  1. Very off topic, but I just got to thinking how lucky we were to get Jericho on Stone Cold's Broken Skull Ranch podcast. With the way the last three to four months have been shaping up - that's going to be one of those things in 5/10/15 years from now we look back on and go "how the hell did we get an AEW employee talking about AEW on the WWE Network".
  2. Man, I really love 2point0. Listened to their podcast with Jericho last night on the way to the airport to pick up the old lady and my god, I could listen to those two talk for days. I hope they're involved in the Punk debut somehow. Whoever said those guys might find themselves a fluke title win, god I hope so. I personally enjoyed the smaller entrance set. It made everything almost feel more "Nitro-esque". MJF winning again was the right call, but please tell me this feud is done. Maybe go to Sammy/MJF now for a blowoff? Or has that been taken off the plate for too long now. (Also congrats to Sammy and his fiance. More feel good AEW moments) Miro/Kingston? Uhm, yes please? Thank you. My god Miro has some chops on him. Thank god they don't do scripted promos over here. This is how promos should be. Don't care for Paul White vs. QT but it is what it is, one match on a PPV, I can live with that. Also, did the Elite tease our idea of beating Christian so he doesn't make All Out? That wasn't exactly a beatdown worthy of "not being able to make All Out" but I chuckled when I saw that. Thought we had called something right for once!
  3. I mean to be fair, I can kind of understand why. The guy had quit four years earlier and people would just relentlessly badger him about coming back. I'm sure at some point it gets annoying hearing it everywhere.
  4. I like Max Caster. I hope he doesn't get released. Then again, I also remember Bubba Ray calling female FANS in attendance sluts and talking about how they'd suck dick for money to ECW crowds. Now I'm not saying we haven't "advanced" from that heat - but let's maybe take a step back. Was what Max said insensitive? Maybe, depending on how you feel about the Duke LAX false accusations, but I do think there's a little bit of a line here where people are calling for his head (Twitter). Same with the Julia stuff. Unless someone knows Julia Hart personally and talked to her, I feel the white knighting is a little unnecessary. It IS still a TV show at the end of the day and technically a "promo" between two characters. There, now that I have white knighted for Max Caster (lol) - I'm glad 2.0 got signed. Love those guys. So much so, I think if/when they get a shirt - that'll be my next purchase.
  5. So Stone Cold, one singular wrestler who had his career also shortened due to a litany of injuries should = CM Punk who to my knowledge never had a broken neck or any significant injury. If you want to be really fair, AJ Styles is currently 44 and still is as phenomenal as ever, Taker was 44/45 for his legendary matches with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25/26 (while HBK was also 44/45). Nobody here is also going to say Punk is a world class mixed martial artist, but that has actually zero to do with him in the pro wrestling pantheon. I find it funny that all of a sudden, five days before his return it's going to be "oh man, but is it really that big of a deal" when wrestling crowds have been chanting dude's name for the past ten years for a reason.
  6. Could Punk's appearance be the loudest pop in wrestling history? AEW fans are always 2-3x louder than they seem (5,000 fans sounds like 10,000) and with around 14,000 people in the United Center - in CM Punk's hometown - for WWE's rival promotion. This Friday could be one of those Stone Cold helping Mankind win the WWF Title moments that is replayed for YEARS to come (I mean it will be regardless, but this has the potential to be very very large).
  7. Can we push the Danielson/Omega match to the Rochester show I'm going to? If our fantasy booking is true, Arthur Ashe is already getting LAX tag title win AND Eddie Kingston title win lol Spread the love!
  8. Kenny retained the AAA Mega Championship tonight, so I guess he will continue to sport at least some more gold around. Although, that's like the last title they even care to reference.
  9. Thank you, it sounded like Kayla Braxton at first. It would make sense if it was Dasha as idk any other ring announcers they have (Lexy Naire?).
  10. Also, who was the ring announcer last night? I believe that's the first show (to my knowledge, there may have been one during the pandemic) without Justin Roberts as the ringside announcer.
  11. I will say this, even though I was vocal about Christian not being the one to dethrone Kenny - I can admit when I was wrong. The title change, the match were all fantastic. If the crowd is still equally as hot for a Hangman kick out of a OWA and a win, I'm all for it. Seriously, that was a great match and honestly, I'm happy Christian got to have that type of a moment. Fuego and his contract was awesome. That's great TV right there. Man, AEW has so many people that are over. We only saw, what, seven wrestlers last night including Sammy? And the show still felt top of the line.
  12. I will hold very firm that I think Hangman beating Omega first is the right way to go. Imagine if Jon Snow got to kill the Night King again after Arya already did it lol (another instance where the obvious should've happened, but we gotta get all cute and overthink it) And yeah, OWA is a protected finisher (as are most in AEW to be fair) and has only been kicked out of by Kota, but why not just do both then? My god, 730 days you've been building to this moment. THE MOMENT... of, Christian Cage?
  13. To be fair, you do realize Kenny hasn't lost a singles match in two years right?
  14. I second this, but I'm also not that hopeful - because aren't there weeks where they will be taping Rampage after Dynamite? I could see them changing the mat, but I'm worried the set is going to be exactly the same as Dynamite. I hope I'm wrong.
  15. Adam Cole does have about the same figure as Fuego
  16. I'm going with the 20 kill medal from Halo. That voice over guy always gets me hyped.
  17. I forgot we get AEW on Friday's now! Making the day just a little better. I'm interested to see what happens with Omega/Christian at least. Also very intrigued to see how they do with a one hour live show (timing and such). I wonder if this is like when Heat first started and they tried putting main eventers on there - so in a year will we be getting Barron Black vs. Joey Janela main events? Edit - Just realized Barron Black totally needs to be in House of Black with Malakai.
  18. You know who I wouldn't mind seeing replace JR? Tom Phillips. I actually don't mind him at all.
  19. Matt calling Daniel Garcia 'Buffalo Soldier' got such a pop out of me. Love it
  20. Give me a god damn stable of CM Punk, 2.0, and Daniel Garcia right now TK. You know you want to.
  21. Texas Tornado cause they're in Houston too Edit - They announced it immediately after the Paul White/Schiavone stuff (after highlighting this weeks Rampage card)
  22. Also, how about 2.0? In a matter of two months, they have gone from being an afterthought in NXT to facing Sting and Darby next week... after facing Darby, Mox, and Kingston last week. How did WWE miss the boat on those guys? I personally love them. They'd be an excellent plucky underdog team to get a tag title run someday hopefully.
  23. Two things I want to touch on. First, I love that Excalibur referenced Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia's broadway from IWTV100 this past weekend. It really does make everything feel connected and it is such an absolute breath of fresh air. Secondly, I've said all along this was the problem with Omega. Either he HAS to lose the AEW World Championship first or this whole thing almost seems like a wash. If Christian beats him by hook or crook on Friday night, that's where the rub goes regardless. Christian would still be the "first guy" to pin Kenny Omega and usurp that whole mystique. Because of that, what do you do? Omega is technically slotted to defend three of those world title against AEW contracted guys as it stands right now -Andrade for the AAA Mega Title -Christian Cage for the Impact Title -Christian Cage for the AEW World Title To be totally honest with you, the best option may be for Andrade to be the first guy to beat him for a belt if those hold true and Cage does get the shot at All Out. Christian doesn't need the rub and I for the life of me will not accept Christian being the guy to beat Kenny. It almost feels TNA 2006 all over again and I don't want that. Please, I beg of you TK. Do not do subject us to this.
  24. To be fair, I think Omega vs. Christian will be a fine match, but it's not a match I want to see twice. I hope to hell they find a new challenger for All Out - or they're really banking on a Punk in ring return selling the whole show.
  25. Wonder if Caster will still be doing the TMZ freestyles every Monday
