this to my only ride or die left in the WWE. How is someone called "Butch" is supposed to beat Roman Reings and retire Brock Lesnar on the same night to unify ALL of the titles at the main event night 2 of some Wrestlemania a few years from now? I mean the odds of someone called Pete Dunne doing that aren't exactly stellar either, but Butch won't get beyond a tag title match or the Andre battle royal, ever.

In a normal situation, I probably would have let this one slide, but now that I have something considerably better to watch, the move to cancel the subscription, (while done in a burst of irrational anger and hatred towards a provider of shitty product), was made much easier.

With a couple of months of subscription money saved, I can purchase more AEW PPV's from the past to get more up to speed. The AEW roster right now is so stellar, almost including all of my biggest favorites from NXT as well. I don't even have enough time to watch all the AEW I want, since I haven't watched a single whole episode of Dark or Elevation and still have a mountain of Dynamites and Rampages to pick and choose from.

I never thought there would become a time when I would decide that the Network isn't worth the money, but why would I pay for it now, if I don't really have the time to watch it?

It took me a week or two to get some emotional attachment to AEW product and characters but now I'm definitely all in and promoting this to all of my friends that have even a passing interest to professional wrestling. So far, it's been rather easy sell.

If Cash ever has to miss time due to an injury or something I think Dax would make a great TNT champ. Would be reminiscent of Arn holding the TV title

This is absolutely true, but so would the reversal of roles. If Dax was injured, I'd totally see Cash with a TNT title run that would be like Arn holding the TV title.

  17. Only two workouts this week, on Wednesday and Thursday nights before work. I'll join the suboptimal sleep club as well. Last two sleeps felt better, but my fitness watch disagreed, hard.

Wednesday was bench and other upper body stuff. Mostly lat pull downs with the resistance bands.

Bench was as follows: 5×132, 5x220, 5x264, 3x286 (ugly as shit), two even uglier partials with 297 which counts for nothing, then 3x275, 2x275, 3x264, 4x253, 4x242 ( had to stop at 4, since halfway through pushing up the weight just stopped, I was able to push it up, but for a second there, I thought I would not be able to), 7×220 (I did 10, but the last 3 were sooo ugly) and 24×132. Not my finest bench day, no.

    Tonight, before work, it was Trapbar. And it went a little bit like this: 10x140, 5×196, 5x306, 5x332, 5x416, 4x462, 2x515, 2x526, 3x449.

After being able to add 11 lbs to last week's top set, I tried to use the maximum possible weight, by adding the chains to 515 lbs. Whatever that would have been, I failed to even get off the ground. Same with another attempt at 515, so the 2x526 really took it out of me. I finished the night with shrugs and abs. I put one of the chains around my neck and do hanging knee raises with an extra weight along with the usual hanging upside down ab work.

I was happy to continue inching towards my previous Trapbar max of 561, which is still 35 lbs away, but  I think I will be able to get pretty close to that sometime not very far off from now. Yeah, not a good week as a whole, but 2x526, I'll take it and smile.

Well, that made me cancel the Network just now. When I think Butch, I don't think a Brad Pitt character from Snatch, I think the slightly less jobbing Bushwhacker, so this is my stop. I'll sign back up when Vince is dead. The day of.

Did you watch it live, you crazy wonderful person? I slept a good 7 hours and got up and took a decent nap some 5 hours later.  Worth it like that, not sure if it was worth it watching live? If so, was it?

Also, who said Matthews looked off without the satanic tattoos, I'd  love to agree with you, but with a physique like that, I'd hate to F it up with tattoos! I have one, and while I choose to never regret it, I would not spoil this, ehrm, statue, any further!
